Intercontinental Xishuangbanna Resort Reviews

I love this eco-friendly hotel. The reason why located far from downtown, it has pros and cons. Swimming pool is a bit cold on Dec. Breakfast is nice, especially noodles, even if I am foreigner, I totally satisfied.

The check-in and check-out processes were painfully slow and disorganized. Only one available staff, people jumping the line, nobody putting these people in order. We had to start arguing with other guests to have them respect the line. Very unpleasant and unacceptable for a hotel of this category.

Very kids friendly, the basic service sense can be further improved especially at breakfast restaurant, a bit messy when too many clients. The rest are all good.

Nice and very big hotel but mostly for Chinese tourist and families. Difficult to deal if you are a non chinese speaker as only a few employees speaks good english and very few signs and documents are in english. However we had a nice stay. Garden, rooms and food are quite good.

We booked two rooms in the hotel. One for my children and one for us as a couple. We loved both rooms. The location is suitable and distance friendly to most attractions and the staff members go beyond the normal service to make you feel at home. Adora from the front desk was extremely helpful and caring towards us. She sent us a list of children a activities in the hotel and helped us when feeling sick sending us a basket of fruit and some porridge. She even met us the day we left go give us a present from the hotel. The breakfast was delicious offering many options and the rooms very spacious and clean. Thank you Adora and Intercontinental hotel - xishuanbanna is beautiful and the hotel is the perfect combination to this trip.

An exotic feeling hotel, with some beautiful spaces to take pictures (which seems to be the main activity - sadly - for travellers in Xishuangbanna). I stayed here for 4 nights, check-in was fairly smooth, although a cheeky comment about whether the gym was part of my normal routine or not, was not hugely appreciated. A very large hotel, quite dated, but with spacious rooms. My room had a comfortable large bed, a huge bath (the plug didn't work - but they did fix this promptly) and a lovely balcony area. Unfortunately, there were so many palm trees outside of my room it blocked a lot of the natural light, so the room was always quite dark - 21st century problems 🤣 I loved how the aircon automatically turned off when the doors opened - helping the environment 😊 I did not have breakfast any day as I was up and out early, and with limited vegetarian options I ate only once in their Chinese restaurant - where the chef prepared a special meal for my dietary requirements. The bar area, well, wasn't a bar, but the lobby lounge was a wonderful space and their iced coffee was a real treat each day! The children's pool was closed for maintenance but the indoor pool was available. Location was good, I was able to travel to everywhere quite simply using DiDi (although they will not take people to the Botanical Gardens). A particular thank you to Lee, who offered excellent help in English when I was unable to get any transport. Overall, I would recommend this hotel as a good base for exploring Xishuangbanna 🌴 ☀️

A nice resort hotel trying hard to provide facilities for families especially. Outdoor swimming pool is still under renovation. The view from the room has a massive construction site with some noise. Food at all day dining was good and replenished despite holiday masses jostling for food. About a 20rmb taxi drive to main tourist area. Room is comfortable and has standard amenities Byredo Blanche bath products.

Very good service, clean and a nice area. Mr. He is fantastic and helped through difficult circumstances during difficulties, caused by the pandemic situation.

Although not a new hotel (the rating it was a bit over what it should be), the service, activities, and food are very good. Staff could not have been nicer. Although they did not speak English, we readily and easily connected on WeChat and used the translate function. Every request was met with a smile and resolved to our satisfaction. The complex has several interesting areas, not least of all the Buddhist temple and small rice field. Also, the lobby area is very pretty. Breakfast was large and had many choices. From western to hand made noodles with all the trimmings. Honey cultivated on the premises as “on tap” every day. -menu for lunch or dinner was very small, so we did the buffet whenever we are there at night. We had executive lounge privileges. Evening happy hour had good food variety and drinks of all sorts. Super Christmas gift of deserts! -a covid scare in Jinghong close the city while we were there but the entire hotel went into overdrive to help all foreigners obtain the tests and paperwork necessary. I cannot express my gratitude to Jessica (GM) and her team for both supporting and protecting us. Unforgettable group of professional hoteliers. All of them!
