Lone Pine, Penang, a Tribute Portfolio Resort

This my second time visit this hotel from 10 years ago so far nothing change. Visited this time for 3d2n rain the whole time so we stuck in the hotel everyday. Once the rain stops we tried to go to the beach but the water was murky. This hotel have very few choices for vegans /vegetarians so we need to order food delivery or we need drive 15 mins to a 1 and only vegetarian restaurant in Tanjung Bungah. Overall stay is ok but the building was quite old but still maintaining in good shape.

Staffs were amazing, place was open aired and close to nature. Would revisit again.

The hotel room has been renovated, but many details are poorly executed. The bed isn't very comfortable, and the pillows are too low and too soft. The quality of the toiletries is not up to a five-star standard. However, the location is excellent. Overall, the stay was okay.

Celebrate birthday here, they also provided a free cake! Nice sea view , staff friendly and helpful.

It feels exclusive when u stay in Lone Pine this will be my first time. I have been staying in Holiday Inn each time I visited Penang. After the pandemic 2 years ago I tried Golden Sands, Shangrila. Overall spacious room with balcony facing Seaview. Wish that they trim the trees so it will not obstruct the view from balcony. Breakfast was OK. Nice hotel.

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the disgusting experience at your hotel, which fell far short of our expectations for a stay at high reputation 4-star hotel. Firstly, we were dismayed to discover that the room allocated to us did not correspond to the one we had booked. Our reservation clearly specified a room with two queen beds and a view of the sea. However, what we were given was a room with one bed and a sofa bed, and the hotel supplies only have two sets, which means this room is only fix to 2 person but not 4!!! It’s significantly different from what we had anticipated. Despite bringing this discrepancy to the attention of your staff, we were informed that this was the only room available and were assured that this was an upgrade, which we found unacceptable. Secondly, the condition of the bedding provided was appalling. Both the pillows and the duvet were visibly moldy, presenting a serious hygiene concern. Our complaint regarding this issue only resulted in the provision of a replacement set, rather than the proactive offer of a room change, which would have been more appropriate given the circumstances. Lastly, the response to our dissatisfaction was limited to apologies and an offer of a high tea set as compensation. However, given that we were already in the process of checking out, this gesture did not adequately address the severity of the issues we encountered. The level of service we received does not align with the standards expected of a five-star rating hotel. The overall experience has left a sour impression on us, and we urge you to take immediate steps to address these concerns and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. We trust that you will handle this matter with the seriousness it deserves and look forward to your prompt response.

Love everything about Lone Pine. It has all i must have for a family beach stay. Nice location with lot of eateries in a walking distance alongside the road; quiet, simple yet elegant luxury hotel and bedroom setting; ample of outdoor space to stroll opens to beautiful garden and beach. Recommended.
