The hotel is very close to the station, the room is large and clean. It is a shop opened by an old couple, and the store is very simple. Wait until we are 12 o'clock in the night. The croissant for breakfast is very delicious. However, Chiasso is close to Italy, the English of the store is not very good, and the exchange is a little hard.

What a surprise. Entrance, garage, check-in were so easy. But there was another big surprise: we were upgraded to a Suite. Room and bathroom were prefect and clean. The restaurant food was very good. There is a nice terrace overlooking the large swimming pool. The staff was very professional and extremely friendly. Breakfast was a very well appointed buffet. The location was perfect for us. Not too far from the freeway without the drawbacks and not too far from Lugano that can be reached in less than half hour. We highly recommend this hotel.

We’ve stayed at this hotel 5 times now, each time drawn by the fantastic view over Lake Lugano and the mountains. I would still give it a 3-star for that reason: the view! But the facilities itself are not worth more than two stars! Unfortunately, the quality of the hotel has gone down considerably since our first visit. The dining experience used to be top notch, but now it is rather mediocre. The chef has clearly changed! Breakfast was definitely nothing like it used to be: no fresh fruit salad, no muesli and only store-bought little yoghurt cups, nothing hot at all except for eggs you had to boil yourself, no fresh juice even - only a watered down version of Tang. Extremely disappointing! NOT worth the rating they seem to have given themselves! As for the service, it too was very mediocre. We were celebrating a very big anniversary and two days before, we asked for a specific table but reservations were not permitted! Consequently we booked at the nearby (only 1 km from the hotel) funicular restaurant, which has the same view, the same wine at HALF the price, very good food and very friendly service! On our first night we were seated by the terrace door - it was raining and there was no seating on the terrace. Every time we moved our arms, the automatic doors next to us opened! Good grief! Another thing we found amazing and which I think has changed since the last time we were there: there is no proper bar!!! On our second evening we came down for a pre-dinner drink - 2 couples - and we were given a seat by the entrance of the restaurant, all 4 of us on a bench, next up each other! Very bizarre! People walked by us constantly! There are a few basically unused rooms upstairs, a ‘library’ and a ‘pool room’, which could easily be turned into a bar! This is NOT four-star as the hotel claims to be! This is COVID time, and di there were restrictions: no more than 10 people in the pool at a time! Ha!!! No one checked! It was much too crowded! All in all, the hotel is in VERY dire need of a facelift! The rooms are furnished à la IKEA (not only the rooms! The restaurant glasses and lampshades were from Ikea too!!! This is so not 4-star!!!). I’ve been 5 times now - no more! Do something to spruce things up is my recommendation!!

Excellent in all! Absolutely wonderful location (only accessible with taxi) whether day or night! A wonderful DeLuxe room with sea view! The size, the materials of highest quality and finest design. Eat excellent in the Bistro, since full booked in the restaurant! Unfortunately only one night a.Gr. of much work also in Lugano (visit a super performance in the art and culture center). The fitness/sauna was unfortunately closed, but private spa was bookable before departure Sunday morning ... good alternative. The gardens around the sky! The team was super professional, extremely friendly and helpful. Good and dream of my next visit to Villa Leopold ...Heartly recommended for enjoying the fine and good ... Denise Worlds in Zurich

From 30 - 31 Oct 2021 we stayed in this hotel 1min walk from Mendrisio Train station and 1min walk from Fox Town Outlet Shopping. As we traveled during the Corona Pandemic, we went for outlet shopping to Fox Town, the hotel is nothing special but was good for a 1 night stay. Summary: The bed was comfortable and we slept good, however movable, no choice of pillows offered. The bathroom was good, the shower beam was great, from both the rain-shower and the hand-shower. The numbers: -Price/Quality: 3*** of 5***** (155/$ per 1 nights + 17$ city tax per person = 35$ (translated from 30.= CHF) -Price: $$$1/2 of $$$$$ -Quality: 2.5*** of 5 -Service at Reception: 3*** of 5 -Service Overall: 3*** of 5 -Services Breakfast: the choice isn’t varied. It was a very basic breakfast, they could have easily made a personal breakfast service they had plenty personal, also any additions where $$$$$ [french toast 10$, pancakes 13$]. -Wheelchair Accessible: 4**** (elevator) -Overall rating: rather 2.5** then 3***, disappointing mostly was the breakfast and the restaurant aside had no ambiance we didn’t go there but went to Il Fortuna 350m walk (other side of train station), room was good size, good decent bathroom and shower (fit 2 persons), low quality TV (outdated), pool was in renovation we think, looked abandoned. Hotel looked very outdated but rooms semi modernized. Restaurant We didn’t use looked “dead” no ambiance, we went to another restaurant that was recommended by Google maps (see above). Breakfast was between 06:30 and 10:00 - limited time, choices were limited and of low quality, we even saw supermarket brand yogurts served. Cold-cuts were only pork, no salmon and turkey so if you were vegetarian or a non-pork eater you would be left with little choices... Room Our room was 623 on the 6th floor, there is only one elevator and the floors 1-5 seem not to exist. The bed was comfortable, 200cm by 100cm - 2 beds could be moved together to form one. The room was a good size and we slept well. The room had a chair and a work desk. Plenty of power-outlets (next to the TV wall, on the side). The room had no coffee machine and no separate water kettle (boiler). Bathroom The bathroom was of decent size with a nice shower (fit 2 persons). The bathroom had standard amenities, but no Q-tips or cotton pads. A blow dryer of low quality was available. No bathrobes were available, no free slippers. Overall The location is good if you are visiting the outlet center/shopping mall, the room size bigger then most, no balcony, and no view. However you are within 10min walking at Fox Town. We think the hotel is a medium quality, provided great sleep, the price is too steep this could have been 100 and the additional tax makes the experience worse, the hotel should offer the price incl. tax on ***********.

Just beside the cable car station. The cable car takes three minutes to the train station. The hotel has a free cable car card. Warm, warm, free drinks and drinks in the lobby. Wangzhong is quiet. The surrounding shopping restaurant is very convenient, a few steps to the lake. Recommended to stay. But I booked a deluxe room, which is larger than a desk, and it is the highest price in several prices. But the ordinary room given by the hotel does not have a desk. I am too lazy to say it. The next price will be booked at the lowest price.

We had a wonder stay for two nights. The hotel is a classic with lots of history and a perfect location for walking to the town or enjoying a swim in the Lake. The formal restaurant was outstanding. Be sure to ask for a room with a view of the lake. The Pizza restaurant was perfect for a casual dinner with a great view.

While the overall stay was comfortable the service especially the front desk was disappointing. For starters the reception has a welcome drink which guests can consume when they arrive, however if a guest wants to have it otherwise - they are expressly stopped by the front office staff staring that ‘you can drink only at check- in not otherwise’. Wow! I found that rude and shocking. 0 points on hospitality for that. Late checkout - no flexibility to checkout late even by 30 mins. The front desk staff kept calling us inspite of a request to checkout at 12 noon latest 12.15 pm but no later. If you’re sitting in the lobby waiting to leave for your next meeting after checking out the looks from the staff were as if you’re unwanted. Your stay is over Just Get Out - don’t hover around. Complimentary drinks at the bar - served as if they’re doing us a favour and if you don’t consume the drinks the same as on checking in the front office staff will confirm with bar whether you have indeed consumed the complimentary drinks or not before renewing or issuing a fresh voucher! They don’t trust you and take your word for it! I personally found that offensive.
