Avi Resort & Casino

Have been here many times including staying at the RV portion of the property. At the RV site, there's nothing there, except a small dog area and a playground which is unshaded - too hot after 10am for the grandkids. There's a pool at the resort, but its a really long walk. The ****** Table Games are closed except for night time, so don't expect to play live gaming. The workers who are there, don't seem to be trained in customer service, employees avoid eye contact/greetings. If you are hungry, please try the chain food places like Subway, Sbarro, and Panda Express. We have stopped even bothering to eating at their restaurants. All of the last 3times, we had bad experiences. If there is a problem with a dish, a complaint to management, does absolutely nothing. You still get charged. Their menu, is very limited at the times my wife and I like to visit. So simple that we no longer even bother to sit down for food. As many problems as we have had with service and food, yet the same workers are still there, still with bad attitudes. They used to have slot and video poker tournaments. No longer, not since 2019. They used to bring my wife and , just to play and earn more points. They used to have comedy shows we would visit. They used to have events in their event center. It seems like its a place of the past, not of the current.

Very professional front desk staff, quick check in and out. Limited amount of large vehicle parking in front of casino but lot of room in the parking lot next door. Free parking. Room was average size, bed was medium firmness, pillow were ok. Limited number of power outlets. Bathroom had adequate sink counter space. The restaurant next door at the Frontier is open late. Would stay here again when in the area.

On 7/7/22 I called made reservations for 3 rooms for 7/16/2022 at Tropicana Laughlin over the phone. Clearly stating I needed 7/16/22 date, celebrating parents 69th wedding anniversary. An hour later I printed reservation confirmations only to see clerk had set up 7/9/22 date!!! I called and was told there are no rooms on 7/16/22 only for 7/9/22. This clerk said I could stay at Harraha's for a much higher priced rooms. I quickly arranged for all of us to go on 7/9/22. Upon arrival check in clerk was very un-interested, bored actually in her job. I asked for at least 1 room to be close to casino floor for my 85 and 92 year old parents as it was difficult for them to walk. Clerk up them in another tower with so much walking, unbelievable!! Our room was not clean! The bathroom had used dental floss on the floor. Bathroom floor was dirty, many dirty spots on floor and dirt in the corners. Looked like it had not been moped in weeks. There was a coffee pot but no cups?? My husbands room key didn't work. My key would not work upon 2nd entry into room. I had to go to check in for new key, I also complained about the room. The clerk said sorry ”I'll put you in our luxury room for your inconvenience”. Great I thought but this room was identical to the room we had, only this one was clean. Ice machine on floor was not working - sign said go to next floor. Went next floor for ice - alarm going off, ice machine not working. Finally found ice 2 floors up. What a nightmare our experience was, won't be going back to this hotel.

Pros: It was clean. It was cheap (during the week). There was no resort fee. There was vinyl plank flooring, not carpet. Restaurant was really good. Location was right on riverwalk. Cons: No refrigerator or microwave. AC was not turned on when I entered room (it was 109 degrees outside). WiFi was present, but slow. Furniture was sp**** and odd (desk, but no chair; weird piece of furniture that was larger than a chair, but smaller than a loveseat; no towel bar by sink; bare white walls). Cheaper rooms are in a separate building far away from front desk. No place to do laundry. The required $75 deposit is actually charged to your credit card and refunded - they don't just hold your card number in case of damage (this is really off-putting). Bottom line: If you're looking for a cheap overnight stay in Laughlin or relatively close to I-40, this is the place. But if you're looking for a weekend getaway, you might spring for something a tad pricier to get more value. Come to the restaurant either way - food was high quality, large portions, and relatively reasonably priced (I had 2 meals there).

Very disappointed with how I was spoken to when all I did was ask a question. Not sure if she was having a bad day or if she's always like this. Extremely rude and very unprofessional. The room was pretty clean just had some spiderwebs and alot of dust around the window. The balcony had alot of dead bugs.
