Stayed one night. Not sure if because of renovation, the reception area wasn't very welcoming, pretty much self check-in set up but staffed too. Busy hotel, popular pool, gym, need to wait your turn for sauna & steam room but Impressed with facilities. Room service food was basic. The room definitely need updating and shower pressure not great. Overall fine though, would stay again.

The housing environment is satisfactory, but the streets are full of slippery dead leaves that are not cleaned and can easily cause slips.
Satisfied with overall service
Satisfactory indoor hygiene
The facilities are complete, but there are many scratches on the inner wall of the frying pan and should be replaced. The TV remote control may not be usable without power.

Lauren was amazing - found us a room that we could check into around 7am when our flight was cancelled a couple of hours earlier. Lauren even printed our new boarding passes for us. Lovely staff member. Room was small but fine, no extra pillows were available though. Bathroom shower was lovely - very powerful :) Air con said 18 degrees but I’m not sure it was quite that cool. Location is excellent and great value for money. Again, kudos to Lauren! Remember - no restaurant on site but PLENTY of options on the doorstep!

I stayed in hotel indigo on the 5th - 7 th October and my stay was absolutely awful I stayed with my family and we was put into 2 different rooms on completely different floors my room was on 5th floor and my family members was on 1st floor, Each room was absolutely vile, clannishness of the rooms was absolutely disgusting, dust everywhere, my shower and room wasn’t cleaned to the standards it should of been cleaned to as a guest who’s staying. They didn’t empty the bins, they didn’t even clean the sink left all my tooth paste. Anyway back to the clannishness of the room, the head board to the bed was so dusty I could pick it off myself with my fingers and there was little hairs in my shower and first I thought I’d leave it until it got worse and I started to look around the room few days later now I’ve stayed in another hotel and realised actually how bad the cleansing actually is at hotel indigo so now I’ve decided to actually report it, im not one to moan at reception it’s something I’d personally keep to myself but I’ve realised how bad this hotel actually is though I’d leave a little review. I will attach photos that I did take.

The Positives! Reception was very friendly and extremely helpful, allowing us to check in well before 3pm. Both ladies from house keeping that I came across could not have been more helpful. Restaurant staff were pleasant, efficient and served well cooked food that was nicely presented by the chef. The bedroom was spacious with a comfortable bed and well equipped bathroom. I was impressed by the inclusion of a table and chairs to sit at with a drink whilst watching the good sized television. The negatives1 Torn wallpaper and marks on the wall. Although on the third floor you can't sleep with a window open for all the traffic noise below. To the credit of the hotel they are hosting families from Ukraine but this causes its own problems. We were the only non-Ukraine guests using the restaurant on our first night and had our peace disturbed by the children being allowed to run around making a noise in the adjoining foyer. As the children need to get to school they have an early breakfast so consequently we arrived at 8.30 to find all the fruit salad and croissants gone. There was only one glass left for fruit juice and all the bread for toast had been eaten. This is a simple matter of logistics which the hotel should be addressing. Finally, due to a no smoking policy the Ukraine adults gathered in small groups outside the entrance to smoke which not only created a poor image but they were reluctant to move, requiring other guests to walk around or through them!

Great location. Lobby area nice and a good breakfast. BUT Our room was on Level 5 and it desperately needed updating plus a deep clean. It faced outwards and caught the sun in the afternoon so it was really warm at night and all we had was a small desk fan wafting warm air around. We couldn’t leave the window open as it was far too noisy outside and I was still woken up every morning at 5am by bin lorries and loud bangs with the window closed. No courtesy bottle of water in the room but apparently you’re safe to drink the water from the bathroom tap! I got such a lengthy patronising talk from what I presume was the manager for asking if we could have a bottle of water after seeing a box of them on reception! Most members of staff were friendly but he was just irritating. At checkout I wasn’t even asked how our stay was and I would’ve liked to reiterate how awful the room was I had told a previous staff person on the first day and I was told they were so busy and fully occupied they don’t have time to update and maintain rooms?!? Very odd response to me but I didn’t want to do prolong the debate. I just found it all really disappointing and for that reason will not be staying there again.

