I saw some comments mentioning dirty carpets and elevator issues, but perhaps because it was the off-season, I didn't encounter any of these problems. The bathroom floor is anti-slip and the shower is separate from the toilet, which is very clean! They provide conditioner, shampoo, and body wash. However, if you're staying with a friend of the opposite sex, it might be a bit awkward as the bathroom door doesn't lock. The room's floor was spotless! A hairdryer is provided, and you can also borrow chargers. The amenities are very complete; if you're traveling with family, there are even building blocks for children to play with. If you take the airport shuttle to Kunming Station, it's about a 10-12 minute walk. The path to the hotel at night can be a bit dark, so be careful. There are many restaurants nearby, and a convenience store right downstairs, which is very convenient. Overall, it was a fantastic experience."

"What a pleasant surprise to stay at such a wonderful guesthouse in Kunming! ✨ The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the owner's attention to detail was evident in the decor. Both room types had lovely courtyards. I especially want to praise the "pet-friendly" feature; bringing a dog was no problem at all, a perfect experience! The hostess was incredibly kind, picking us up at the entrance of the complex, reimbursing our parking fees, and thoughtfully sharing nearby restaurants and travel tips. We stayed in two different room types. The Mo Shi room was practically made for those who are sensitive to light – completely dark with the door closed, and the air conditioning was super quiet, instantly improving our sleep quality. The Lan Jing room was more spacious, allowing the kids and our dog to play in the courtyard for hours. The headboard was padded, which was great for children, and there was also a kitchenette and washing machine. The location was also superb, just a few minutes' walk from the Haigeng Dam, with plenty of nearby attractions and restaurants – very convenient."

"Our child wears orthokeratology lenses morning and night, so we need a clean surface to lay them out on. The hotel room was spacious and bright, and the beds were very comfortable. We stayed for three days and two nights, and the biggest highlight of the hotel was its staff. They were exceptionally professional, attentive, responsible, and quick to respond to guests. Over our two-night stay, we could feel that the service went beyond mere standardization; it truly showed kindness and warmth in the details, which left a lasting impression! Such a team of employees is a huge asset to the hotel. As for dining, the 'Die Zhuo' restaurant and breakfast are highly recommended, though the Chinese restaurant still has room for improvement. We look forward to visiting again."

