The hotel is not in the city center but it takes more than 20 minutes by bus, opposite is the forest. The room is on the first floor, the windows can be locked, there is no kettle, it may be borrowed at the front desk, the room is not large, the water heater may not be the conventional method of opening and closing, so I do n’t know if the phone came in at night and asked if I knew the front desk number Is n’t that because they do n’t use this water heater ... Breakfast is good and the sun is plentiful.

Of course, a hotel was also necessary for the European Supercup. The hotel is, honestly, already used properly. My room was rather small and the bathroom was also rather small and feels little space for the toilet. The brightness to the walk and the neighbouring rooms is also given. However, I have very well sleeped there. Legendary is also the micro lift, in which actually only one person fits. For that purpose the check-in was friendly and quick. The Wi-Fi was also very good. Also breakfast was OK. Here there was a solid selection of sauce, cheese, marmelade, musli, yoghurt, rhei, fruit etc. In particular the bread was really good. Small tip: Let you give a room behind and not to the side where the tram is driving. Otherwise you hear it very strongly. There are enough free parking facilities around the hotel. There is a supermarket to do so.

Scandic Pasila was a great place - good price, beautiful rooms, fabulous breakfast, super service and close to modes of transportation. It's about a 12 minute walk from the Tripla Mall which is a railway stop. We could catch trains easily to the waterfront area where we caught trams to other parts of the city. The system is easy and convenient. There is even a tram stop right outside the hotel and we used that line several times. Our room had twin beds that pushed together to make a king-size bed. We had plenty of floor and storage space, a small fridge, desk, closet and nice, roomy bathroom. The windows had room darkening shades that helped with outside light at night. The nicest feature was that the floor of the bathroom was HEATED as well as the several-layer towel racks! It was nice to not feel cold on your feet in the bathroom and it was easy to rinse clothing items out and dry them on the towel racks - very nice! The hotel is big and well maintained. The staff helped with every question or need we had. We never encountered anyone unwilling too help us. The breakfast area is huge but can get congested if there is a conference in town or the hotel is full. You can take food to your room but we found space every day in the dining room. The food was plentiful and varied: meats, cheeses, vegetables, fruits, yogurt, granola, cereals, breads, rolls, jams, muffins, breakfast casseroles, eggs, desserts, candy, hot and cold drinks. We will definitely stay there again and we will suggest it to friends traveling to Helsinki.

I had a very good sleep in this hotel. My room on 5th floor was facing the backyard of the Expo and Convention Centre, so the view was not even close to beautiful, but room was very quiet. Thanks to the efficient air conditioning, it was easy to get my room to cool enought for a good sleep. However, I would have preferred a softer bed and pillows. The room was clean and it had everything I needed for one night stay. Breakfast buffet was nice, nothing surprising though. The service was ok. As a Finn travelling in Finland I think the staff should be able to speak fluent Finnish, for example to to ensure the service level of elderly people. Unfortunately this wasn't the case with every customer service person in Holiday Inn, some spoke only a few words in Finnish or just didn't want to use the language. The location of the hotel is central and it's super easy to get to Tripla Mall or Pasila railway station.
Hotel Tripla is more than just a hotel. It is a location in the heart of Pasila that effortlessly combines the urban community and tourists - experiences and visitors - rest and the lively pulse of the city. We are easy to reach by means of public transport from the whole of Finland. The hotel is a combination of genuine Finnish spirit and a relaxed attitude. As our guest you will not feel like a tourist. Instead you will be part of the local community. Our facilities invite you to not only sleep but also to have a quiet moment amidst your everyday life or arrange a meeting or a party. The simplified and stylish hotel rooms are a haven of peace where you can focus completely on relaxation and give yourself some time. With us you are like visiting a very good friend.

