"Review of Hotel Michanti, El Salvador: Positives: The location is fantastic! The hotel is just steps away from an amazing beach, making it easy to enjoy the sun and surf. I highly recommend getting up early to catch the beautiful sunrise. The outdoor decor is nice and inviting, creating a relaxed atmosphere for a chill getaway. Negatives: We arrived late at night (around 10 PM), and the staff member who showed us to our room did not provide any information about the Wi-Fi, where to refill water, or breakfast times—essential details that travelers typically need after a long flight. My husband had to step outside to gather this information on his own. When you arrive at a hotel, you expect a warm welcome and a brief orientation, but instead, the staff member simply walked us to our room, opened the door, and left. Additionally, there was construction scheduled for the following morning, which was mentioned in a message we received the night we checked in. Unfortunately, this resulted in a complete loss of Wi-Fi and electricity for the entire morning. Given the price we paid, I would consider staying elsewhere next time. I really wanted to enjoy my stay, but service is a crucial aspect of any hotel experience. If the staff had been aware of the outages, they could have at least apologized or provided us with some information during check-in. Overall, Hotel Michanti has a great location, and the breakfast was good, though a bit pricey. However, the customer service left something to be desired."

"The facilities here are generally outdated, and this is considered the best hotel in the area. Our group of four friends checked in, and breakfast cost over 300 RMB per serving, but it was incredibly basic. Ordering extra at the hotel would only cost $10. The funny thing is, breakfast for the four of us only included one serving of yogurt, so we had to share it? Orange juice was also only included in the breakfast, and refills cost extra. Unbelievable!"

"It hasn't been long since it opened, so it is very clean, and the owner and staff are all incredibly friendly. Although it is close to the main road, it is very quiet at night compared to other accommodations. I highly recommend it!!! Just be careful when walking around late at night, as dogs bark in the alleyways!!"

"The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the doors lock with keys, which made the room feel secure. It is a great place for surfers, especially because of the location and the relaxed atmosphere. I stayed in a private room with a big bed, a table, a shelf and AC, which I could adjust myself. The bathroom was shared with one other room, so it still felt quite private. The room was cleaned after check-out or, depending on the number of nights, also in between. Since I had the room to myself, it never felt dirty. There is also a small store with the essentials integrated, which is very convenient, and there are two restaurants directly there as well. Overall, it was a top experience and I would definitely recommend staying here, especially for surfers looking for a relaxed stay in El Zonte. :)"

"My friend stayed here for a few nights before I flew into El Salvador and joined her. I didn’t end up staying, but she loved her room and pretty much everything about the hotel (especially the staff)! I arrived into the country around 6.30am and headed straight to El Zonte to join my friend, arriving just after 8am — and only stayed at the hotel until 1pm, when we moved on to another location. Speaking of which, this hotel is definitely all about location location location! My friend’s room was very spacious and appeared clean. Staff were super friendly and the breakfast I had upon arrival was delicious (my first meal in El Salvador!). Loved the sound of the waves breaking and children’s laughter from the river throughout my brief half-day visit."
