Pros Great location for exploring Themal and provided you are not too high up, you shouldn't hear any road noise as it's set back. I was on the 4th floor and could hear the incessant beeping motorbikes but had moved from the first floor where i heard none (but was directly above the kitchen so could hear banging and chairs scraping from around 6am). 2nd floor is probably a good choice Staff were all excellent Room cleaned daily with 2 large bottles of water provided each day Breakfast was ok - decent variety of fruit, local and western with custom eggs. Coffee was instant though. Get your currency before you arrive or take enough to convert there, the atm machines are expensive Taxi from airport to Themal should be around 350 rupees working on 50 rupees per km plys 30 rupees start charge. You will be hounded relentlessly by people from the second you leave the plane for tour services etc. It may seem impolite but dont make eye contact, say no thank you and keep walking, otherwise you will spend your entire trip speaking to them. Right now its cold at night, pack accordingly. Be prepared to pay for everything, every temple, every place of historical interest - foreigners are charged around 1000-2000 rupees each time. E.g. all the Durbar squares, main stupas and temples. Don't assume that because Nepal is a developing country it is cheap. It isn't. In fact i found it comparable to some developed countries and not cheaper than say Thailand. A meal would cost me around 1000 rupees. In a smaller more local place you may pay 500. Don't take your new trainers, it's a very dirty, dusty city but exactly what you would expect if you've ever seen it on TV - it's all part of the experience. For exploring all of the main parts of Kathmandu, id say 5 days is a good amount of time. I recommend the everest helicopter tour but on that note i will say that tours are very expensive here, more expensive than even Hong Kong, Thailand, etc!! I ended up walking to the main temples, Chandragiri, Bakhtapur for the more local experience.

This hotel is booked through the booking channel. The price shown by Ctrip is cheaper, but you need to see clearly that in addition to the hotel's normal tax, you may need to pay an additional $ 10 city tax for the order. We renewed it through Ctrip. Ctrip subsidized me with an equivalent of RMB 10, and I recognized Ctrip's online customer service. Communicate in time, call my local mobile phone. In addition, the hotel is a 3 diamond hotel near Tamil, which is higher than other hotel standards. The hotel service is very warm. The staff can speak Chinese and the boss can speak some Chinese. I had a wonderful experience at the (Hotel M Square). Every staff member I encountered, from the valet to the check- in to the restaurant staff to the cleaning staff were delightful and eager to help! they were amazing. They went over and beyond to help make my stay enjoyable. Also rooms were cleaned with all facilitating. Really can not find good words to Express my feelings towardsthem. Thank you all. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Kathmandu. MANSOOR

Double bed plus a single bed, the location is easy to find, travel is very convenient. The room was sterilized and clean, but there was still a fox smell left by the guests before. Breakfast is good.

I loved my stay here in March. Ram is rightfully very proud of his hotel and his welcoming and sincere smile was one of the highlights of my trip. The hotel has a very knowledgeable and helpful (but not pushy) crew who effortlessly made me feel even more comfortable travelling alone. The location is so convenient (in Thamel) and it was so much fun to leave the relatively quiet haven of the garden and this cosy hotel and to step out into the bustle, right outside the door. When I came home, a rest in the garden was so restorative. Everything is clean and lovingly tended, and the breakfast very generous. Even though it's right in tourist town, the noise was interesting rather than invasive. I loved listening to the sounds of the city til midnight when the shutters of the shop owners came down and everything was quiet until dawn. (Except for the activities of the street dogs who were living their best lives at night of course - which I also love.) I will return and sincerely hope Ram is there when I do.

When I visited the Everest Road, I stayed as an inn of Kathmandu. As a result, it was cozy and stayed at this hotel until the return flight after returning from Everest Road. The friendly attitude of the staff and the cleanliness of the room are a good impression. I think the momentum of the shower is different depending on the room, but I could use hot water without problems. The location is in the Tamel District, so it is noisy outside, but the room is quiet and calm. I visited the Swayanbunat Buddha Pagoda and the Narayanhiti Royal Palace on foot from here. I don't stay at other hotels in Kathmandu, but it is recommended.
