I am still in this hotel and expects to check out next day. First thing first, I booked 2 nights and the first room they allocated was 323. Noisy from karaoke or band till 11.30Pm even with soundproofing. The bed, kingsize but on the right side sank and if you were to roll to the left side you will feel it feels higher and also the design of the toilet is atrocious seemingly clean at a glance but look closer. The toilet hanger is so high up only tall people can reach the towels. I feedback and was given another room 325. It was better but cleanliness of toilet is still substandard. Next, I checked out after the 2nd night when I queried if I could stow my luggage in the hotel to stay in Sheki for 1 night. They accepted to store my luggage. The day after, I return to check in again for 1 more night and this is my last night in this country. When I enquired with the reception about my luggage, he went out of the reception went to the lobby corner and pull my luggage. I was horrified to see all these while it was not stowed properly in a store room but pushed at one corner of the hotel lobby out in the open where there is a lot of traffic. When enquired with the staff why is this so, he did not response and looked *****ic at me. When I arrived from Tbilisi I had encountered attempted theft from tbilisi airport and now this. This is too much stress for a holiday. The reason for choosing this hotel is because they are near the old city and they have a lift. Find elsewhere they have no regards for people's property.

Quite disappointed. Firstly, do not book the breakfast. There is no choice at all, it’s porridge or omelette every day - you can’t even get your eggs done another way. The woman who serves it just stands blankly in front of you without saying a word, doesn’t explain the options, when pressed just replies “omelette” over and over. This is served with a croissant, a few olives, and a bit of bread on the side etc. The croissants are soggy and inedibly chewy at the bottom, clearly from frozen, literally couldn’t eat them. Bread is rock solid. We initially thought the price was decent when first booking breakfast (and hadn’t had it yet) but the street is full of cute places offering actual nice breakfasts for half the price, so it’s very high for the area. There’s also no air con in the restaurant and the sun hits it directly so it’s very warm. Besides the sad breakfast, the experience was mixed/poor. Besides the strange interpretation of customer service in the restaurant, staff are generally pleasant and ready to help with luggage. The bathroom is well stocked with toiletries and has a spacious shower, and the hotel’s location in the old town is ideal. 15 minutes from fountain square, maybe 10 to the promenade. Now for the flipside: only one flat pillow each, looking very lost on the large double bed. Duvet is the wrong size for the bed, it doesn’t even each the sides of the mattress, let alone hang over, so you’ll be duvet fighting all night. Room has a lot of floor space but they clearly didn’t know what to do with it, it all just feels a bit lost and uninspiring, certainly doesn’t feel like a boutique hotel at all. For some inexplicable reason they are reluctant to replenish the toilet paper until you literally go down to reception to ask for some each time; the cleaner is happy to replace shampoo but seemingly not toilet paper, and they only provide one roll at a time, so you’re always caught short at some point - just bizarre. Window for the room without a balcony is not to the outside but to the corridor which lacks privacy, not sure if we missed this in the room description but what couldn’t be expected is that the corridor remains fully illuminated all night and the curtains don’t block the light. You obviously also can’t really air the room because of the window situation.

I’ve just spent a fabulous 4 days in Baku, Azerbaijan which was made all the more special with my stay at the Four Seasons. I’d booked 3 nights with the 3rd night complimentary as they had an offer on. Upon my arrival I was treated to a smooth check in, then shown straight to my room which was fantastic. I’d booked a deluxe old city view which didn’t disappoint. Beautifully furnished, a fabulous marble bathroom with a separate dressing area and a great view of the old city from the balcony. I was on the 8th floor. Throughout my stay I was made to feel most welcome by all the staff & on my birthday I was treated to several complimentary cakes which tasted great but were not great for my waste line. I treated myself to dinner at Zafferano, which is where I’d been eating breakfast. Having stayed at serval Four Season properties I was a little disappointed with their breakfast, on the first morning I had Eggs Benedict which was just OK, the eggs were small and very watery. The following morning I asked for an omelette, this again was just average at best. However, dinner was a completely different affair. As a birthday treat to myself I had their pumpkin soup to start which was delicious, then their seafood risotto! Cooked perfectly and very tasty. Then I went for their Irish beef Sirloin steak which was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. I didn’t need a dessert as I’d had an ever growing cake collection in my room. I spent my days walking round Baku, exploring the old city, visiting museums and clocking up well over 30 miles. I spent my early evening relaxing by their pool which was a little haven of peace on their 7th floor. As my return flight times weren’t great, I was treated to a complimentary late check out, which I was very thankful of. Before I checked out I ordered their Club sandwich from their room in room dining menu via their app. Ordering was easy but yet again the food was only average at best! Having stayed in some fabulous properties all around the world I consider myself a bit of a Club sandwich connoisseur, and sadly this didn’t really make the grade. My overall experience was very positive, and with just a few tweaks this place would be a 10/10! I’d definitely recommend it, I’d definitely recommend Baku and I’d definitely go back. Beautiful city, fantastic property, great service with a super location within the city. You couldn’t really ask for more.

