Kunming Latosol Hotel

I’ll start with the positive. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The cafe space is beautiful and the coffee was great. I would recommend the cafe on a sunny day with the option of sitting inside or out. The hotel overall is run down. Signs are falling off, stains on the walls and the stairs was unkempt. I booked a non-smoking room. The room itself looked very aesthetically pleasing, however, the room stank of stale smoke. The bedsheets were clean, but smelled of smoke and were torn. The floor was disgraceful. It had not been cleaned. There was dirt, seeds, hair and more in the hallway, bathroom, by the bed etc. The shower was not in good quality and the walls of the bathroom had terrible stains running down them. The toiletries were all new, so it was evident that the cleaners had come. The glassware however was dirty on arrival. The gym is not as advertised and was located at the entrance behind glass and a falling wall. Not functional. Overall I was very disappointed with the hotel. I would not recommend staying at the hotel, but the cafe on the 3rd floor was nice (there is no cafe on the 1st floor).

Booked this place the night before checking in because the previous place I booked was just disappointing. Latosol service, location, room and everything was amazing!! Definitely worth the money.

I made a mistake by booking 2 nights (flying off the 2nd day) but the staff was kind enough to work with me to refund the 2nd night payment. The staff ensured that the room was clean and in order before letting us move into the room. One thing to note for the management, we almost tripped on the carpet on multiple occasions, please work on this matter. I love the coffee and ambience at the cafe. Overall, enjoyed my short stay over here.

The hotel was ok in terms of location and room (although our room was a bit noisy), but the service was bad. The staff gave us a different room that we booked, then wanted us to changed it after we unpacked, we payed for breakfast but did not get it (firstly there was no one at the breakfast area, then someone came but could not communicate with us, there was no coffee available).

This hotel is a gem. I loved every minute of staying here. The room was large and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The room was clean when I got there but more attention could have been paid to little things. The daily cleaning could have been done better , as the room wasn’t vacuumed or swept everyday . Overall I would recommend this hotel, it has a great vibe and feel to it. It’s also quite convenient to the sights.

Looks good on photos but hotel property is not well maintained. It’s not that clean either.
