Padang Bay
I loved this place, the staff are amazingly pleasant, our room was nice and clean, with a balcony and a view of the port and the ocean. It's pretty cheap also, and a delecious breakfast is included. If you're a budget oriented person who doesn't need everything to be fancy and glimmering, this is a place for you. Top!

I was pleasantly surprised by the upscale feel of this hotel. The facilities are very nice and clean. The hotel also is very eco-friendly. This was quite surprising however slightly obnoxious when you can’t have any power on in your room if you aren’t present (charging electronics for example), the room key turns on the power. The food was good and reasonably priced, especially if you want to try local cuisine. I also enjoyed the diving. The dive shop is very well organized and offers many options to dive at different locations around the island. I did not schedule any land tour or transportation because these were overpriced in my opion and charged even more for solo travelers. The spa was nice, I had one massage.

Padang Bay
A great hotel to stay at whilst diving in the area. The room was clean and comfortable. It has a dive charter attached to it. Has a swimming pool that doubles as a training pool for beginner basic open water divers. Staff are friendly including the manager who is approachable and interested in making sure your stay is as best as possible.

I booked this hotel via booking.com as an overnight stop on way to Gili Air. As my ferry the following morning leaves early I chose it's location as very close to the ferry terminal and blue lagoon beach for snorkelling. Having arrived the hotel is located up a steep hill track, and as Padangbai is such a small area we could have picked a more central location. We checked in with minimal fuss. Breakfast starts at 7.30am when we leave for our ferry so can't comment on the food. We were allocated a poolside room which was quite disappointing. Very dated decor and no extra facilities (no toiletries/tea and coffee making facilities/fridge/safety deposit box). There is a wet room for the bathroom but the shower is in the middle so everything gets soaked. The bath towels are tiny and no hand towels provided. There is a comfortable super king bed for a good night's sleep. We didn't use the pool and although the hotel was adequate for one night on our trip travelling round Bali we had experienced much better accommodation since we arrived in other hotels in a similar price bracket. Sorry but I would not return here.

If you are a nature lover, this is THE place to to for you! You basically sleep in open air huts so you must be bug-ancious free but if you are you will LOVE it! Amazing views, really tasty food at the restaurant and all of that at affordable prices. Yoga and high quality breakfast is included in the room rate. Also a free shuttle is available at anytime to get down to the city or to the blue Lagoon beach(because the place is on a very steep mountain) . Yoga class is by the way really good and starts at 7:30 which is an easy to do time for anybody I believe. Pool has a stone slide, lots of fun for kids. There are monkey here so you need to hide your food when in the room not to make them become as nasty as the monkeys in Ubud. This place is so magical! Would definitely suggest to a friend and also revisit when next time in Bali.

We were booked into the top family suite via airbnb for two nights. Whilst the staff onsite are lovely and the view is brilliant, we left after one night. We were charged £200 for both nights, which is pricey by Balinese standards. The top room is living area and bedroom combined and open air. The road outside is noisy as its on a hill and there was traffic all night. The bathroom was not up to our cleanliness standards and the floors looked dirty. The view from the balcony is great but no furniture to sit out and enjoy it. There was a bonfire next door at night and it all wafted into the room, as there is no way to cover the open air window with a curtain or similar. More over, the beds have an eiderdown without a cover and no clean sheet to cover yourself, which we found odd. When we asked about if we were told by the owner that we got what was advertised and that this was standard. All beds we stayed in in Bali had a clean sheet as well as a blanket. We noted in hindsight previous reviews mention this issue, as well as mentions of a dirty bathroom. The interior is spartan. There is a large room that was probably meant to be a kitchen but just contains a sink without a tap. The second bedroom which is air conditioned is fine. There is a side extension of some sort - the top room houses a lot of junk furniture. Overall it felt overpriced and unloved and we can’t recommend it despite Poppy, the staff on site, being very lovely and trying to make things right.
