Garten Hotel

Love this place we had great time the only recommendation is if you stay at villas is separate from main hotel they should have 2 Golf cars to transport guest back in fourth we had to Waite long at time. To go back to main lobby and hotel and back to villa. Other then that we love it!

What a stellar place to stay. I am already thinking about when we will return. From asking when we want housekeeping to whether we want breakfast delivered, the Garten staff was absolutely on it! They went above and beyond to ensure we were the most comfortable. Compliments to the entire staff from the pool team to the restaurant team. Stay here, you will absolutely not regret it!

Clearly the nicest hotel in this area. We stayed in the main facility, not the villas down the street. The room was immaculate, large, with a supremely comfortable firm king bed. The air conditioning was strong. The staff were unfailingly polite. The included breakfast is delicious and can be enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the pool below and the ocean further down. There were a few tacky extra charges (milk with coffee, extra syrup with the french toast), but the costs were so minimal that they did not detract from the experience. The parking area and the small hotel itself are well secured. The beach is beautiful. The main downside of the trip is not attributable to the hotel but is an important word of caution to anyone coming to El Salvador -- the sanitation is clearly very much third world. Nearly everyone in our group of about a dozen (the rest of whom stayed at at AirBnB villa 10 minutes away) got badly ill with the typical undeveloped country stomach ailments. El Salvador is very welcoming and inexpensive, but we will not return since there are so many wonderful places around the world where the risk of illness is much lower (Costa Rica being a prime example). Hopefully El Salvador uses the influx of tourism money to get the sanitation practices right.

I had an amazing stay!!! This hotel is a few minutes away from the tourist area, it’s nestled in the local neighborhood and has a beautiful infinity pool with private access to the beach. The penthouse is absolutely beautiful, comfortable bed and clean accommodations. The patio tub is even more amazing in person. This is a boutique hotel, small and intimate. Service was great, we ordered breakfast in our room. Drinks by the pool. The only issue we had was a miscommunication about a massage we had scheduled, the hotel management took responsibility and made adjus**ents for us. I would love to come back. Breakfast is included with your stay, order the traditional breakfast it’s delicious.

Beautiful property with good food and OK drinks. We did our last two days in El Salvador here and it was perfect If you want a room with a view, call to make your reservation. Most rooms face the parking lot. Bring at least two bottles of champagne, wine, or whatever you like to drink. Drinks aren't cheap or strong and the hotel isn't walking distance to anything and while you can drive somewhere the vibe is so nice you won't want to.

I really enjoyed my time at Garten Hotel and El Zonte! What a wonderful community and genuinely friendly helpful staff! Everything ran smoothly! Excellent food! I learned to make pupusas with the head chef! The hotel staff was helpful organizing activities IE going to ruta de lad Flores and hiking the highest volcano. They were helpful organizing on time airport Transfers to and from the hotel and also the required COVID testing the day before departure to the USA onsite which was convenient. The room was very comfortable and spacious for a solo traveller or two travellers. The room and building in general is in great condition. The menu was good, the only think I could think to improve on the menu would be at least a couple vegetarian or vegan options. Alvaro and Diego were very helpful and fun to chat with. Laba is a great driver and tour guide for the volcano hike and Ruta de las Flores. Rodrigo is an excellent bar tender and makes the best fresh Limonatas!!! I really liked the breakfast burrito!! Next time I will stay longer and try the villas! A week just isn’t long enough!!’

Stayed a single night in the penthouse as a splurge between a week of backpacking through the north of the country followed by a week of surfing on the coast. It was a great experience overall, obviously really really expensive compared to what you are paying everywhere else in the country but for the penthouse it's absolutely worth it. The private (mostly, hehe) bathtub overlooks the water and is beautiful my girlfriend and I watched the sunset in the tub and woke up early to watch the sun rise from the tub again. Bathroom is insanely beautiful and the bed/sheets/pillows were all lush, clean and comfortable. If you're looking for a place to stay while you explore the country this is NOT it because you will NEVER want to leave the room. Staff was friendly and service was fantastic. The food wasn't as incredible as you would hope considering the prices but it was still enjoyable and if you factor the amazing view and awesome pool into the price its acceptable. Overall would definitely recommend a stay in the Penthouse to anyone looking for an extravagant, romantic stay.

We enjoyed our family outing to Garten Hotel, the facilities are very nice and well maintained. Everyone we interacted with was very polite, and Jaime our waiter for our dinner was amazing. He went the extra mile to get us set up for breakfast the next day on the rooftop and configured the tables and umbrellas so our little ones would be well covered from the heat and sun. Overall, the hotel is small but that is its big strenght, it feels more like your friend's beach house with staff rather than a big resort. I personally enjoyed that and the people that were there were all respectful, no one blasting music or being a nuisance. the beach access from the Villas is not far at all on foot, but they take you there via golf cart anyways, the Villas are perfect for families. A great hotel, excellent service, a beautiful property and the proximity to the beach is unmatched. Went to relax after a friends wedding and it was perfect! The staff was very nice and attentive. We are definitely recommending this place to everyone in the states. El Salvador was safe, warm and we cant wait to vacation back there in the winter!
