The Nags Head Hotel

The room here was very comfortable and spacious with tea/coffee maker etc. The staff were friendly and we stayed for dinner and breakfast. The dinner was excellent, I had pork belly and my partner had the fish and chips. The breakfast was also very good, not a buffet. The only downside was the creaky floors! But only to be expected in an older building. We had a lovely night's sleep anyway

I would highly recommend this as a place to stay! Clean and comfortable, with friendly and professional staff, and a lovely breakfast!

Valentine’s Day special menu was inventive and imaginative. It was well thought out and very enjoyable. The service was friendly and attentive. This menu was more expensive than other local pubs but well worth the extra. The a**osphere was lovely.

We were in room 1. Although, the radiators were not on , the room was far too warm. We opened the window and then had to put up with traffic noise. We discovered next morning that the boiler is in a cupboard in the bathroom which was why the room was so hot. The bed was small and uncomfortable and the pillows very hard. We had a really bad nights sleep because of the above.

Amazing stay, lovely staff, well appointed room, etc. Our only gripes were that it was very hot in the room - which was easily remedied by opening the window - and that there was only one vegetarian option on the menu. But it is a lovely place, and an amazing location for walks, and mooching in the town.

A very nice historic pub, with spacious and clean rooms. The bathroom was large and nice, as well as the breakfast being very good. I was disappointed for the price I was paying, for the TV I was provided in my room, hence the lower review

Me and my mum came for lunch on Saturday (13th) and everything was wonderful, I had a lovely burger which was perfectly cooked. I wanted to say a special thank you to the guy who was working (I am so sorry I didn’t catch his name) he seemed to be running, bar, foods orders and service on his own but kept personal and helpful throughout! He defiantly is a credit to the Nags head!! Thank you x

Enjoyed a five-night stay at this classic Buckinghamshire establishment in Great Missenden. Nice upstairs room — a bit small but fine as a home base while going out and about. Main issue was the (very) creaky floor and paper-thin walls. Nice bathroom, small but well appointed. The Nag's Head kitchen is amazing — everything was spectacular food-wise. Well done. Recommended for a nice Bucks stay. -Pawlie.

We were in Great Missenden for a friends 50th and decided to stay here instead of the conference centre at Missenden Abbey and I'm so glad we did. I can't speak for the dinner as unfortunately, we arrived a bit later than we were expecting so didn't have time, which was a disappoin**ent as the menu looked fabulous and if the breakfast is anything to go by I'm sure the quality of the food would have been amazing. Both my wife and I commented that it was the best breakfast we've ever had in a hotel, high quality ingredients cooked to perfection. The only note for improvement would be that perhaps they could have some vegetarian sausages on standby for people who don't eat meat (like my wife) However she did have the rest and they put some wilted spinach on her plate which she said was absolutely delicious. The room was a good size, the bed was comfy and everything including the bathroom was scrupulously clean. If I'm ever remotely near the area again I will definitely be staying there.
