Dinner was the buffet, and honestly — best value for money I’ve had on this India trip, full stop. Dining room staff were excellent, always smiling, always making you feel genuinely welcome. Food options were abundant and clearly fresh. Only miss: some of the bread had gone hard sitting under the heating lamps too long — easy fix, worth flagging. Fruit selection was generous, and the local yogurt was so good I’m still thinking about it days later.
One real letdown: the complimentary drink voucher for the 19th floor bar only covers a glass of wine or beer. Useless for a non-drinker like me. It should extend to any drink — cocktails, mocktails — just cap it below the premium stuff like champagne. As it stood, I just ended up paying out of pocket for something else.
Also tried Ceperse, the Italian spot on the 13th floor. The seating — inside and out — has a genuinely breathtaking view. The food, unfortunately, doesn’t match it: unremarkable and slightly overpriced for what you get.
Overall, this hotel holds up everything you’d expect from the Shangri-La name. Already looking forward to my next stay..
