Very friendly and welcoming hosts. Location was about 15 min walk (depending on how fast you walk) to the main action along the river. Room was spacious and well equipped but could use some maintenance and extra cleaning in the bathroom -- dirty walls, flickering lights, moldy shower non-slip mat, almost empty mismatched shower supplies and hard water stains on the faucets. The soaking tub on the outdoor balcony was dirty (not surprised since it is outdoors, but did not seem like it had been cleaned in a while). Why do I need two garbage cans beside the toilet? Would not stay again on account of cleanliness.

We recently concluded a stay that left us significantly disappointed. While the hotel's location is commendable—situated on the quieter side and offering convenient access, approximately a ten-minute walk, to local food and beverage establishments—the overall experience was unsatisfactory due to several key factors. Facility Condition and Appearance The hotel is in clear need of a comprehensive maintenance overhaul. The property, particularly the reception area, appeared tired and worn, suggesting a lack of ongoing upkeep. Furthermore, the guest room, while functional, did not meet expectations, as the website imagery presented a notably superior impression compared to the actual accommodations. Service Standards The level of service provided was lukewarm and noticeably below the standard experienced at other hotels we have visited in China. Staff members were not as friendly or as eager to serve as we have come to expect. We must, however, commend the elderly staff member who prepared the noodles; her friendly and approachable demeanor was a solitary highlight of the service. Breakfast Quality and Selection The breakfast provision was extremely substandard and unacceptable. The offering was horrendously meager, consisting only of hard-boiled eggs, plain porridge with Sichuan vegetable, pork buns, and cooked noodles. Essential breakfast items were entirely absent, including, but not limited to, fruit juice, yogurt, bread/toast, cold cuts, and any variety of hot prepared dishes. The selection was truly miserable. In conclusion, the various deficiencies in maintenance, service attitude, and especially the breakfast quality resulted in a very disappointing experience. We urge management to address these issues promptly.

About a 20min walk to the touristy part of the town. Room was big and clean with great views over the river, especially at night.

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is great—slightly away from the main tourist areas, so it’s peaceful and less crowded, yet still very convenient. There are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, making it easy to find food and essentials. The hotel faces the river, offering a nice view, and you don’t have to drag your luggage over any rocky paths—the car can drive right up to the entrance, which is a big plus. We stayed in the rooftop room on the 4th floor. While there’s no elevator, the staff were very helpful and carried our luggage up during check-in and back down when we checked out. The owner and staff were all friendly and accommodating, which made the stay even more enjoyable.

The hotel is very beautiful, both outside design and in the room. There is no elevator but the hotel staff help us move the luggage up and down. The room is very clean and cozy. We booked a room of four and another room of two. There is a corridor which your will see the river view and the bridge. This zone is far from the old town about 1.5km but very quiet and peaceful. We cantact the hotel for picking us up from train station. The hotel staff, Xiao Long (小龙管家) took very good care of us from the start until we leave the town. We will stay here again if we come back to Fenghuang.

The hotel is beautiful, but a little far away from the ancient town, about 15 minutes walk. The staff speaks no English, they are very lazy and not so helpful. It seems as if they are not willing or happy to work.