-It is quite new and good in Europe.
- You can arrive directly from the airport by train
- The train station/subway/shopping mall/hotel are all in one building, which is very convenient
- For 4-day accommodation, Ctrip sets its own price for 1-day accommodation; for 3-day accommodation, the company's price is 40% more expensive. Ctrip is really cheap this time

The minute we entered the hotel, we were warmly greeted at the reception desk by Samuel, who efficiently checked us. He then kindly offered information about the hotel amenities and directions to Executive Lounge, the sauna, and where breakfast would be served. We enjoyed the delicious meals and relaxing sauna very much. My left leg started to hurt later and the next morning my husband and I decided it was time to get medical care. Again, it was Samuel to the rescue. He got us an appointment with a orthopedic specialist who spoke English for an hour and a half later! Samuel then got us a taxi and soon we were at the clinic. The Mehilainen Form Clinic (a medical provider with BCBS Global) provided exceptional service, and was super clean. After an exam by the orthopedic specialist, Dr. Tuomas, then a sonogram of the leg by Dr. Juhani, the condition was diagnosed and Rx ordered from a nearby pharmacy. Upon our return to the hotel, Samuel continued to show concern by offering a wheelchair and getting us a cab to the airport in a snowstorm. An amazingly beautiful experience at Hilton Strand Hotel in Helsinki, Finland.

We just stayed at this hotel for five nights because we attended an event in Helsinki. Scandic Meilahti was an excellent choice and we were very happy with our stay.. The location was excellent. We came with our car and left it at a parking lot of the hotel (22 euros/ night) and used trams to move around. The standard room was basic but very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good as well. But the best was the staff. . We want to give special thanks to Robert at the reception, ALWAYS helping everybody with smile. Also a young girl on Wednesday night was very helpful and most of all, friendly. And special thanks for the personal at the breakfast. so smiling and helpful, ALL of them serving us these five days with just a beautiful attitude. Hope to stay there again! (the only negative thing was a conversation between the person at the reception and a client talking negatively of other clients. It was not professional and should not happen. Even if you think that no-one is listening, someone can).

The positive sides: The restaurant (we visited the wine bar in the evening and breakfast in the morning) has a supercool vibe and all the staff in the hotel are very friendly and laid-back. The area is a bit industrial and the hotel’s rooftop bar has amazing views and feeling like in Manhattan. There are some faults though in this new hotel. We stayed in the loft room and unfortunately the sleeping experience was not good, as the new Tempur beds are so hard that it feels like sleeping on the floor and it’s uncomfortable to change a sleeping position or get in and out of the bed. Some other rooms have different types of beds though. Unfortunately based on this experience I would not stay in the hotel again. Also some lights (microwave clock, AC, tablet) were very bright when trying to sleep. I covered them with some fabric to be able to sleep. The room itself was slick in design but was still lacking some warmth and coziness. Nevertheless thank you for the nice service for the hotel staff.

