Manxin Hotel properties in Kaifeng

On a spontaneous road trip through Henan, we booked this hotel right next to the Drum Tower. The room was tiny; there wasn't even a private spot in the bathroom to change. The 'scenic view' room offered a nice panoramic view of the Drum Tower, which was a plus. However, being above the Drum Tower night market meant it was incredibly noisy at night. The room window was broken and they were fixing it until after 10 PM. Once it was finally closed, it did quiet down. We paid for breakfast vouchers, only to find out the next morning that no one was checking them. The breakfast area was packed, and while they gave out electronic pagers for the noodle station, it was pure chaos and a free-for-all. On the bright side, the hotel has its own parking lot and EV charging stations, which was very convenient. After checking out, the hotel called asking for a good review, which I found incredibly annoying. It makes me suspect their high ratings are probably inflated.

Our overall stay exceeded expectations. The environment was quiet and elegant, and the lobby was clean and spacious. The guest room decor was simple and cozy, and the cleanliness was impeccable—not a speck of dust even in the corners. The amenities were of good quality, the toiletries were great, and the space felt roomy and not cramped. Breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options. The staff were attentive and meticulous, responding promptly to all our needs. We felt comfortable and at ease throughout our stay, and I genuinely recommend this place to everyone.
