Outstanding
GGuest UserWe have stayed at other hotels when visiting our student and this is one of the best. Great location, great rooms. We were only there for a night but it did not disappoint. We walked to amazing restaurants and shopping. The curtains are actually blackout and the bed is so comfortable you will want to know what mattress it is. When you walk up the view over Ann Arbor is great.

It was OK, but that's as far as I can go. Overall, what the place lacked was the warmth, cleanliness and welcome that one would expect. Our room was decent. It has a ”cooler” but no microwave. The bathroom sink is located outside of the tub/toilet area, which was nice. Adequate counter space. But the beds and pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable. We did not get housekeeping services one day, and were left with dirty towels on the floor with no replacements, which we then asked for at the front desk.  The fitness room was not cleaned as dirty towels were strewn about the floor and equipment.   The complimentary coffee in lobby consisted of one caff and one decaf carafe, with 2 large pumps of Coffee Mate. (yuk!) The lobby cafe and bar was very overpriced ($26 for 3 medium coffees and $50 for 2 drinks!). We entertained some family in the lounge area, and had asked for the fireplace to be turned on to take the chill off the room and add some ambiance. We were told that the fireplace hasn't worked for 3 years! The lounge area had dirty cups and napkins and crumbs on the furniture and tables, which we cleaned up before we could sit down.

KKAIThe hotel does not provide free breakfast, which needs to be paid at your own expense, but after contacting Ctrip customer service, Ctrip will return the breakfast fee at your own expense after check-out. However, I still feel a little deceived in my heart, with some regrets.

GGuest UserAll of these positive reviews are shocking to me, definitely planted for sure. I stayed on this property when it was the Candlewood a few years ago and it was ok. Just got back from there and it has REALLY gone downhill. Checked in, went up to my room and it smelled like stale cigarettes and bad decisions, went back down to the desk and the clerk immediately changed my room. she was the best part of my stay, very pleasant and trying hard to help me. She walked up with me and agreed that the room smelled. She walked me to the new room and it smelled better. After being there a few minutes alone and looking around, I realized that this was NOT going to be good. The phone was not plugged in and there was no where to plug it in. The dishwasher door was broken and there were dirty dishes in it. The chairs were ripped and had food stains, the refrigerator was old and dirty made a very startling loud clunking noise when it powered off. the cheap coffee pot was broken and unusable, there was popcorn and filth under the couch that looks like it been there for a LONG time. The clock wasn't set to the right time in the bedroom. it was very dusty, dirt in the drawers, hair in the tub, chairs ripped and food stains on them, nothing was replenished, no body wash, soap, extra towels, dish soap, NOTHING. It looked like it was a quick ”flush and dust” ( Barely) after the last guest. I headed down to the front desk to see if I can at least get some supplies (I passed an old sock on the floor in the hallway, which remained there for my entire stay) and I saw a housekeeper along the way, I thought maybe I can ask her for what I need, I said hello and she IGNORED ME! I continued down to the desk, was telling the clerk what I needed and I heard a voice coming from the back yelling to have the housekeeper go up and make it right. I then asked for the manager, she came out and the first thing out of her mouth was I gave you a discount for one night of your stay because you weren't happy. I told her that I didn't want the discount I just wanted to tell her about what was wrong and she may want to consider training the staff better, she was very ”Canned” in her responses telling me that they are rated up in the 90s, its a great property, the staff is amazing and she was very sorry, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. She said there was a long term guest that stayed before me (SO I guess that's a good excuse?!) I asked her to come up to the room and see for herself because i didn't want to ”Be that girl” and just complain and she completely ignored my requested and wanted to send her housekeeper up to make it right, but I had to tell her if I wanted her to go up fast because she was leaving for the day!( The one with the attitude that totally ignored me when I tried to approach her on the way down? No thank you) The manager was so snarky and phony, When I realized that she would be ZERO help to me I respectfully thanked her and wished her a good day, she yelled no YOU HAVE A GOOD DAY, as I

This place is fantastic! My suite was roomy, clean, modern, comfortable, and incredibly affordable for the location. Much nicer than many hotels I've stayed in. I'm really glad my usual hotel near campus was booked or I would not have found this. The unit had everything: nice spacious bathroom, separate bedroom with a firm, comfortable bed, sofa, FULL kitchen with nice new appliances, washer/dryer (which I didn't use but they look brand new and nice -- not noisy old things you find in some rentals), smart TV, fast wifi, an outside porch with a nice view over 4th street, and it was quiet. I didn't need a car to get to campus but if you bring one, there is a structure nearby and street parking (but you'll have to pay for street parking too). Highly recommended!

I expected much better when I first walked into the Kensington Hotel in Ann Arbor, but I was completely wrong. We paid over $600 for a room, only to find bugs crawling all over the floors and ceilings, pee on the toilet seat, and black mold growing from the windows. It was disgusting. Also, to make matters worse the toilet would run constantly. I took photos for the staff to see and understand but they only turned their heads. The service made it even worse. Katie, one of the managers, treated us horribly and made us feel like we were crazy for bringing up these issues. We repeatedly asked for basic amenities like soap for the shower, and never got any. When we requested to switch rooms because of the state of ours, we were told nothing was available. How can they overbook rooms like this when there are serious health issues in some of them? To top it off, this wasn’t even during a busy football game weekend—we were here for a wedding. I understand the hotel might get busier during game weekends, but that doesn’t excuse the poor quality of the room or the terrible service we experienced. The only positive note was June and Cade at the front desk, who were polite and helpful. Unfortunately, every other encounter we had was awful. I would never stay here again or recommend this hotel to anyone.

FFEIYUEThe air conditioning sound is too loud. Most American hotels are cabinet air conditioners. They are placed on the floor below the window and the sound is too loud. Parking is also available for a fee. Close to Northwestern University, the environment is good

PPratikkumarI stayed for two nights (28-29 Dec 2022) in the B building-first floor. There was no disturbance from the outside and it was quiet. The room was good with hot water available in the washbasin tap as well as the bathtub tap and shower. The check-in was smooth and one time I got locked out of the room without the access card. But, one of the security guys helped me out quickly. The bed was comfortable and everything worked well. The room didn't have any foul smell. The giant AC/heater near the bed did it's job well. The location is super convenient. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and I will definitely stay if opportunity comes.