It really sad that such a good hotel got such an 'average' rating from me. I guess, as they say ”location, location, location”... In this case it worked both ways. There's nothing anywhere that says that your vehicle has to park more than 150 mt. from the hotel doors, outside the walls of the old city. Nothing we tried to tell the gate keepers convinced them about my handicap, to allow the vehicle to enter just to drop me off. So, though the hoteldid send porterage for our bags, I did have to walk in myself. A disappointing start - first impressions are lasting! The hotel itself was beautiful, full of character and surprising little jewels at every turn in its interiors. The room was well refurbished, though of an older design. The level of hygiene, the courtesy of the staff, the modernisation in the bathrooms etc. were faultless. Where the location really works for them is that they are in the midst of the old city walls, and wandering around on foot, or by electric buggy (in my case) started right outside the door. The central courtyard is one of the quaintest we've ever seen. And it has been thoroughly maintained. On the ground floor level this contains what must have been the structures in te old days of the old city...., where there are really old antiquated displays of water systems and artefacts. In fact it seems to be on the 'tourist trail' even for non-residents.(totally non-intrusive). IF YOU HAVE NO MOBILITY ISSUES - DO IGNORE MY EARLIER NEGATIVE COMMENTS.

Arrived at the hotel around 8 pm, it was raining and the weather was very cold. From the airport, take a taxi to the entrance of the old city. The driver said that the car should go to the city for 5***at. I said that I left, and then I took the suitcase and walked in to find the hotel. The ground in the old town is Shizi Road. As a result, the hotel was close to the door, but because I was unfamiliar, I found it for a long time. Finally, the front desk asked me to stand still and pick me up, so handsome, refill. The check-in also sent a bottle of Azerbaijani red wine, super good, but they said that not every room is sent, no normal. Hotel staff is very good in English, don't worry about communication problems, the room is very clean, big room, TV air conditioner Mini Bar, hot water bottle and coffee tea, the bathroom is very big, there is hot water, very quiet, check in and check out Soon, no more than a minute, when I left, the room card did not check the room, and the luggage was stored in the evening. Breakfast is on the fourth floor, with glass windows on three sides and a nice view. There is no special choice for breakfast, but the basics are still there. Western-style buffet, Chinese stomach ham and eggs eat more. Overall okay. Remember to go early, go to the microwave and heat it. What are the requirements to ask the staff, they will be very friendly, and the principle of reasonable and possible help.

This hotel is in Turkish style, the room is very high, just inside the old city, next to the Maiden Tower. Going out in front is the Caspian Sea, and going out is a pedestrian street. The left and right sides are luxury stores. The hotel waiter is very good. The harvest to Azerbaijan this time is that the people there are fantastic and very kind. It is not very appetizing to eat, every day is beef, lamb, a bit too much to eat.

Really good location. Views at breakfast from the cafe are worth the stay alone. The rooms with balconies are worth paying more for. The rooms are clean. Staff are always attentive and helpful. Loved the true authentic Azeri experience over a chain hotel or upmarket boutique hotel. Really memorable hotel stay
Da Vinci Hotel

Baku Old Town
The hotel is located in the old city and it is convenient to all places. It should be opened soon, the hardware facilities are great (as far as the old city is concerned), and the toilets are in good condition. There is no elevator in the hotel, and the old city hotels seem to be like this. The roads in the old city are not suitable for sunk boxes, and taxis can't reach the door of the hotel directly, so living in the old city is suitable for tourists who don't have much luggage. But what made me unhappy during the whole journey was the hotel’s service. I booked for three consecutive nights through Ctrip. I didn’t rest assured that I contacted the hotel via Facebook to confirm the reservation. The hotel responded to the reservation and received it, but when I arrived at the hotel more than 11pm on the first day , The hotel said that there was no room for the first night, and sent me to the hotel next door. The next door was just a small bed and breakfast. The room was less than 10 square meters and had a double bed. The 29-inch box I brought could not be fully opened. I booked with Da Vinci The rooms are totally unmatched, and the hotel’s approach is totally unintelligible! I originally said that I could move back after 12 noon the next day. I went to the hotel reception to confirm at 12:30 and agreed to move, but after I moved in, I told the room that the room was not cleaned. I asked me to wait for half an hour and I sat in the hotel. The front desk waited for more than 2 hours... before finally entering the room, the hotel front desk did not help at all during the coordination period, just let me wait, which was very unhappy! The most uncomfortable experience in the whole process! The front desk service of the hotel was particularly bad, including asking for help to get a taxi later, no matter how short the distance was. The picture was sent to the guest house next door to me. Da Vinci is the same as the picture on the website, and there is no other picture if he is in a bad mood.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location next to Fountain Square and the included parking. Furthermore the hotel is old, tired, ill maintained, dirty and hardly deserves one star. The four stars came through corruption which is everywhere in this country. The first room on the backside of the hotel on the third floor was so bad that we got another room on the fourth floor. That was probably the suite of the hotel. This room has the view on Fountain Square, but the floor moves as if the beams are broken/rotten. The bathroom smelled and actually nothing is clean or new. The chair in the room had a loose leg en de bedside lamps almost fell apart. For the last night we had to move to another room. Again on the third floor (305), but on the frontside of the hotel. This room had a terrible sqeaking bed with worn out matrasses and an ill maintained bathroom. Breakfast in this hotel is of no any standard. very little choice, blue boiled eggs, products from the day(s) before (not fresh). The elevator didn't work a couple of times, so going up and down by stairs. The hotel staff hardly speaks English. If you don't care about the place to sleep, but want a perfect location in Baku choose this hotel, but if you care just a little about the accommodation: find another hotel !!
