My husband and I reserved a room in July for a two night stay end of Sep. We spoke to a delightful young lady who was so excited to tell us about the special rate they could offer us which included breakfast for two. We agreed to the rate, reserved the room and received an email confirmation of the booking. One week before our arrival we get a call from the hotel saying that their agent made a mistake, the rate does not exist and if we wanted to stay it would have to be at the current rate. The current rate was twice the amount which was confirmed to us and it did not include breakfast. The manager was very rude and condescending. After much discussion with him we asked to speak to the owner. She called us back and was equally rude and condescending. We asked if we could come to some sort of compromise. We understand people make mistakes so let’s work together. If we pay the room rate you are asking (twice the price we were confirmed) would you include breakfast? Absolutely not she says. If you don’t like it you are welcome to go elsewhere! I am a retired agent and never in my career have I ever dealt with a business with such deplorable customer service. It may be a lovely place to stay but just know that when you book this hotel they might change the rate on you.

We stayed at this lovely hotel for an overnight stay. We were off to the Sportsman in Seasalter to celebrate our anniversary. Ideally located, very comfortable accommodation at a very good price. The pub has been refurbished to a very high standard, nice looking restaurant and bar area with outdoor covered gazebo. We opted for a standard room. It had a nice superking bed, very clean and good quality linens. Good strong shower, fan provided. Honesty bar on the landing, with wine, chocolates and little treats which you could pick up if you wanted and be charged to your room later, very nice touch. Very good hospitality, friendly staff. A great stay, recommended.

Arrived for Sunday lunch thinking we would have a roast - no, not on the menu! My parents had been a couple of weeks ago and loved it; chatting with the owner who seemed delightful. Sadly, the experience today was hugely disappointing. The food took a long time to come, the risotto went back as just too salty as was the spinach side. Everything with chips, lacking in choice of sides no other vegetables or potatoes. Upset parents. Frontline staff took the brunt of our continued complaints as the owner was out. We will not recommend which is a shame as the whole pub has been upgraded and the decor now is very nice and massive improvement. Maybe it was just an off day, who knows we won’t return.

Very welcoming staff who were happy to greet us. Lovely room. Comfortable bed with soft cosy pillows. Small ensuite had a powerful shower which is always a plus! Coffee/tea making facilities were first class. Restaurant meals were delicious and breakfast was great with a lovely range of dishes to choose from. We would heartily recommend this lovely Inn for a visit in this area of Kent. Well situated for visits to Canterbury, Whitstable and Ramsgate.

Everything about this wonderful inn is just perfect. Checked in by a warm and friendly guy who explained everything. Our room had lovely extra touches like homemade shortbread and real coffee and a cafetière. The bed was super comfy with lovely bed linen. Was pleasantly surprised by the size of the bathroom and powerful shower considering it’s a 16c inn. Dinner was delicious, great menu and great service. We loved our stay and look forward to returning.

This was a great find. Friendly welcome, good food (evening meal and breakfast) and a clean comfortable room. The location is in a quiet town but handy for the main roads so exploring Kent or getting to the channel ports is easy.

My husband and I stayed for 1 night at the White Horse, which was excellent value and on our way to the ferry port (35 mins drive). We found all the staff welcoming, attentive and helpful. Breakfast and dinner was served in the lovely restaurant of the 15th century inn with lots of character. The rooms are very comfy, nice towels and toiletries and a plush bed. There is an honesty bar and snacks at the end of the corridor which is a nice touch. We would have no hesitation in making a return visit to this charming hotel. Keep up the good work.

We did arrive a little earlier than scheduled, however we were checked in and asked if we would like to have a cool drink in the bar, whilst we waited; no problem as it gave us an opportunity to look around this charming restaurant with rooms/hotel. Our ground floor room was large as was the bathroom, which has a walk in wet room area. Bed was a tad firm, but extra pillows were in place as requested. A busy road, so a room at the rear of the hotel is a good idea, they do provide ear plugs! Great position near Faversham and Whitstable. We also visited Ramsgate, with history and connections with the Dunkirk evacuation, the town is quite run down. Food at the hotel was from an excellent menu, cooked and served with skill. The young antipodean owners are on top of their game, as are most of the staff. Try to get room Number One, and for more than one night. Enjoy.

We arranged to go out to dinner with a couple of old friends that we hadn't seen for a while. We had a table booked in the restaurant for 8pm. When we arrived we were shown to our table. There were two large tables set up in the centre of the restaurant. The one nearest to our table had probably in excess of twenty people on it and it was very noisy. During the course of our meal the noise was such that it was barely possible to have a conversation on our table. In fact the waitress had trouble hearing us when she took our orders. The delay between courses was a bit long and we had to ask for a jug of water three times before one was delivered. As the other diners started to finish their meal, a number of them grouped themselves near the bar, which was near our table, talking very loudly with loutish behaviour and using foul language. Having eaten our food when a table became free in the small bar close by we moved to a table there to finish our bottle of wine. It was much quieter here. When we asked for our bill there was optional 12.5% service charge which we decided not to pay. I also sked for about a 10% reduction on the bill because of the amount of noise in the restaurant where we had eaten our meal. The manager refused my request and at times got quite confrontational. I told him that this was our fifth time eating at his restaurant. He obviously didn't believe me. Up until this time on previous occasions the front of house had been handled by a tall lady who chatted to us and was very nice By now all the management seemed to be interested in was serving drinks and cocktails to these two large party's. I said to the manager that it was unlikely to return to the restaurant. He made a reply something like you can find another pub to rip off! We paid our bill and left! I suggest if you book here you make sure there are no large parties booked into the dining room.