GGuest UserThe entrance is difficult to find. You can use the navigation to go through the shopping mall directly opposite the train station. However, if you take the side road, the wheels of the suitcase will make noise and it will be difficult to drag.
The hotel is newly renovated and has the smell of a new hotel. The design is very good. However, none of the windows could be opened. I asked the front desk for safety reasons. I personally don't particularly like this.
But everything else is fine. The hotel bathroom is also very big.
GGuest UserI stayed there for a couple of nights in July. I really liked it. Took the train from the airport to the central station and it is literally around the corner. I’m not that familiar with the prices in Finland, but I know it can be expensive. It was about $100 USD a night. Clean rooms, good breakfast and friendly front desk who were nice enough to speak English with me. The hotel seemed pretty empty but it is large so that may be part of it. The large empty halls had a feeling of the “Shining” which I really liked, but let’s be honest. Finland is kind of spooky anyway - in a good way.
GGuest UserA wonderful stay here for 5 nights. Both room and bathroom were very clean. Bed was comfortable and room very quiet, meant a great sleep each night. The shower was ok, but there was no shampoo, so bring your own. Wifi good. Great restaurant and bar. Food and service excellent. Good breakfast, which is included. Plenty of powerpoints and good lighting for reading in bed. Fantastic location, 10 min walk to Central Station, 4 min walk to Kamppi Shopping Centre which is also where the local and long distance bus stations are. No.7 Tram 2 min walk - takes you direct to West Harbour Terminal for ferries to Tallinn, Estonia, and to Central Station and Senate Square. Excellent friendly and helpful staff. Hint, get a room key card - my phone key wouldn't work with the lift. I saw numerous people having issues with access via the phone key, but reception will happily provide you with a key card. Overall a fantastic stay and would definitely stay again!
HheidiOverall, my recent stay with Bob W was disappointing.
I booked the 4-person penthouse room primarily for the use of the sauna on my last day of the trip.
Firstly, pin code provided was only valid for door access to the stairs, not door to the elevator side at night. This became a significant inconvenience, especially for a female traveler like myself who arrived at night after a tiring flight. Having to carry a 20kg luggage and a 10kg carry-on up five flights of stairs was both physically demanding and frustrating. Clear arrangements on how to access the elevator at night should have been considered for guest.
Secondly, check-in process was not clearly communicated, causing panic upon arrival. Unfortunately, I had to seek help from customer service on a third-party booking site and reach out via email to obtain a check-in link, which added unnecessary stress and confusion.
Furthermore, instruction for turning on the sauna were unclear, and I was unable to enjoy it until the next morning at 8am, just few hours before my checkout time. I had specifically chosen the penthouse room with the sauna for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. due to the lack of clear instructions, and had to seek assistance to figure out how to operate it properly, which ate into the limited time I had available to enjoy the amenity.
In conclusion, my stay with Bob W fell short of my expectations. The limited time to enjoy the amenities, issues during the check-in process and accessing the elevator, made for a less than satisfactory experience. I hope that Bob W seriously takes feedback into consideration and makes the necessary improvements to ensure a more enjoyable stay for travelers in the future. Thank you
DdjkdgThis is a great addition to the Helsinki Scandic range, converting an old building into a stunning new hotel. It is pretty big (over 300 rooms) but there is enough space for everything to happen. Rooms are lovely and well designed. Rooms sizes and shapes vary because of the building conversion. Some have baths. The superior rooms are all gorgeous and face the church square. Everything in the room worked well and internal noise insulation was excellent. Good air-con and free wi-fi. Blackout curtains were efficient and lighting very well managed. Breakfast is in a vast but multi-roomed area with some seating outside in the atrium. Nothing was missing from the buffet and despite the number of guests it all worked well with plenty of seating. The location of the hotel is also good, very central, 5 minutes’ walk from the Kamppi shopping centre (and metro) and 3 minutes’ walk from tram stops.
Citybox has been a fantastic catch, really unexpected! The hotel is easy to reach, close to metro and tram stops, and located in the trendy Kallio neighborhood, but also at walking distance from pretty everywhere tourists might desire to go. There's self-checking, but someone is presiding the office 24/7 - which might be handy. There's no breakfast, but there's an area equipped with fridge, toaster, tableware, sink that you can use. In the lobby, you can also find table tennis and co-working areas. The room was small, but sufficient. Clean. There's no daily room tidy-up. The price is definitely the added value. Very good price-quality ratio, I would have never expected. I would definitely stay at Citybox again, strongly recommended.
GGuest UserWe had a good stay at Hotel Arthur. The location was pretty convenient for us - it was a 5 minute walk from Helsinki's Central Station for platforms going to/from the airport, tram service was nearby and it was within a 15-20 minute walk of everything we wanted to see in Helsinki. We booked this hotel because it was inexpensive for our stay and it was pretty pleasant. The breakfast was included with our stay and was welcome as well.
