In short, the Burg hotel with its multiple restaurants, particularly the cafeteria/self-serve restaurant is our favourite lunch spot when skiing the white circle (Weisse Ring). Wonderful food, reasonable prices, friendly service, spacious and comfortable dining area, easy access on the Piste, been stopping there since the mid 1990s and never disappointed with the food or service. Long version: I wanted to share our family review about the Burg Hotel Cafeteria/Self-Serve Restaurant being a excellent, high quality lunch spot for skiers and visitors to Lech. We fly and travel a long way to come ski in the Arlberg region and our journey often takes us to this place for a consistently delicious meal. Since we have been coming here for over a decade, we thought it would be time to give a review. For history, my father has been coming to eat lunch at the Burg Hotel Restaurant nearly every ski season for over twenty years, and for many of those years, my brother and I have had the pleasure of accompanying him and sharing/enjoying lunch here. For those English speakers new to the setup, the Berg Hotel is a well known luxury hotel in Oberlech with various five star Burg restaurants (Castle Restaurant, Lechtal Room, Castle Tavern, Verandah Deck) and a cool bar (Ice Bar #1). All of these restaurants are sublime quality, with offerings from haute cuisine to high quality family meals, but in particular we wanted to note that the restaurant behind the Ice Bar is the place we keep coming back to. It is our favourite stop-over during our ski breaks in Lech, and for very good reason. We have noticed that this particular part of the Burg Hotel is quite popular with families and skiers (great location, ski-in and ski-out or take the Oberlech cable car) looking for a quiet break in nice surrounds and most importantly, a consistently delicious meal. Once you find it, you discover a traditionally cosy (Austrian style) decorated cafeteria area with a restaurant section and dining area. There is a salad bar, a pastry bar, cold and hot drinks section, and an impressive hot meal selection area in front of a glass-walled professional kitchen. The dining area is a lovely spacious timber panelled area with skylights and room for skiers to come and go. This place is clean, nicely decorated and a lovely place to dine for skiers on the move. So why are we giving this review? Lech is well known for high class restaurants and hotels, and there is a lot of competition for best cuisine and service. Even more, the Burg has several restaurant sections within the venue, with more luxury styling and chef hat standard menu options, so why focus on this particular area in a place with so much competition? I think the answer is quality of cuisine and Austrian hospitality. This just stands out for us. It seems clear to us that the Burg Hotel has very high standards for all areas of their dining operations, and this professionalism runs through the entire operation. We don’t know
