Definitely not my favourite hotel - in fact I left after the first night of my 3 night booking & forfeited my payment for the remaining nights. BED... If you like sleeping on a FIRM bed similar to a timber floor, then the bed will suit you fine. If you prefer a more luxurious softer bed then book a different hotel. Even when Housekeeping put 2 comforters between the bed & the sheet, it was still HARD. BATHROOM Again very different to usual Filipino standards. On the bed were 2 face washers & 2 towels (about the size of typical western hand towels), plus in the bathroom was 2 ”Bath Towels” (narrow long flimsy open weave fabric) for exfoliating your body not drying it. Getting dry after the shower was definitely a challenge. BREAKFAST For a westerner, there was no cereal to start the day. The buffet containers for both the fried eggs & the back were empty, so I asked if they could be replenished. The hostess immediately went to the kitchen & promptly returned with a plate of fried eggs & another plate of bacon. I thought YIPPEE, I will have fresh hot breakfast, but I was sadly disappointed as both the eggs & the bacon were cold - obviously left on a bench in the kitens after being cooked sometime earlier. If you want butter to go with your sweet toast, you have to ask for it. Vegemite on sweet toast is a strange taste. Cappucino coffee is NOT included in breakfast. POWER OUTLETS If you have travelled to the Philippines you will know that their power outlets are two flat vertical pins. NOT HERE, they are the Korean recessed circular pins which made charging my devices a challenge. Thankfully reception had Korean/Filipino adapters. POOL It was nice!

It’s really a mess! Each room faces the pool, and there are tables and chairs at the door and hangers for drying clothes. The hotel's restaurant is very nice to see and has a postcard. Although the hotel is not large overall, there are also many small details with a lot of thoughts. The reclining chair, the rocking chair and the bed are all ready to face the sea for a long time! Moreover, there are no mosquitoes! Living on the first floor for a few days, there are no mosquitoes! The only downside is that the road to go out is not very good. It is a dirt road, but we only walk around the road every day for about 5 minutes. There are cars on the road at any time. And because it is far away from the main road, the scenery is good, and it is quiet and safe! There is a dive shop in the hotel. When the check-in day is too late, people go to work. In the evening, they contact other dive shops and find that they have caught up with people in the past few days. I am afraid that the next morning will be too late to schedule, and the three-day fun dive of the Kraken will be fixed that night. . The Kraken has a free tutu shuttle, which is almost every hour. It is very convenient to go and go. It is usually a dive back to Alona after dinner and then take the Kraken's car back to the hotel. You can park at the intersection, super convenient! Oh, yes, the hotel restaurant is generally the same, but the Philippines is going to play with the sea, the whole thing is very general, don't have too high expectations!

Purely. The bed is comfortable. Nice blanket. We asked for a kettle in our room and they brought it to us along with mugs and water. Friendly girls. There is a bakery on the ground floor. One bad thing - it was very noisy on the last night, and some cat was screaming every night and it was impossible to sleep.

I just stayed at the Malinawon and thought overall the experience was fine. Here are my pros and cons: Pros: 1. I stayed there for two nights and with fees altogether came out to 7100 pesos (about 71$US a night, which is not bad) 2. Staff all super friendly, especially when we needed to get a tricycle to Alona. 3. Really enjoyed the layout of the property and how each room was pool facing. I was able to get a room on the ground floor (#29). 4. The pool, although shallow, was pretty big in my eyes. 5. The bed was really comfortable. Cons: 1. One day, the bartender called out sick, so we were told no drinks other than beer would be served. Seriously? Can't find a substitute? 2. The internet was really shoddy with poor connections. 3. We probably shouldn't have done this, but, we were able to play our music via the garden Bluetooth speaker. We were playing for about a good 20-30 minutes until we were told that we weren't allowed. But there was really no music playing in the garden area and the speaker was there via Airplay. 4. Location is a bit further away from Alona (ok, about a 5-minute ride on the tricycle) in case you were looking for something closer. 5. The safe was not working for me. I could have asked the staff but chose not to. Again, overall, the experience was fine. The staff, really polite and professional and courteous. The value was good.

The ambience in total is cozy, relaxing and nature-loving. Access to the beach is just a few steps away and is very private to the guests. The resort is more applicable to families with childrren or large families than couples who look forward to romantic getaways. Overall I am satisfied with the service, the accommodation, the food was pretty okay too. They serve breakfast buffet from 6am-10am and have limited options to choose from. If they can add cereals, that would be aweaome.

Superb stay for my family ... great host, spacious units, furnished with ref, simple 2burner top stove, TV, kitchenette, AC & stand fan, unlimited drinking water in dispenser in room, hot shoer, no water problem . Clean sheets & towel. Need some more room & ground maintenance. Beach access for boats for island hopping but not good for swimming. A bit isolated from tourist restos but public transpo available, can hire resort vehicle or motorcycles.

I had a really great stay here, beds are huge and super comfy. The reps make the nights really fun with games and karaoke. I also did the countryside tour and our guide was so knowledgable, it was definitely worth the money. Special mention to JR who was especially great, he made me feel so welcome and was knowledgable on all of the good local party spots - thank you for a great time <3
