An experience like no other. Definitely worth every cent!! We should have stayed for longer. Loads of activities to do. The rooms were lovely. Staff were so friendly and the beach and snorkeling was insane.

The only hotel in Greenland. I stayed for one night because I thought I wouldn't have enough time for a day tour. The staff were friendly and I had a great time. You must see the snails at night!!

Although the room is not new, it is well maintained, but there is no quilt. I stayed in late July. It was still a bit cold without a quilt at night, so I had to take the thin blanket in the closet. There is a free shuttle boat from Cairns to Green Island when staying at Green Island Resort. It takes about 40 minutes to arrive. It is free to go to DIVE SHOP to get snorkeling equipment and glass boats when staying on the island, but there may not be underwater photography equipment to borrow. Try to bring your own or borrow it in the city. If breakfast is not included, you can bring some food and water to Green Island. Green Island has only one fast food restaurant, one formal restaurant and one cafe, and the food is limited! There are some self-funded projects on the island, such as parasailing, helicopter or boat to a farther place for snorkeling, choose according to your needs. You can snorkel in the shallower place near the island with younger children, and you can also see beautiful small fish!

We spent 2 nights here and had the perfect time! The stuff was friendly, very accommodating and patient. The rooms were lovely, spacious, luxurious and immaculately clean. All of course in a dream location. As expected the food was a bit expensive but not overpriced for an island. It was delicious and well presented. A few more vegetarian options would have been welcome but the desserts made up for it !

We had a wonderful time at the Green Island Resort as part of a 3 night package. The accommodation in a Reef Suite was excellent. Guests also had the use of a private pool as well as a larger one open to the public. Our package included breakfasts and a nightly sunset drink. The latter was rather disappointing, with a half-filled plastic cup of wine served from a trolley with no seating close by. This should really be a relaxing opportunity for resort guests to socialise. The bar was also a little dull. Live music and later closing could make it a more popular place after the day visitors have departed. Breakfasts were good but the main restaurant, Emeralds, was disappointing. The service was very ordinary and the food wasn't what we'd consider resort quality. Overall, the resort staff were very good. Those at the reception desk were particularly helpful and our room was made up perfectly each day. The island itself, largely national park, was a delight. There are supervised areas for various water activities, beach umbrellas and lounges, and interesting walks along beaches and through rainforest. Despite some shortcomings we'd highly recommend a stay here, particularly as part of a package including a visit to the outer reef.

This is truly an amazing island and when the weather is perfect the place is truly stunning to arrive at. The resort itself is well laid out and the rooms very clean and tasteful. We had rooms overlooking the private pool for residents and they were all fantastic. The staff were very helpful and polite from the reception to the cleaners, I only have positive comments to make. There are, however, some negatives in staying on this beautiful island. The first is the amount of day tourists that come to the island, which doesn't bother you if you stay in the confines of the resort, but if you venture out to the beach, shop, bar or eateries it can be a nightmare! The same applies when venturing out on day trips to the reef or even the local glass bottom boat trips. The next negative comment is the lack of variety of food in the evening when all the tourists have gone. We stayed for 6 nights and it was the same menu in the same venue each night. We were told the menu had not changed at all in the last few years! There was limited things to choose from and all were outdated. We had a very bad experience on the first evening (a Saturday night) when the executive chef was not on the island, with overcooked, burnt seafood, overcooked steak and some of being given gluten free pasta when not ordered - which is not that pleasant if you are not gluten intolerant! Even the restaurant manager was concerned about what we received, she was very good and we did not pay for the food. Other nights just to change things up a bit we ate of the room service menu, which seemed marginally better. Having stayed in many resorts around the country I personally was disappointed with no slightly special treatment for my 60th - not a free chocolate, bottle of wine, card - nothing - and they knew about it well in advance. Not a deal breaker but disappointing. To sum up the resort is worth a visit but not sure for a long stay such as ours.

Very Pleasant boat ride across and the walk around the island although short was very relaxing. Would love to go back and stay a while.

Mixed feelings about this place. There is a special vibe of being on a tiny island with a rainforest on the edge of the Great Barrier Reef but it's quickly replaced by the impression that it is severely mismanaged. The entire shoreline of the island is littered with plastic debris, mostly washed up. No one is cleaning it. As an "eco resort" this is a huge red flag. Another red flag is the excessively cold air-con than runs 24/7, even in empty rooms. This apparently stops mold growing - there must be better ways to prevent mold. Leaf blowers start at 6am - not what you want to hear on a remote island holiday. The food is awful and extremely expensive, and with only one restaurant option at night, you have little to choose from. Nothing is fresh. All food is frozen. Each fortnight they get one food delivery on a barge which is frozen to last 2 weeks - meaning they run low on supplies. 3 to 4 boatloads of tourists arrive each day - fresh food could be delivered to the island on these boats but it's not. Instead, it's an oversupply of pushy and rude tourists. Another red flag is the animal cruelty aspect - dark pools in the middle of the island house crocodiles that have been there since the 70's. It's very sad and I'm sure animal lovers would be appalled. The rooms are nice but you can hear your neighbours conversations and mobile phones very clearly. The staff seem a bit miserable - lots of them are just fulfilling their visa requirements and it shows. Quicksilver Group own the boats, the island and the reef tours. The island and reef seem heavily exploited and run-down. They needs to scale back the number of visitors and elevate the island experience to match the exorbitant prices.

Arrived on island before lunch had an awesome cup of coffee and a leisurely stroll around the island. The facilities there were absolutely fantastic. We will return for a couple of nights on the island. I’m sure the sunset over the island would be to die for. Although we only spent a couple of hours on the island it was relaxing and most enjoyable. The boat ride to and from the island only 3/4 of an hour away each way was really enjoyable.
