I stayed at this hotel with my wife and two children during a two-night trip to Karuizawa in early February Location: The hotel was off a road with other larger hot spring resorts around 15-minutes drive from Karuizawa station. It was not difficult to find, but you must navigate a narrow, sloped road to the hotel. The road was icy at this time of the year, so you must drive carefully. There is a large 7-eleven close by along with some local restaurants with good ratings. Cleaniness: The hotel was quite old and worn. I think it was clean enough but many fittings were damaged or broken. Service: I only saw two members of staff on the first day I was there: the receptionist and a lady who served dinner both who were quite elderly. The receptionist did not speak English but with Google Translate it was not a problem. He was polite and answered all our queries. Dinner and breakfast was included in our booking so we were served a nice Japanese meal. The waitress was able to communicate with us in Mandarin. Again she was very helpful. Facilities: As previously stated, this hotel is very old and tired. The rooms were large but quite basic. All the furniture and fittings in the room were clean but very worn. I find the bedding on the Tatami floor quite uncomfortable but maybe it is because I am not used to it. As an Onsen hotel, there were hot springs in the basement. Apart from the usual male and female baths, there was also a family bath. The baths were very old. The tiles were and many of them had come off. In the male an female baths, you could bathe outdoors. Overall: This hotel is very old. However, it is cheaper than other Onsen style hotels in the region. The staff are nice and you do get a real feel of what a traditional Japanese Onsen experience. I personally probably wouldn't stay there again but my family quite enjoyed the experience.

It has a bit of a historical feel from the Showa era, a very traditional Japanese inn, good service, and they patiently use Google Translate even if they don't understand English. The hotel is a little far away, but it is suitable for self-driving. There are plenty of parking spaces and it is very quiet. It is also convenient to walk to popular restaurants such as the Village Canteen and The Cowboy House Wagyu in about 10 minutes. The hotel also provides Japanese banquet dinner and breakfast, and the portion is just right. Delicate and hygienic. If you don't want to go out, you can consider it. The hot spring is very comfortable and is called the Longevity Spring. The spring quality is very good. There are many local residents nearby, especially the elderly, who come to take a bath. The overall facilities have a sense of age, and one can see Japan's past prosperity as well as the vicissitudes of the changing times. In winter (roughly December to February), you can drive from the hotel or head north to the Minenochaya bus stop (at the Shiraito no Taki waterfall intersection). There is a small Asama hiking trail diagonally opposite the public toilet, which allows you to complete the round trip without any stress and easily. There is a 4-kilometer natural snow trail where you can take a walk in the snow in the primeval forest or climb to the top to see the panoramic view of Mount Asama. After all, Karuizawa's ski resorts are all made of artificial snow.

The location is a bit out of the way. It’s really inconvenient if you don’t drive by yourself. Facilities are average. Acceptable. There is a service staff who understands Mandarin. Also very convenient. .

Except for the remote location, everything else is good. There is an open-air hot spring and it is very clean. The food is delicious. There are few tourists, so you can enjoy your vacation very well. There are attractions nearby

Old hot spring hotel, great experience! Although the facilities are old, it is very quiet at night and I have a good sleep. The hot spring is also very good. There is an outdoor bath, which is very comfortable! It actually includes two meals. Breakfast and dinner are traditional Japanese cuisine. The first day’s dinner is eel, and the second day’s dinner is barbecue (it seems to be Wagyu)! We are already planning to come back in the winter, escape the heat in the summer, and stay in a hot spring in the winter. The price is really beautiful, like it 👍

The location is remote but the service and hygiene are good. One day we were the only one there... breakfast and dinner were both OK! Have a chance to stay again, overall it's good!

The hotel is far from Karuizawa Station. It takes about a thousand yen by taxi. It is a ryokan hotel with a good onsen. There is a free private onsen. It is very quiet. The hotel is surrounded by trees. The hotel staff provides good service. The food is good and the quantity is just right. There were not many guests staying during our visit.

The food is very good, the service is also very good, and the waiters are very polite. It will be more convenient for self-driving travelers, but it is also very convenient to take a taxi. The station and the hotel can be reached within 15 minutes. The environment is also very comfortable, and you can soak in the hot springs while looking at the natural landscape, which is very first-class. The only problem is that the facilities are relatively old, but the hygiene is good. If you like old Japanese-style hotels, it is actually a good choice.
