Dusit Thani Kyoto

I stayed in several hotels during the 2024 Kyoto Cherry Blossom Season. This was my first time staying at Dusit Thani. Now I don't like staying in old five-star hotels such as Okura, so I booked some new hotels. This one is very new and the decoration has just passed. The service is very thoughtful. It is very convenient to sit in the lobby and wait for them to call a taxi. There is a turndown service. There is a geisha performance in the cafe on the first floor of the hotel every Saturday and some Thai performances on other days. There is a very good swimming pool. Remember to bring a swimsuit when you stay at the hotel. There is also a spa. The restaurant has a buffet and teppanyaki, as well as a bar. The basic room I booked has no view. The room is regular and spacious, and the decoration and linens are of five-star standard, quiet and comfortable. The location is not convenient for public transportation. It is close to Kyoto Station and all depends on taxis. There are East and West Honganji Temples, Sanjusangendo Temple, and convenience stores 5 minutes away. Disillusionment was in an instant. First, I found a long golden hair on the sofa cushion. I had black hair, and then I found a ball of paper by the bed. It was definitely not used by me. I felt uncomfortable and checked out immediately. The room price was expensive during the cherry blossom season. I booked many three-star and four-star hotels and never had this situation, especially Porter, which was super clean. In summary, the room is good, the service is good, but the hygiene is not up to standard.

The hotel is not too close to Kyoto Station and is within walking distance. In terms of hotel service, the local Japanese staff are very good. However, I heard that it is a Thai brand and the attitude of the non-local staff is very indifferent and I did not feel any enthusiasm or enthusiasm. The service is not as good as that of ordinary hotel waiters in Thailand. In terms of hotel hygiene, the hotel is advertised as a five-star hotel, but some corners are not clean enough. As shown in Figure 1, even corners like Mitsui Garden can be handled well.

Very good ~ I originally booked 4 nights, but then added another night. It's very close to Kyoto Station. The bus takes two stops and gets off at the front entrance of the hotel. It's very cheap to take a taxi for about 1,000. It costs 1200-1500 to take a taxi to Takashimaya. If you take the bus, you need to walk ten minutes to a bus stop and sit for ten minutes. The room is clean, large in size, and the bed is large and comfortable. The only thing I may be dissatisfied with is that the toiletries are not individually packaged. Nothing wrong with anything else and the service attitude is also very good~

The location is very bad. It is not convenient to go anywhere by subway, bus, or to eat. You have to walk for more than 15 minutes. You can just stay in the hotel or take a taxi. But the hotel is relatively small and there is nothing to do. This is the key point of the vacation. This booking is specifically for accommodation. The new hotel is chosen by a Thai brand. I would like to say that the experience should be good. I made a special note to ask for a city view room on a high floor. The hotel also said that it would be satisfied as much as possible. However, we wasted 3 or 4 hours when we went to the hotel because it was full. After communicating about the room issue, we were finally given the room we originally reserved, which is facing the construction site. . The room type didn't feel right either. The premium king bed room we booked was a deluxe king bed room. . There is only one sink in the bathroom. It was the Mid-Autumn Festival, so we didn't have dinner. . I have never given a bad review before. This restaurant was really unbearable. In the end, the male manager did nothing. However, at my husband's request, he barely compensated for a breakfast. . This is Japan's five-star hotel. .
