3.6/5
We were visiting an old friend whom we hadn't seen in almost 50 years, and Thunder Bay was a 2 night stay on our journey west. We booked the motel in advance for one night initially. The room was a good size and clean with most amenities. However, I couldn't find a coffee maker and went to the front desk to inquire. The gentleman told me that they don't keep coffee makers in the room because they get stolen, but there were a few available upon request. Later on, my wife needed a hair dryer, but none could be found as most are attached to the wall...so I went to the front desk again. Yep, you guessed it. There aren't any in the room as they get stolen, but a few were available upon request. Both the coffee maker and hair dryer were to be left in the room upon our departure. As we were meeting our friend for lunch the next day, I booked a second night. When I went outside the next morning, I noticed a brown spot on the white hood of my truck. There was a cigarette butt and ashes as someone from the balcony above had flicked a lit cigarette from the second floor. The next night, I parked my truck away from the second floor. Although the motel only deserves a 2 star rating, I gave it a 3 due to the accommodating staff and descent room. If you do need to stay in Thunder Bay, book in a better part of town.
ZZHIBINThe environment is average. It is worse than other Super 8s. On the main street, the whole building is relatively old, the service is ok, and the stairs are too smelly. The door is unlocked, breakfast is OK
GGuest UserThe sheets were crumpled like no replacement, the air in the room was not good, and it was not a taste. There is no elevator in the hotel, and seven or eight pieces of luggage are going to move upstairs. Speaking a little off topic, from Vancouver all the way to the east to the place, I found that the hotels here are generally very expensive, because it is almost 1000 kilometers to the east to find a slightly like hotel, all the way is a small motel It can be seen that this is a stop where driving must stop. The supermarkets, gas stations and restaurants here are very expensive! Come catch up with Vancouver.
