We paid a ridiculous sum for two nights in this hotel and for the price breakfast wasn't even included, the swimming pool was small and on day 1 half if it was being used for private lessons and day 2 is was closed due to 'lack of chlorine' We booked because it had a pool. The menu was not very inspiring and we could hear other guests complaining loudly about the food so we got take out. The bar shut at 10.15 on friday night and two drinks was £15.00. The carpet had a stain which looked like a clean could have sorted and breakfast was cold, expensive and the orange juice was watered down and awful. The grout round the sink looked like it had been done by a 2 year old. To top it all the room was hot and there was some terrible noise from traffic and possibly an air conditioning unit or such like so despite the earplugs got very little sleep. Total waste of money! The only good points were the staff were not rude, and it had a jacuzzi and steam room when it was open.

The hotel is located in the center of Inverness. It is simple and bright. The receptionist is patient and enthusiastic. The restaurant is on the right side of the reception. The food is very Scottish and the price is reasonable. The largest second-hand bookstore in the UK is about 100 meters away from the hotel (it was closed when we arrived). Next to it is Ness Bridge. We arrived at nearly 7 o'clock in the evening. The sky was still bright. We had dinner at a Turkish restaurant in the city center. The barbecue was very authentic. We walked along the banks of the River Ness. It was a quiet and beautiful city. As soon as we turned into the city center, the nightlife was also very lively. There were many people at the entrance of the bar and karaoke hall. We walked back to the hotel slowly. It was past 9 o'clock and the sky was still bright. We washed up and made up for the jet lag. The next morning, the hotel's buffet breakfast was very rich, with six or seven varieties of milk alone. Sit on the bank of the River Ness and enjoy the fresh morning. In short, it was a very comfortable stay.

Convenient and very close to the airport. It's just a few minutes away. It's so convenient to catch a flight in the morning. My mother doesn't have to worry about me anymore. It's a bit far from the train station. It's a new hotel.

Hotel is great and the stay was comfortable. It's quite convenient to walk to the bus station as well at the train station. The room is clean however the toilet shower doesn't has a door and the water slashes out causing whole toilet to become wet after shower. The hotel do provide bottled water in room and has a restaurant on the ground floor. The staffs are friendly and overall stay experience was amazing.

A previous reviewer was really down on the King's Club which is a newer adjunct to the older Kingsmill Hotel where the main dining room and bar are located. I'm not sure if we could both be reviewing the same place. First of all I found the staff very helpful and nor clueless as suggested. The rooms are quite nice and I really enjoyed the outdoor patio with the Inverness golf course only a few feet away. Watching and chatting with passing golfers and dog walkers was a bonus. The room was spacious with a very nice bathroom which had a separate bathtub & shower. The breakfast buffet was quite nice if not over the top and the fruit was not old as suggested and the eggs were not disgusting. In fact they were presented exactly as at the Gleneagles resort which is definitely five star. It was an easy fifteen minute walk into the heart of Inverness. Overall I would certainly recommend the King's Club.

Outstanding
GGuest UserWe enjoyed 2 nights stay here recently. Having been regular visits to this hotel over the years, it was great to return once again. Many familiar faces, with Grace on reception who is the most lovely person ever!. We were greeted by the Concierge who was as always very helpful. Welcome glass of champers was much enjoyed. Kevin the general manager, was friendly and helpful and always around during our stay. Marcus was once again in attendance and remembered us well from our previous visits. The bar and breakfast/dinner staff were all so friendly and chatty and made us feel very much “at home”. The room as always was so comfortable, bed very large and pillows which were so comfortable to sleep on. It’s a lovely touch to have the turn down service and Scottish fudge left for you in the evening. 2 bottles of complimentary water provided and a fridge. Dinner in Torrish was lovely and portion size just right. All food was presented so well and tasted as good as it looked. We had champagne afternoon tea and it was very good. Small bites of savoury and sweet which were all eaten up and enjoyed very much. More filling than it looks, so be aware if planning dinner later! Breakfast is a mix of continental and cooked breakfast with a choice for everyone available. Can’t wait for our next return trip as it’s a special hotel for sure!
GGuest UserLovely nite stay at the Royal Highland Hotel room was lovely very spacious with a kitchenette included. Had a great nites sleep staff very friendly and helpful who also stored our cases for us prior to checking in which was great.
GGuest UserGood breakfast, very helpful front desk staff, good beds and pillows, bathroom small but efficient. Toiletries minimal, but workable. Broken light fixed quickly. But the overriding issue was noise from neighbours, primarily due to thin walls. TV from one side early in the morning, and late night conversation on the other side. I don’t think they were unreasonable— just the sound insulation was poor.
GGuest UserGood hotel but, for their regular double room, over priced. The Glen Mhor is basically a collection of former B&B establishments which have been taken over and redeveloped. This means that the majority of rooms are in neighbouring buildings so a bit of a walk is involved! I have stayed here before and each time found myself in a small double room. They are clean, well decorated and fine for an overnight stay. On the downside, they tend to be so small that there is no room for a chair or workspace. This time around we opted for the breakfast package. The restaurant was right at the opposite end of the complex but the walk along to it was pleasant. The breakfast itself was excellent. Staff were incredibly attentive and the range of food on offer was very good.
Would I stay again? That would depend on the package on offer. I wouldn't opt for a 'room only' given the small size - there are plenty Premier Inns around which, to be fair, are of an equal, if not higher standard to the standard double rooms at Glen Mhor. Location is excellent for the city centre and depending when you travel, there is plenty parking available.
KkellandjDo NOT accept a room facing union street ie main entrance. There are nightclubs and fast food places. The noise until 0300 is unbelievable. Especially friday and saturday. Go riverside ONLY
AALEXD26One of the best hotels is stayed during my visit for a wedding. The welcome was very warm and the room was spotless. The staff were very helpful and kind. A special thanks for the receptionist/housekeeper who checked me in and the breakfast waitress, since they both made feel at home and very safe (as I was a solo traveler). Very close to the city center as well, only 10' on foot.
GGuest UserAll staff were very nice and friendly. The room was lovely and clean, although the hotel is a bit tired looking. Shower had no hot water, which was a pain! Breakfast was average but buffet style and plenty of it. Breakfast could easily be upgraded with better bread for toasting, not the cheap stuff! Food and drinks were hot and tasty enough. For the price, I expected a more classy breakfast.
CCccccharlieOnly stayed for one night
Very convenient for driving.
But the hotel is remote, it will be troublesome if there is no car
And there are no street lights nearby at night, it will be a bit scary
But drive ten minutes directly to the nearby city center
Free parking downstairs, very good
There is no elevator in the hotel, you can only carry your luggage upstairs.
The hotel is self-check in
At the beginning, the password error needs to call the customer service phone to deal with the password problem before opening the door.
But the problem was solved soon.