I arrived at the hotel late, close to 9pm, in the pouring rain, walking over from the train station with bags on cobblestone streets. On Google maps, the distance looks manageable but in wet weather and the dark, I had second thoughts.
Nonetheless, the service and room standards made up for everything. They managed to fix me a room service dinner past 10pm, and it was really good lamb shanks on mashed potatoes. The bed was comfortable, the sheets were clean and I just sank into the best sleep of my whole work trip. The hot water pressure was strong.
I went down for a super early breakfast the next morning, and the service staff at the breakfast stations were super friendly. The spread was a veritable feast, and they explained what black pudding was - I actually enjoyed it. There were vegetarian options available and the coffee machine dispensed really good cappuccino.
One thing to mention was the wifi in the room. I had to do a business video call for an hour and I lost connection twice. I suppose the bandwidth was not designed for long video calls, so guests may want to prepare back-up connection if they need internet for work.

Wasn't great mostly due to the fact that you had Taxi drivers outside beeping horns all hours of the night.
People fighting and shouting outside the hotel.
As well as the Fire alarm going off at about 10:40pm.
I had to check out by 04:50 Am to catch a train and I didn't get to sleep until about 2:30am
This hotel is however right next to Cardiff Central Station so perfect for Travelling by train. Which is why I booked here.
After explaining my stay to reception I asked for a bottle of water for my travels and it was given to me complimentary which I really appreciated.
The hotel Staff were polite and welcoming, however and the room was quite clean. TV didn't work however which is a shame.

The most relaxing stay! Was greeted on reception by Tricia who was wonderful, as it was my wife and I’s first wedding anniversary she gave us a couple of complimentary drinks vouchers which was a lovely touch. The room was beautiful, very clean. The only minor fault to point out was there was a glass which still had lipstick on it, not a huge deal to us though. The pool/jacuzzi were lovely and weren’t overly busy even at 6pm. Would’ve happily stayed in the pool all day! We had food in the restaurant in the evening which again, we couldn’t fault. Krish made the most beautiful margaritas that were up there with the best I’ve ever had! Service was great and there wasn’t a wait for anything. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we can’t wait to come back. The staff are an absolute credit to the company and hotel!

