Stayed at Tropicana from 18th-29th October as a solo traveller ( first ever solo trip ). Had problems with the first room as location was at the end of a long pathway and felt very out of the way. Also, unfortunately, I was not getting any hot water for showering. Receptionist & Jet2 member of staff arranged for me to move rooms. 2nd room was up 1 flight of stairs right by reception area with wonderful views overlooking the pool and beach. More importantly I had lovely hot water. Room was a basic standard double room but came with a fridge, kettle & toastie machine. Room was spotless if a little tired looking but comfortable bed. All the staff at hotel were lovely from room attendant to managerial staff. Prices for food and drink were slightly more expensive than local restaurants near beach area but not rip off prices in comparison to prices here in the UK. Overall hotel had a fairly quiet vibe seeing as it was nearing the end of the season and hotel closed for the season on 1st November. Hotel was good value for money with excellent flights from Jet2.

The hotel is set at the quiet end of Gumbet bay, far enough away from the noise but close enough to walk to the shops and restaurants. The staff are amazing, very friendly and welcoming, the love a laugh and a joke and general camaraderie. The rooms are spacious and cleaned every day. The pool is kept spotless. There is a shop, bar and restaurant on site. Board includes self catering, B&B, or half board. I've been going since 2012 and can't think of a negative experience. You can book a package deal, or email the hotel to book the room and flights separate, transfer via taxi is £40 each way, or £70 for return transfer with Carlos Carlos via Facebook.

Just returned from a stay at the Tropicana, stayed here before quite a few years ago. I love the relaxed vibe about it and the very spacious apartments, though a chest of drawers would be a massive help in the bedroom. Excellent staff and facilities. My only negative, would be the Siesta next door using the hotel, beach and pool. They should have booked the Tropicana in the first place? There's a guy on the beach opposite the hotel, who looks after the sunbeds, but doesn't really monitor it well enough, people in the Jasmin and siesta were using the beds, sometimes he told them no and pointed to their beach area or just ignored them and carried on chatting to his friends or just sat and smoked. It was easy if it was the Jasmin, as they wore blue wristbands, as it was an all inclusive, perhaps the Tropicana and Siesta should have their own coloured wrist bands, just to make it easier? Being by the pool was almost an all inclusive vibe, you definitely got better service there, food and drinks being brought to your beds, but the beds are very close together and big groups of people hung out together laughing, smoking ,which if you want to chill would be impossible, equally the siesta were told they could use the pool, so limited your use of that area. The supermarket had very limited choice, drinks at the bar were expensive and the food ok. We chose to go out every night for food, as there's lots of choice in the main town or along the coastal path. The walk into Gumbet town by road, was very dark in places and the pavement uneven, didn't feel very safe, equally the coastal path was dirty and dark in places too, it just looked tired and lots of litter around. I would recommend a visit to Bitez, very chilled out place, fab places to eat and spotless, no sellers hassling you, equally preferred Bodrum by night, great places to eat and you have the castle and harbour. I would of course come back and appreciate when you choose this time of year to come away, with it being the end of season, you can just tell workers at hotels/restaurants/shops can't wait to finish, so maybe the service isn't as attentive, as at the start and thru the summer months. Cleaners and bar staff at Tropicana always cheerful tho.

Although the rooms need upgrading, they were cleaned everyday with clean towels daily. But the staff were super friendly and helpful the food excellent, lovely pool and a calm beach literally a few steps across the road, bars and supermarkets in easy walking distance with more bars, restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. We will definitely return next year

What a lovely stay we had. The rooms are spacious & cleaned everyday. Plenty of fresh towels. The pool and bar area is really nice. The staff are so helpful, friendly, caring and hard working. Nothing is too much trouble. We were self catering and enjoyed seversl meals at the Hotel. They were reasonably priced, plentiful, tasty and well presented, The location is beautiful. We've booked again for next year because we loved it so much. Gumbet is a beautiful place and the people are so friendly, funny and hospitable.