We booked a twin room with two twin beds. The beds were comfy and we found extra pillows in the closet. We had a really good sleep each night at the hotel because it was very quiet. The room had a couple of chairs including a pretty big cushioned one, a desk and a TV that was mounted high. The room could be a little better with the cleaning of the tv remote and kettle but the beds and bathroom were fine. The hotel is over 100 years old and we felt the hotel showed its age the most in the room because there are some renovations that have been done over the years and it is pretty evident . Our room only had plug-ins at the desk and there was none near the night stand by the beds. The closets were in need of some maintenance because the door tracks were a bit stiff, the floor was peeling and the drywall in the back was loose. The shower used to have sliding doors as evident by the track that wasn't removed but the shower had a curtain that was too short and the floor squeegee was there for a reason because the water went everywhere when I showered. Shower pressure was fine and it was easy to get plenty of hot water. You may want to consider bringing your own bath products because the shower gel was meant for hand soap, body wash and shampoo.
The hotel has saunas that you can book upon request. If you book your hotel reservation directly through the hotel you can get a discounted rate of 8 euros per person for the sauna but if you book through another website it is 10 euros per person. There is a nicer sauna that is shown in the pictures of the hotel but it fills up pretty quickly. We got the other sauna and it was ok but was in need of some cleaning because previous guests left their wet towels all over the place instead of in the towel bin located under a bench. We felt it was silly to charge a different rate if you booked through another platform because we wouldn't have heard of this hotel if we didn't use the platform we used!
The breakfast was pretty standard and I had a nice English breakfast each day from the buffet. The mushrooms, sausage and hash browns were my favourite but I grew to enjoy the scrambled eggs during my stay because they add something to it that I'm not used to. They also had yoghurt, cereals, cold cut meats, fruit and cheese amongst other standard breakfast staples. They had a juice dispenser, a small selection of tea and black coffee. They also had items that you could pay for at the bar like a cappuccino or chocolate chip muffin.
The reception area was pretty good. They had luggage storage and quite a few chairs to sit in. My wife liked their small souvenir shop and got some cute post cards. The staff are very helpful and can provide recommendations for the city. The reception also provide tea and sugar for your room and you can pick up your rations daily. They do not provide regular cleaning for the rooms but you can arrange cleaning or new towels through reception.
There are plenty of sights to see nearby as well as cafes, restaurants and shopping malls. The tram is a short walk away and that was very convenient for us as we did a day trip to Tallinn using the ferries to go across the sea.
We booked this hotel because it was affordable in a pretty expensive city and we would still recommend it if the pieces are fair. It was a good place to sleep and unwind after each day we spent exploring the area.
GGuest UserVery affordable, clean, safe and quiet sp**** rooms in a convenient location. Bare minimum rooms are fine. Most of the travellers are university age so showers and breakfast before 8:30 am works well if you can wake before them. Sauna as well. The rooms are thoughtfully sealed and really soundproofed well and I heard nothing outside my room. Staff is helpful and courteous. Well run in general. Breakfast is fair, but so cheap, I cannot complain. If you book ahead of time through a third party you will be offered a discount if you avoid paying for breakfast in advance for breakfast. IKEA meatballs and scrambled eggs with peas and watered down coffee - but at this price no complaints. Lots of green initiatives too. I respect this place’s owners. Much less waste than an expensive hotel.
GGuest UserI checked in late in the morning. It's right next to the departure hall, so it's easy to miss, but the location is perfect because you don't have to leave the airport. The staff was very friendly, and the room was the perfect size for single use. Although the lack of a window is a disadvantage, I was able to sleep well because of it. Highly recommended as a Helsinki-Vantaa Airport stopover hotel.
GGuest UserWelcome to your build-your-own gulag experience ! This hostel was just a joke. I arrived at 11 pm , layover of 12 hours, so I was too cheap for the Hilton . I thought, well sounds good, hotel with your own bed, bathrooms shared ,how bad could it be. It was the typical grey and icy Finland experience everyone imagines .Well, I marched over to the hostel from the airport, at night with my google maps, so somehow I found it. I wouldn’t advise any females doing this at that time. It’s practically walking out of the arrival hall, past the finavia pilot building (right side) then straight ahead, left continue past the parking lot and the traffic light left again and after the bridge 200 meters right. The code they sent me reliably worked but the room was a joke. There is no reception, nobody to help in case something goes wrong. It didn’t, fortunately. Back to the room : Maybe 10m2. 1 coffee machine and a hot water kettle but not even 1 miserable pack of instant coffee for 85$? Not even the bed was made, you arrive and make it. Worse than a gulag. Same atmosphere by the way. Ice cold outside. The showers were dirty, the bathroom clean, I wouldn’t ever come back. I guess sleeping at the airport is still more fun than on this 80 cm x 180 cm bed. Not kidding. I liked the view onto trees and ice, something new for me, being 300 days a year at tropical beaches …
