I NEVER write reviews and I ALWAYS take a bad review with a grain of salt however DO NOT STAY at Kahari! I must say I read and read all the negative reviews and was extremely nervous about staying here. I joined a Facebook group and asked repeatedly if Kahari was a good idea. I decided not to go with my gut and try it out. I was wrong. It was by far the worst vacation I have ever had and we actually left early. When we first arrived on the barrier island where Kahari is located we checked in with another couple that arrived with us. Then the woman that checked us in tried to help both of us with to our Bunglow. So there was one women helping 4 people to there room. NO ONE ELSE! We stopped off at the market before hand and we alone had a case of water, food, beer, and soda plus our luggage. It was a joke. We had to bring most everything to the room ourselves. The room was just ok. Definitely not worth the $900 a night. It smelled, was small and needs updating. The air conditioning unit did not work well. I did love the outdoor shower but it had hair in the drain from the last person or persons that was there. I totally get that but your cleaning staff should clean that not me. We changed rooms because of the air conditioner. When I went to the place you check in to ask about changing rooms I left my sunglasses there. When I went back 10 minutes later they were gone. Great way to start a vacation with someone stealing your sunglasses. I do not want to stay a staff person did it but when you are spending $900 a night on a room do you need a pair of sunglasses?! The beach was beautiful and the water was amazing, however there are not enough chairs and they were dirty and gross. Full of sand from the previous day. No one cleans them. We had to use the same beach towels and did not get clean ones. And there is not a staff member in sight when you are laying out. No food, no water, no drinks. NOTHING!!! CRAZY! The service is sub pair. In fact that they can be rude and most are NOT friendly. Some were NASTY AND RUDE! We only ate on the property for breakfast and the menu was VERY limited and the food was just ok. And the waiter made us feel like we were annoying. We were supposed to stay 4 nights. We stayed 1. I met 2 nice couples and their experiences was the same. I am telling you if you want a luxury vacation this is NOT THE PLACE. If you want to be totally off the grid and not have any interaction with people at all I would say try it.

Aesthetically pleasing but that is it. Would rate staff 0. Previous reviews say no one to help bags, and I thought what whiners…. Well, if you stock up at the store in Georgetown, ( as you should because they charge 8 dollars for a small can of Pringle’s and the restaurants are sporadically open) they give you bad look when you ask if someone will help and the path is not especially user friendly. We are in our early 40’s with 3 kids and don’t necessarily need help but it was some work with luggage/provisions … Rooms are not cleaned well, beach chairs/tables not cleaned for days, trash overflowing, eyes rolled when asking for a drink/lunch…. Only thing happy to see you is the hungry kitty on the property. Rent a house or stay somewhere cheaper. 900 dollars a night to fend for yourself is not preparing yourself for a ‘rustic’ experience… this staff does not want you here or trying to give you a decent experience….

This resort is a joke! You do not get what you pay for here and it is an absolute rip off. Stayed here with my wife and the their Beacon restaurant was definitely not a world class dining experience like they claim. It’s super duper basic/oversalted meals that are way overpriced for what you get. You are SO much better off getting a meal on the main island for a fraction of the price. No one was ever available to assist us at any time and they never picked up their phone, which is so dangerous! What if there was an emergency?! The reception area was abandoned anytime we walked by with no one in sight to help with anything - you’re kinda just on your own once you arrive. The boat transfer system is not punctual at all and very unreliable so good luck trying to make your off-site excursions on time. There was one guy who typically operated the transfer boats who was always in a bad mood and got upset if you asked him any kind of question. This is supposed to be a luxury resort and it’s FAR from it. You are supposed to feel like all the money you spent was well worth it and we went home feeling robbed, which is not something we have ever felt on this level ever before, and we’ve done lots of traveling all over the world! This place needs to be shut down immediately or taken over by a new owner that will make drastic changes to their operations and staff training. Travelers are getting ripped off and it’s not cool to have fallen victim of it and also to see many others experiencing the same. I never write reviews but I am passionate about putting this out there because the people need to know and this place needs to be exposed. My observation is that the resort seems to have been a lot better in the past but it’s been taken over recently by new management and they are not running the place properly and are taking advantage of people who don’t know any better. The best way to describe this place is that it is a straight up scam, especially because of the rates they charge are no where NEAR what you get. Please if you are reading this, do yourself a favor and spend your money somewhere else, you will regret investing your hard earned money here. Don’t fall into the same trap that we and many others have.

