Lovely Ryokan, close to the busy stop. Everything is clean and the staff is friendly and attentive. Spacious room and comfortable futon. The onsen baths are lovely, on the riverside for a great view of the valley, you can ”reserve” four of them for private use for a bit of time, just locking the door. Dinner was superb

Great Hotel full facilities , clean rooms staff helpful very very close train station 100m, But I came with my wife they’re giving us the 2 Bed room, That not common sense .!!!

My recent stay at the Wat Hotel & Spa Hida Takayama was a delightful experience. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the hotel's thoughtful amenities and welcoming atmosphere. Ample parking is available (a reasonable ¥800 overnight fee applies), making it a convenient choice for those traveling by car. I also opted for the breakfast buffet (¥1000 per person), which offered a delicious start to each day. The friendly front desk staff spoke excellent English, making check-in a breeze. A particularly nice touch was the welcome drink coupon, redeemable for a refreshing beer or soft drink at the self-service bar – a perfect way to unwind after a journey. The rooms at Wat Hotel & Spa are spacious and comfortable, featuring well-appointed bathrooms with excellent shower facilities. The hotel's onsen, located on the top floor, is a true highlight. The private onsen is available on a first-come, first-served basis, offering a relaxing and intimate experience. Simply lock the door, and the space is yours to enjoy. The hotel is also family-friendly, with a fun touch – guests can help themselves to a complimentary popsicle after their bath. All the essential amenities are provided, including combs, soap, shampoo, and comfortable bathrobes, readily available in the lobby. My stay at the Wat Hotel & Spa Hida Takayama was truly rejuvenating, and I highly recommend it for anyone visiting this charming town.

Overall experience was great. Hotel is quite new, with comfortable bed, clean towels and strong shower. Room is nicely setup and spacious. Check-in check-out was efficient. However, one thing I am a bit disappointed was that the cleaning staff didn’t help to wash the used mugs and vacuum the floor everyday. We saw lots of hair on the floor. Maybe this is not a common practice.

I like the hotel layout as a conventional tradition building as compared to those high rise buildings. Woods structure gives homely feels. The services staff are polite and proficient in English which is very helpful when I approached them for service. The bus shuttle service from hotel to town area/ bus n train terminals provides much needed convenience for hotel guests to move around.

Really enjoy the stay over there. The onsen is good and the buffet serves are great. We will sure go back again, if we go Hirayu

This was such a lovely place to stay. The room was nice and spacious, allowing us to feel at home. Not only were we taken care of by means of beautiful breakfast and dinner, but the staff were extremely helpful when we talked to them about hiking in Kamokochi. I would highly recommend booking this place especially with a meal plan, since it was nice to have food sorted after Hiking all day.

It would be better if there is a locker facility at the hot spring changing area. & high cost performance~

We enjoyed the peaceful stay at the Ryokan and the liked the quiet surroundings. The private open air onsen was fabulous. The morning walks in the woods behind the Ryokan was great. This was followed by the sumptuous breakfast provided by the Ryokan to start our day of walking the trails which are nearby.
