Key West, FL was home to prolific American Novelist, Ernest Hemingway, from 1931–1939. It was in his Key West residence, that the author completed the partially autobiographical novel about the First World War, "A Farewell to Arms." Now a museum, the Ernest Hemingway House is open to the public daily, from 09:00–17:00. General admission costs US$16, and includes a 20–30-minute guided tour, including an insight to his writing studio, where many of his classic novels were written.
Fun Fact: The Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum is home to approx. 60 six-toed cats. Hemingway was gifted a white six-toed cat, named Snowball, by a sea-captain, and it is said that all cats on the property are descendants of Snowball.
