We recently concluded a stay that left us significantly disappointed. While the hotel's location is commendable—situated on the quieter side and offering convenient access, approximately a ten-minute walk, to local food and beverage establishments—the overall experience was unsatisfactory due to several key factors.
Facility Condition and Appearance
The hotel is in clear need of a comprehensive maintenance overhaul. The property, particularly the reception area, appeared tired and worn, suggesting a lack of ongoing upkeep. Furthermore, the guest room, while functional, did not meet expectations, as the website imagery presented a notably superior impression compared to the actual accommodations.
Service Standards
The level of service provided was lukewarm and noticeably below the standard experienced at other hotels we have visited in China. Staff members were not as friendly or as eager to serve as we have come to expect. We must, however, commend the elderly staff member who prepared the noodles; her friendly and approachable demeanor was a solitary highlight of the service.
Breakfast Quality and Selection
The breakfast provision was extremely substandard and unacceptable. The offering was horrendously meager, consisting only of hard-boiled eggs, plain porridge with Sichuan vegetable, pork buns, and cooked noodles. Essential breakfast items were entirely absent, including, but not limited to, fruit juice, yogurt, bread/toast, cold cuts, and any variety of hot prepared dishes. The selection was truly miserable.
In conclusion, the various deficiencies in maintenance, service attitude, and especially the breakfast quality resulted in a very disappointing experience. We urge management to address these issues promptly.
