Although the receptionist speaks little English, they are very warm and welcoming. Ready to serve and proactive especially the lady by the name of 姜叶. She has been communicating with me to ensure that I have no problem with my check-in. Mutianyu Great Wall Hotel (MGWH) is located in Mutianyu Scenic Area thus required to submit our vehicle number prior to entering the area. MGWH is stone away from the cable car /chair lift entrance. It's quiet and serene in the night especially when all the tourists leave after visiting Mutianyu Great Wall. The hotel was so considerate when I informed them that I have 2 elderly traveling on this trip. They upgraded us to a family room as there are lesser steps and stairs for the elderly. The rooms are big and the shower's pressure is good. The breakfast is a simple Chinese selection such as porridge, wontons , bao, fried rice, vegetables, pickles. They do have salad, bread, eggs and baked beans. The hotel also provides unlimited entrance to Mutianyu Great Wall. A RMB20 off each of the round trip cable tickets. No special discount for the lift chairs or Toboggan's ride. Each way @ RMB100 for a single trip up the Great Wall. You can get a round trip at RMB140 for a combined ticket of lift chair + Toboggan. The Toboggan ride is fun and exciting but the downside was that people over 60yo are strictly not allowed to take the ride. CON - there's nothing to do in the night in MGWH., very good to relax after a day up at the Great Wall. Eating is also limited - the hotel restaurant (closed at 8pm), I think depends on the season. Depending on where your room is, the hotel restaurant may be inconvenient especially for our elderly that need to climb the stairs to reach the restaurant. and a nearby restaurant that closes at 630pm. The owner was very nice and agreed to serve us even when we were there after 6pm. she called the chef to request him to stay back for us. Food quality is reasonable.

This hotel was amazing. 5* level. The room was top quality with high ceilings, huge amounts of space and everything you could need. The breakfast was also great, plenty to choose from and very tasty. You are literally staying within the Great Wall zone, meaning you can go to the Great Wall whenever you want. This meant we walked up for sunrise and had the entire wall to ourselves for 2 hours before taking the toboggan down as soon as it opened.

We got upgraded because of many luggages and got child, thanks to the receptionist staff. Breakfast was also good. Be prepared because hotels got many upstairs up and down from lobby to room and restaurant

Although the room is a bit dated, its convenient location outweighs any drawbacks. Staying here means we no longer have to wake up early to climb the Great Wall. After a hearty breakfast in the morning, we can start our ascent directly from the foot of the mountain.

This hotel is gem of a find, the staff brilliant and keen to help. Arrived late almost midnight due to severe delays at the airport. The front staff was very accommodating and understanding. Hotel generously upgraded our room with outside balcony which was much appreciated after horrible flight delays. The room was spacious, beds was very comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast was lovely with good variety of food. I woud stay here again and highly recommend my friends and relatives to stay here to visit Great Wall. Simply for location, comfort, convenience and stress free way to visit Mutianyu Great Wall beating the morning queues in the morning. Great hotel can't ask for more. Thanks to all the staff. What a lovely hotel ❤️

Overall, I had a good stay. The hotel is very conveniently located for visiting the Mutianyu Great Wall, and everything worked well during our stay. The property and rooms do feel a little old and could use some renovation, but they were clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful, and for a short stay near the Great Wall, it was a good option

The hotel's location is excellent; the Great Wall scenic area is just a short walk away. I stayed for one day and experienced two ways to visit (cable car and hiking). The hotel even arranged the tickets, which was fantastic! 👏🏻 The front desk staff were also very enthusiastic and gave us a free room upgrade. Both breakfast and dinner were at the hotel restaurant, and the cold wild vegetables there were especially delicious! 😋

The hotel stay came with Great Wall tickets, making it super convenient to visit. We went during the day and even enjoyed the Great Wall's night view! Traveling with kids meant no rush, and we could rest well after climbing the Wall.

Unsatisfied. The bathroom had a strong body odor smell right when I walked in, and the curtains in the hallway were covered in stains, making it feel a bit like a self-built house in an urban village. The soundproofing was also poor. The only selling point is its proximity to the attractions.

This hotel is incredibly convenient for visiting the Mutianyu Great Wall, especially if you want to experience both day and night tours. Since it's located right inside the scenic area, you can get onto the Great Wall early in the morning and avoid the crowds. However, I wouldn't recommend bringing large luggage, as most rooms require walking up stairs. The restaurant is also good and offers great value for money.

Unlimited Mutianyu Great Wall tickets (excluding round-trip cable car) during your stay: Very practical, you can come back to rest when you're tired, and then climb again in the cooler afternoon. The hotel is right by the Great Wall entrance, which is very convenient. The visitor center is quite far from the entrance, saving a lot of time.

The room was clean, and the hotel environment was quiet and peaceful. They have great facilities for kids, and the food portions were generous. The front desk staff were very patient and helpful, offering excellent service!