Outstanding
Aar1esPrime location, lovely layout and friendly staff. The room was well presented. However, the hotel food really let the experience down. Namely as there is a £6 add-on charge for room service which isn’t advertised clearly enough! Imagine my shock when I went to pay. The pizza was very average too.
So in all £23 for a pizza that I probably could’ve made better myself. Insanity.
GGuest UserWe stayed at the Hilton Cardiff for four days at the end of March 2023. We really enjoyed our stay! The people at reception made us feel very welcomed, and couldn’t have been nicer! ALL of the people who work here were extremely friendly and helpful. We wanted to give a special thank you to Mark, the night manager. He was always cheerful - at the beginning AND at the end of his shift in the morning, which is not easy! He even kindly got us a bucket of ice very early one morning when my wife hurt her knee as she was stepping out of bed and the bed rolled away from her. We spoke to Mark about the incident, and hopefully, by now, they have fixed the “rolling coasters with no brakes on the box springs” problem. Mark was so kind and concerned about her fall that he checked on her twice - right after the incident and even the next day, which was the last day of our stay. The breakfast buffet had an excellent variety of hot and cold food offerings and was maintained to perfection by the attentive and efficient staff! The buffet was hosted by Bassam, who was very personable and interesting to talk with. The executive lounge was lovely, with beverages and a few snacks available throughout the day. There is an evening manager’s reception and some savory finger foods were offered each night. Our room had a stunning view of Cardiff Castle and the castle grounds! We would happily return to Hilton Cardiff, and we thank them for making our stay really memorable and pleasant. As a side note, we took the Cardiff Castle Ghost Tour and highly recommend it! It’s great to be able to tour the castle at night, and the two hosts were full of fun facts and historical information about the beautiful and “over the top” decor of the castle!
GGuest UserI just stayed here with my son, my friend and her daughter and we had such a pleasant stay. The Caerphilly Suite was spotless and each bedroom was cosy and spacious. I'm not sure how the sofa bed was supposed to work but it didn't matter to us, we were happy to just use the beds which are SO comfortable! The suite was equipped with a fridge, a microwave, plates, cutlery, mugs, glasses, a selection of teas and snacks and a complimentary fresh milk in the fridge! The bathroom was sparkling with lovely clean towels, toiletries to use and despite being in the centre of Cardiff, not a single noise bothered us from outside all night - we all slept very soundly. Even the room temperature seemed to be perfectly planned - none of us were ever too hot or too cold!! Oh and last but not least, the WiFi works brilliantly! Steve was very friendly and helpful, especially as we had some miscommunication with our booking. I would not hesitate in recommending Inn Cardiff and I will most definitely stay here again. It's the perfect location - a stone's throw from Bute and the centre. Thank you for an excellent stay!
GGuest UserEverything about this booking experience and stay has been amazing. From the initial queries to checking in, the staff were so incredibly helpful. When we checked in, we were upgraded for free to a much larger room which looked amazing. We paid for breakfast for 2 of the mornings we stayed and were treated to a buffet of all of the usual delicious breakfast options you would expect. Quickly served tea with a smile, all of the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Each time we interacted with any of the staff, they were nothing but kind and informative, absolutely no complaints about them whatsoever! They really made us feel welcome and special every day. We have already decided we will be coming back soon! The room itself was spacious and comfortable. The room was an Executive Room, with complimentary tea and coffee. Plenty of towels and amenities. The king size bed was so soft we almost didn't get out of bed. The hotel itself is so close to the train station that we were happy to walk. It was also close to so many restaurants and shops so we were never too far from anything. The only downsides I would say is that there was a strange red stain on the curtain rail, which I imagine is hard to clean! Out of everything, that was the only issue we ever came across, quite minor and did not impact our stay.
GGuest UserStopped at Holiday Inn Cardiff from Friday to Sunday to see the speedway at principality stadium. Hotel was perfect location for us. Easy to park at the hotel which was an added bonus as at other hotels we’ve had to park at NCPs. Rooms were good and spotlessly clean. The air conditioning worked extremely well and was a nice change from the heatwave outside! Hotel was very quiet which was surprising given how busy it was. Had breakfast both mornings, which had a good choice with the buffet being topped up regularly. Despite being an extremely busy weekend we were seated instantly and didn’t have to wait for the buffet top ups. The only thing letting the hotel down and giving a reduction in rating was reception. The receptionists came across very cold and did not display the “true hospitality” which we usually see at IHG hotels. Did not feel welcomed at all. The coldness and abruptness was felt at both check in and check out by different staff.
JjS-Ice maker is ready on each floor. It’s come with water also. NO Fridge is a bit disappointed.
Stay 5 days 4 Nights… not suggest staying in the summertime; you must request Fan. AirCon is only available at 10:00 p.m. If you complain, that no doubt that the response is more rapid than expected. But the problem remains the same. A fan may probably be available for you.
No late check …my first time to request to pay for a late check such as 12:00. (Due to my train is at 14:00)
All staffs are polite when approached and in a helpful attitude…BUT as I said. Everything remains unchanged.
Good luck all
GGuest UserHigh price - especially when you have to pay for your overnight parking (I paid £17.00) and then if you want to have a swim it'll cost you another tenner! Cheeky buggers. Staff very pleasant and our room, although a bit 'tired' was spacious and light with a super comfy bed. Restaurant - staff again very pleasant but I was rather confused about my dinner wich consisted on half a plate of saute potatoes, a chicken schnitzel and a large bowl of cherry tomatoes. That's it. Chicken cooked perfectly, saute potatoes weren't actually saute, just deep fried slices and what I was supposed to do with so many tomatoes I have no idea but it was a pretty boring dinner and I would recommend it.
GGuest UserFriendly staff, clean room and good location.
This accomodation is located nearby Cardiff Castle, Cardiff Market, and St. David Center. You can walk from the accomodation to Cardiff Bay in around 30 mins. Everything is accessible, it is suitable for short stay for backpacker, as there has no lift, so that's not good for carrying large luggage. The shower pump is not working well and the room sound insulation is not good. Also the room has no anti theft lock on door, the door only with an auto lock, and it's easy to open from outside.
FFrenchfries_KI checked in very late and the room card was ready when I arrived. Parking was free. The room was comfortable and equipped with basic shower supplies.
