We had a wonderful stay at Dali Wanggong Hotel. The hotel’s design is elegant, peaceful, and incredibly relaxing. Our room included a lovely children’s tatami bed, which our child absolutely loved—it made the stay even more special for our family.
One of our favorite moments was sitting on the balcony in the afternoon, enjoying a glass of wine while taking in the peaceful atmosphere. It was the perfect way to unwind.
A special thank you to the wonderful concierge team—Xiaoyin, Xiaoxu, Xiaomin, and Xiaohang. They were all incredibly friendly, attentive, and always went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed. Their warm hospitality truly made us feel welcome.
During our stay, the hotel was preparing for a wedding, and the setting looked absolutely stunning. It made us think that this would be an incredibly romantic venue for a wedding.
We highly recommend Dali Wanggong Hotel to anyone visiting Dali and would love to stay here again in the future!

GGuest UserThe hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. They helped us moved the luggage from the drop off point to the hotel and booked a ferry service for my family. The hotel was very tastefully designed and the bed was very comfortable. The only drawback was the lack of clothes hook in the bathroom for you to hang clothes when you bath. The local breakfast set was very big in portion and tasty. The hotel is located on a little island that is linked to the main land by a small bridge. The whole shuanglang gu zhen is very busy and lots of shops to walk around.

GGuest UserThe highlight of this hotel is the breathtaking view from the room. The hotel ambience feels homey and comfortable. I rarely write reviews for my trips, but this hotel truly won my heart with its welcoming service and friendly receptionists. What surprised me the most was the hotel driver, Mr. Mars, who offered to take us to Dali Railway Station free of charge. GGuest UserThis newly opened Hilton is incredibly close to the airport, and you can walk to Xingsheng Bridge to see Erhai Lake in just 10 minutes, making its city location extremely convenient. You can tell the hotel's decor is top-notch; the lobby is spacious and grand, the color scheme is pleasing, and the rooms are tidy with quality materials. Even though it's new, there was barely any lingering smell in the room, which was very reassuring. We actually arrived two days earlier, and to our surprise, we happened to see Guo Yuxin and Wang Haozhen, lead actors from Hongguo Short Drama, filming in the hotel lobby. Looks like this Hilton has some serious clout!

Location – unbeatable and worry-free The location is extremely convenient, right in the heart of Dali Ancient Town. As soon as you step outside, you’re surrounded by beautiful ancient streets and alleys, full of local character. 2-3 mins walk away from the Bars. Attractions, cafes, shops, and amazing food are all within walking distance, which made exploring incredibly easy and stress-free. From check-in to check-out, the entire stay felt completely worry-free. Service – warm, genuine, and unforgettable The biggest highlight of this guesthouse is without a doubt the host. The lady boss is unbelievably friendly, considerate, and welcoming. She is super nice, enthusiastic, and very meticulous in everything she does. From contacting me in advance, patiently explaining routes, to sharing travel tips and local suggestions, she made me feel taken care of even before I arrived. Staying here truly felt like coming home rather than staying at a guesthouse. What made this stay truly special was the personal connection. She even invited me to join a barbecue with her and her friends. We had drinks, chatted late into the night, and shared stories about our cultures, life views, and experiences. Even though I only stayed for two nights, that evening made my time in Dali unforgettable. I felt incredibly lucky to have arrived back just in time for the barbecue. The Bai Jiu, the Yi Zu-style barbecue pork, and the homemade dumplings she made were all fantastic. The atmosphere was relaxed, warm, and full of laughter. Even small details were fun, like the pot cover shaped like the Rolls-Royce Spirit of Ecstasy, which gave us a good laugh. It was one of those nights you don’t plan for, but it’s the highlight of the trip that you will remember for a long time. 😎 Room & Sleep Quality – quiet, comfortable, and well designed The room itself was quiet and very comfortable, with good sound insulation and a thoughtful renovation design that blends modern comfort with traditional charm. The bedding was clean and high quality, and the bathroom was spotless and well equipped. I slept extremely well every night. The entire guesthouse is beautifully designed, cozy, and relaxing, making it easy to unwind after a day of exploring. Value – exquisite and worth every penny This is a highly cost-effective and exquisite accommodation. You can see the attention to detail everywhere, from the design to the service. It perfectly balances the charm of the ancient town with modern convenience. It’s absolutely worth experiencing, and I would not hesitate to stay here again on my next trip. Final thoughts I returned home a few days ago, but when I think back on my trip to Yunnan, Dali still stands out as the most chill and relaxing place and Meishan Guesthouse is a big reason why. The friendly host, the warm atmosphere, and the meaningful conversations made this stay truly special. If I could give 11 stars, I would. Hands down one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. Highly, highly recommended. Will definitely be back!!!