"This newly opened downtown hotel, built in 2025, is a gem! It's just a 3-minute walk to Kunming Old Street, Shuncheng, and Jinma Biji Archway. Plus, there are tons of amazing food options nearby, making it the perfect base for any food-loving adventurer. The entire room features smart controls, and the bedding is incredibly comfortable. While the hairdryer isn't a Dyson, the Laifen is still excellent. We even received complimentary welcome fruit upon arrival, and the minibar is entirely free. The concierge was proactive in helping with our luggage, and the views from our 28th-floor room, overlooking the city lights at night, were stunning. The 24-hour gym is a huge plus, allowing me to work out whenever I wanted – a truly thoughtful amenity. Many star-rated hotels are still stuck with traditional satellite TV, so it was a delight to find that this one offers screen mirroring that works seamlessly. The smart entertainment system is a standout feature, and I give it a big thumbs up! (*≧∪≦)👍🏻 Now, let's talk about breakfast: The selection of Chinese and Western dishes is extensive, including many authentic Yunnan specialties. The rare pea flour, kumiss, five-color glutinous rice, and flower cakes were all outstanding and delicious. My only regret is not getting to try the Eggs Benedict – a slight disappointment. The restaurant service was exceptional. The staff were friendly and attentive, proactively guiding us to our table. They even offered coffee to go, cleared plates promptly, and provided warm and thorough service throughout. This truly enhanced my experience. Justin Liu deserves a special mention for his proactive enthusiasm and prompt responses. Five stars!"
Kunming Papuman PAPMAN (Xishan Wanda)
"We stayed at Kunming PAPMAN Hotel Wanda for our first night in Kunming, and honestly, it was by far the best hotel of our entire stay. We only stayed for one night and didn’t have a chance to explore the surrounding area, but the hotel itself was exceptional. The hotel occupies two floors within a larger building, so there isn’t direct access to the hotel lobby from the ground floor. However, the hotel contacted us in advance with clear instructions on where to meet them at the car park. The staff came down to meet us, helped with all our luggage and brought us up to the lobby. This could have been an inconvenience, but the level of service completely made up for it. The staff were incredibly attentive, warm and genuinely went above and beyond from the moment we arrived. The hotel itself is beautifully designed. Every corner was thoughtfully decorated and incredibly photogenic, and the overall aesthetic was stylish without compromising on comfort. Even our room was beautifully designed, comfortable and very well equipped, with lots of thoughtful amenities included. The views from the hotel were also lovely. Unfortunately, it was raining during our stay, so we didn’t get to properly enjoy or photograph the rooftop pool, which was a little disappointing — but it gives us another reason to come back! One of our favourite additions was the photoshoot. The hotel was incredibly accommodating and allowed us to arrange a much earlier photoshoot slot because we were short on time. The experience was so good that we ended up purchasing additional photos beyond the three included with our room. It was such a fun and memorable experience. Our room rate also included afternoon tea, although we arrived at night and unfortunately didn’t have the opportunity to try it. However, supper was included and was honestly one of the highlights. It was a combination of semi-buffet and made-to-order dishes, with a surprisingly good variety. Everything we tried was delicious, and there was more than enough food. It was such a nice and unexpected inclusion, especially after travelling all day. We were also celebrating our child’s birthday during our stay, and the hotel had thoughtfully prepared a birthday cake and a little present for him in advance. It was such a sweet and thoughtful touch, and really made us feel welcomed and looked after❤️ Overall, we were genuinely impressed by this hotel. From the beautiful design and comfortable rooms to the incredible service, thoughtful inclusions, photoshoot and birthday surprise, everything felt very well thought out. The service in particular really stood out — the staff were attentive, friendly and incredibly helpful throughout our short stay. We only stayed one night and didn’t leave the hotel during our stay, so unfortunately we can’t comment much on the surrounding area or its convenience for exploring Kunming. But based purely on our experience at the hotel, we would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it."

"Before coming to Kunming, I compared many hotels and had initially booked another one, but I changed it to this hotel at the last minute the day before check-in. On the day of arrival, my flight landed early, so I reached the hotel around 10:00 AM. The front desk was very considerate and helped us check into a room that had been cleaned early! It's also super convenient for exploring nearby attractions; Cuihu Lake, Wenlin Street, Huangongdong Street, and Yunnan University are all within walking distance. Plus, downstairs there are restaurants, snack bars, coffee shops, fruit stores, and even hair salons – it couldn't be more convenient! As for the hotel facilities and service, on the first day, the front desk lady gave us some delicious fresh flower cakes. The hotel room was clean, breakfast was good, and there was even a late-night snack service. The restaurant on the 19th floor has great views, and on the 20th floor, there's a swimming pool terrace with a fantastic view. If it hadn't been a bit cold at night, I definitely would have gone for a swim. When we left on the third day, they even gave us a souvenir – the service was truly excellent! Oh, and I was initially worried about the soundproofing, but after 10 PM, most of the shops downstairs close and traffic lessens, so it was very quiet at night for sleeping! So I'm more than happy to give a good review, and I'll definitely stay at this hotel again next time I visit!"

"I stayed for two nights during my trip to Kunming, and the experience was excellent. The room had great natural light, and opening the window for ventilation was very comfortable. All the nooks and crannies were cleaned thoroughly, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area. Both the housekeeping staff and front desk service were very friendly. Breakfast offered a rich variety of options, including rice noodles, pastries, and fruits, all of which tasted great. It's very close to Kunming Old Street, just a ten-minute walk, and parking is convenient. The facilities are new and well-maintained, making for a comfortable and peaceful stay. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting."

We actually checked out the room upstairs before making a reservation. From viewing the room to checking in, the front desk staff were all very enthusiastic. We loved the room, especially the super-sized bathtub where our child could play in the evening without us worrying about safety. The room was also fully smart-enabled, and our little one kept calling out to 'Xiao T' (the smart assistant). We only stayed one night, but our child loved it so much and kept asking to come back again next time!"
