Hotel La Gemma

Florence Historic Center Florence|0.47km from S. Michele Arcangelo Visdomini
When we arrived at Hotel La Gemma, it had been opened a grand total of 15 days. But no one could tell because Gianluca, the Hotel Manager, was in charge and everything was already in full swing and running smoothly. Gianluca himself showed us to our suite and made us feel welcomed. He was warm, engaging and very helpful throughout our 3-night stay. He even showed me how to make the stamps stick on my postcard by gently peeling off the back of them - they were adhesive like stickers. Before Gianluca came to the rescue, I was licking the back of the stamps like a fast-melting gelato but they still wouldn't stick. Gianluca also patiently walked me through the Tren Italia website to book our train tickets to Venice - all on my mobile phone. Eduardo at the Front Desk was earnest, lively and of great assistance. At breakfast, Luca the waiter was very good at explaining the extensive menu and choices available. He was solicitous and anticipated our needs. We missed him when he was not on duty. The hotel’s location is excellent, right in the heart of Florence and a stone’s throw from the Post Office. It is a very short walk to Piazza Republica, Ponte Vecchio and the beautiful landscape of the River Arno. The rooms are very well-appointed; huge comfy beds with fluffy pillows, a wide array of fragrant toiletries and, thick body-encompassing towels. The impression is one of old-world sophistication and luxury. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning to Hotel La Gemma.

Palazzo Niccolini Al Duomo Residenza d'Epoca

Excellent in every possible way, the Palazzo Niccolini al Duomo will make you feel cared for at the highest level at a location that is not to be believed. The lobby and lounge area is charming, serving a lovely breakfast. The rooms (I stayed in the Grand Suite, though all are fantastic) are elegant with frescos and antique furniture, while still being comfortable. And the location is jaw-dropping with immediate access and views of the Duomo. But it is the EXCEPTIONAL staff that made this a memorable experience. From the welcoming front desk staff, to the charming & caring night manager, I felt like I was staying with close friends in a gorgeous home.

The location of the acomodation is incredible, it's just next to the Catedral. There are many restaurants and bars around, and a Carrefour express, where you can buy drinks and food. Our room and bed was huge, and super comfy! The bathroom served perfectly, especially the shower with amazing hot water :) we had a fridge, kettle, aircom and some tea in the room what was a really nice extra. Everything was absolutely clean and spot on. There was no noise in the room, we could sleep perfectly. The breakfast was really good as well, the caffe was very tasty and the food good. The costumer service is the absolutely best, they want to be sure that you're comfy and happy. They contact you on WhatsApp, they give you information about the city, nice ideas etc. Before we arrived to the acomodation, I mentioned them that we went to celebrate our anniversary, so they prepared even a Proseco to our room. With the check out they were absolutely flexibley we could leave our room at 14:00 o'clock without any extra fee. I highly recommend this place, we will definitely return!!! Thank you!!! :)

I personally like it better, facing the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, and going out is the queue 😄. Within 1 km of the surrounding area, there are many attractions, many restaurants, and many shops. If you are tired, go back to the hotel and rest before you come out to continue. Very convenient! The hotel service is very good, the front desk is small, but you must answer any questions, there are people on duty 24 hours, everything will be resolved immediately. There is also a 24-hour beverage bar, coffee and tea sparkling water, cookies, and sweet wine before going to bed. You can pick it up at any time. The funniest thing is to wear it in pajamas. Although the facilities and equipment are flawed, they are pretty good. They have everything and there is an elevator, but up to three people, the room is small, the bed is good enough to sleep comfortably, but the luggage cannot be spread out. The bathroom is also small, so you have to be slower and slower when you take a bath. The breakfast is ok, just a normal Italian hotel breakfast, not very rich but it has everything. There are not many rooms, it should be 16-20 rooms, so when booking a room, it is recommended to book the best room, the view is very good, the window opens to the cathedral, and the room with a terrace is on the other side.

More recommended! Good location, just opposite the Virgin Flower next door, no more than 20 meters in a straight line. Good service, clean and tidy, clean and tidy the room every day. The only thing is that the extra bed is a shelf bed, which is the most uncomfortable extra bed in our entire Rome trip. In Siena, Venice are mattresses, in Rome and Milan, although they are also shelves, but they are relatively wide, there are no hard bars in the bed. The extra bed in this house has been narrow and the mattress is thin. The most uncomfortable thing is a hard bar in the middle. After sleeping for a few days, the old waist injuries I have not committed in more than a dozen times have hurt. For your reference.

Very spacious room, clean beddings. Breakfast had a nice variety of pastries, jams and cereal. 5 minute walk to Opera di Santa Maria, the city centre, close to food stores at night

The room is small, but the front desk staff is very friendly, and they can help to book the zaza steakhouse. It is very close to the Baihua Cathedral and you can see it when you open the window. It will be high until 11 o'clock in the evening, and the soundproofing is not very good.
