The location is phenomenal (ancient city is nearby and has food, photo opportunities, bars/live houses, gift shopping and historical attractions however erhai lake - longkan wharf with the cycle track - is an 11 rmb DiDi ride or you could rent a bike/scooter and get there). The front desk and reception were warm and friendly (cute corgi). The room is nice and clean (cleaners were willing to clean everyday) but there were quite a few people smoking indoors (ashtrays everywhere). Awesome photo opportunities on the upper levels of the hotel (quite a few props set up to take some pics of the surrounding rooftops and mountains).

Great location, comfortable beds and just off the busy streets so you can get a good nights sleep. Staff don’t speak much English but they are super helpful and will try their best to accommodate you in any way they can.

Pretty close to Dali old town, but tucked away so that the noise level is low. Friendly staff helped me rent an ebike, which is a way nicer way to travel around Dali!

This is a great spot close to the eastern gate of the old village. There's a bunch of amenities nearby and the place itself has a nice terrace view on the 4th floor. There's a washing machine thats free to use but its DIY. The owner and his wife are extremely helpful and sat us down for "攻略" or a strategy meeting. They are open and honest about what to expect at each spot and make good recommendations. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and the A/C is good. Ask the owner for e-bike rental for 80yuan or go up the street for similar bikes for 90yuan per day (200km range, 1 person) Its the easiest way to get around. You can even take it all the way around Erhai lake with power to spare. Speaking Chinese is a bonus but not required as the owners and staff are very patient and helpful.