Holidayed end of August 2024, myself and 2, 8 year olds. Were greeted around 10pm at night by a really nice bloke, friendly set everything up, arranged AC for the week at £5 a day, and had our bags taken to the room, upstairs and along a really nice archway corridor with plants growing all over so started the holiday off well. Rooms are nice, clean, basic, beds are comfy, good shower, had a hairdryer, small tv, kitchen area, fridge, nice balcony which in room 319 we were away from the main pool area, but even at night it wasn’t too noisy. Cooker was just a 2 ring hob, but we didn’t plan in staying in and cooking anyway, so no issue. For the money spent, as it was a last minute looking to pick something up cheap, I was happy with what we had. We spent a lot of time in and around the hotel, and I have nothing but praise for the cleanliness, staff were all great, and I mean that, they helped, made sure you were looked after, played pool with my son, and worked tirelessly to look after us. The pool is great, never had an issue getting a sun bed, and yes towels were out after 9 when the pool opens, but no issue at all with numbers, only thing it’s not set up for very young children. There is a very small pool around the size of a hot tub for small children, but the main pool is 1.6m all over, which lucky my kids can now swim, and they loved it, but if you can’t swim, there is no shallow end. We ate in the hotel most mornings, a little pricier than going out to a café, full breakfast 400 lire, approx. £10 with a coffee, but the convenience and quality was good, kids would have pancakes etc for around £3, egg on toast £2.50. Beer I found to be quite similar to being out 160 lire, and happy hour at 10 – 11 was 110 lire. Hotel is approx. 10 meters from the beach. We didn’t really use the beach much as most say the sand is rough, and because of this the water isn’t that blue, but the hotel is in a quiet part of the town, so all in all location, hotel were fantastic. I think the only negative is, if you could pick up the hotel and place it somewhere else you would. I’ve been to Turkey a lot, but first time I’ve tried Gumbet. And I was disappointed by Gumbet. To get to the closest part of town, you walk along the beach path (never found it worrying at all as it’s always busy, friendly, and that was a concern before going was it too far away walking back would be a risk with 2 kids at night) but it looks like a lot of areas have been left to ruin. Bottles left on the beach, small canals that stop short of the beach, but if it floods they are full of stagnant water, rubbish and that will all end in the sea. Parks that just look left, and other areas of water the same as the small canals left just with rubbish. You can then walk along the promenade, but its nothing more than a dusty track through trees. Or walking into town to the righ before going along the beach front, you go through a street that looks like the back of businesses, all rubbish out, wild cats

Just returned from a week at Tropicana beach hotel. 2 of us stayed in a studio apartment. We had a lovely time, the hotel is so laid back and relaxing, the rooms are really nice, clean and comfortable. The pool is lovely, and we never had trouble getting a sunbed. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and all work really hard. Breakfast is great, if you've selected bed & breakfast, you just pick from the menu. All the food we had here was really good. Tropicana is away from the main Bar street, which we preferred. We visited Bodrum a couple of times, £5 each way in a taxi. Mistral steakhouse just along the beach is great value and amazing steaks. Overall we enjoyed our break so much, and can see why people return to this hotel again and again.

What a nice relaxing hotel, this hotel has all you will ever need, we arrive at around 10.30pm and someone greats you at gate, they take all your luggage to your room for you. You will need to pay 35.00 for a week for the air con well worth it in the Aug heat. We had bed and breakfast and the food was amazing tell them what you want and everything is made fresh to order amazing breakfast, and lunch dinner is a very good price, good selection of drinks and cocktails too. I never once had to fight for a subbed always one around. the staff are amazing and friendly and make you feel welcome. It is very quiet place and relaxing and the beach is straight across the road. Only 150 Lira to get into town centre or you can walk along the beach in 15 min. Overall great hotel would definitely recommend.

I don't usually go for self catering but I opted for B & B. I must say the breakfast was amazing. The full English had proper bacon, sausage, beans, tomatoes, eggs, mushrooms and 2 toast. My granddaughter had pancakes every day and said they were the fluffiest she has ever tasted. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment and they were spacious. The beds were on the hard side but we still slept OK and the pillows were of good standard. The swimming pool was lovely and we never struggled to get a sunbed, no early fights to get one, you could go down most times during the day and still get one. Most of the staff were really friendly. Location wise it was a 10 minutes walk to gumbet town or you could get the bus which stops frequently outside the hotel and for 30 lira it takes you to bodrum. Really enjoyed the holiday but a few things let it down... The hotel would be even better if they had a microwave in the apartments and during our week stay there was no entertainment. I think if there was it would make a better atmosphere in the evenings. The beach right opposite the hotel was a let down as it was dirty and hard to walk into the water, you definitely need a good pair of sea shoes
