Room size bigger than average hotel with 2 queen beds. Clean, neat and hot water in seconds!!

Clean hotel, right on the water Doesn't really have a beach this year with high water levels. You have to request a room clean, they don't come every day. Front desk barely ever answers the phone. No breakfast. Easy parking. Nice bean toss/play area with turf and games for kids and adults.

Great location less than 15 min to Northstar, lots of food options, lakefront walk. Very friendly and helpful staff, appreciated extra towels and late check out when needed. Clean rooms with fridge and microwave, could use a rug shampooing (just bring slippers). Can hear neighbors thru the walls if they are loud but most guests are considerate. Parking can be tight. It's an older facility but is a great value. Would definitely stay again.

The room was large, updated, clean, and comfortable. The property is nice. The view on the property’s beach was spectacular! We would definitely stay again.

Crown Motel is an absolute hidden gem! It has the best view of the lake from the hot tub. A perfect place to stay for a night. Great location as it’s close to restaurants, etc.

Great place to stay when visiting Northstar. Super clean room and amazing view of the Lake. I think it was midway through refurbishment as the room would have benefited from some coat hooks, pictures and maybe a full length mirror. I would certainly stay again 😀

We stayed in one of the renovated rooms and it was clean, comfortable and decently spacious. The location of this property is unbeatable - Very close to Northstar (10 mins drive), right on the lake beach and walking distance to lot of F&B options in Kings beach. The only bummer was the new 'smart' TV didnt seem to have live TV, and even the front-desk staff wasnt able to figure it out.

Old Motel that was renovated. Seems fairly clean, so wasn't too bad. My one complaint was about the hot water. The first nights, the hot water was barely (room temperature) lukewarm when I wanted to take a shower. Basically unacceptable. I brought the problem to the attention of the hotel manager, who was very attentive to the problem. He brought the water temperature up a bit, but still wasn't warm enough for a shower. He apologized and promised to have maintenance look into it the next day. I had to drive over to a friend's place for a shower. Maintenance brought the water temperature up by the evening of my 3rd night, but the plumbing hasn't been fully renovated and is very tricky. I had to fine tune the shower faucet to get the right water temperature - one degree clockwise and water temp drops by 10 DegF, one degree counter-clockwise and water temp rises by 10 DegF. There was a very narrow band where the water temp was good for showering. So to summarize. Renovation cleaned up the surface of the old motel, but some old bones still need work (hot water plumbing). Hotel staff was friendly and active in trying to fix problem. Would be good if owners go in to renovate the infrastructure further.