Pros; location. The water is crystal clear, the beaches are breathtaking. The boat that went to the mainland hourly ran on time the whole time we were there (7 days). Cons: bedbugs. My husband, daughter and I are covers in bites. I reached out to the resort to tell them and they have not responded at all. I cannot believe I just paid $785 a night to stay there. We chose not to pay the extra $2,400 for the all inclusive option. Thank goodness. We were on the beach every day and on only day was there any employee that walked around asking if guests wanted beverages. We went to the restaurant the first night we arrived. We had 6:30 reservations. We were told that the only menu options that were available were a salad, a soup, polenta and mashed potatoes. We were so hungry we ordered everything available. 2 hours later our food had not come out so we left. The staff members are not rude, just seems like they don’t really care. Very disappointed.

Spent 6 nights at Kahari for our honeymoon and it was the perfect blend of stunning location, friendly staff and unobtrusive service. We originally planned to do some excursions, but barely left stunning property other than to hike, paddleboard, kayak or chill at nearby chat & chill! When we did leave, we were eager to come back. The food is pricey but the location makes ip for it. We tried a few other restaurants on Stocking and Exuma and the Beacon and the Beach Club were wayyy better. We also did the candlelight dinner on the beach, which was really special. Chef Valerio is a true talent (having trained in Michelin starred restaurants in Paris and Milan) but his talents might be a bit wasted here.., we appreciated them!!! Also Nicole went above and beyond for us, she is a gem. Giavante at the Beach Bar was also always ready with a big smile. We will be back!

Lovely, quiet resort on Stocking Island. Our room was lovely, bed comfortable. Couldn't have asked for more there. The Peace & Plenty Beach Bar was very nice there. The Conch Salad prepared by Shepard was one of the best things I've ever tasted. Amazingly good. One of highlights of the trip. We also enjoyed the wraps at the Beach bar there.

Stayed 9 nights in bungalow 6 on the beach. Bungalow was beautiful, roomy, comfortable with a great view! All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping did a great job. Lamon was very nice and helpful! Ate dinner at The Beacon 5 times and loved everything! The staff...Muriel, Kendon and Brandon were so nice (all staff were but can't remember all their names). The boat to and from Peace & Plenty was always on time and the staff we friendly and reliable. Highly recommend stopping at the grocery and liquor store before heading over on the boat from Peace & Plenty. Stock up on drinks and snacks. There are microwaves in the room, also a Nespresso coffee maker (brought my own original nespresso pods with me). Only suggestion would be adding Keurig coffee makers or even a regular coffee machine...the nespresso is loud when someone else is sleeping and also just makes small cups so had to run a few times for a large cup. Also they need to add full length mirrors to the bungalows. Loved the Peace & Plenty Beach Club next door....Cassandra was amazing and the sweetest! Being able to walk over to Chat N Chill was great....love that place! We would definitely stay here again and again.

Wow wow wow. What an amazing place. Wild, gorgeous. We couldn’t believe the beauty of this island. Everything is just a walk or a boat ride away. Amazing place for families to vacation! Our kids had so much fun running around and cottage hopping with the other families we went with. We will definitely be back!!

My husband and I planned a much needed vacation last year at the Kahari. We had to cancel twice due to unforeseen circumstances. The Kahari honored our reservations until we could eventually get there. We arrived in early May for 8 days. It is a beautiful spot on Stocking Island. The water and views from our room were spectacular. The staff is oh, so friendly. They are there if you need them, but will leave you alone for your own peace and quiet. Lamon, KK, Desmond and Sheppard were awesome. We became like family. The Beacon Restaurant was delicious, and Chef Tito knows exactly what he is doing in the kitchen! Chocolate and all the others at The Beach Club were amazing. They are the best drinks in Exuma! All the boat captains took very good care of us as we traveled back and forth from the main island and Stocking. Azya, the property manager, was ever so helpful with our reservations and anything else important that we needed. We cannot wait to go back! Thank you Kahari for giving us the vacation we truly needed!
