Huaxu Inn (Lijiang Ancient City Sifang Street Branch)

Booked this inn randomly, and it turned out to be a lucky find on this trip! The inn is located right in the heart of the ancient town, with popular spots just outside the door, making it super convenient to get around. It's quiet despite being in a bustling area. The bluestone paths and wooden doors and windows give it the charm of an old house with a distinct Chinese style. The inn is beautifully maintained and incredibly clean. The soundproofing truly exceeded expectations. We stayed on the second floor, and we barely heard any noise from guests chatting or walking downstairs. My friend worked late into the night, but it didn't disturb my sleep at all. As for hygiene, it was impeccable. The bed linen and duvet covers felt dry and soft, with no odd smells. The shower in the bathroom had no standing water, and the toilet was spotless – clearly cleaned with great care. The air conditioning heated up quickly, and the Wi-Fi signal was strong, so streaming videos or working was seamless. The owner and staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. They made us tea as soon as we arrived. When they learned we wanted to visit nearby ancient towns, they even drew us a handwritten map, marking must-see attractions and photogenic spots. When we messaged them with questions during our stay, they replied instantly and helped us solve issues. This inn offers great value for money and perfect attention to detail – I absolutely have to recommend it to my friends!

The location is right in the heart of the Old Town. Step outside and you're at Sifang Street and Oil-Paper Umbrella Street. The Big Water Wheel is also very close by. The staff, especially the young man, was really enthusiastic. He gave us great recommendations for food and activities, and they were all fantastic – no duds! Every time we went out, he'd remind us not to buy random stuff and to message him if we needed anything. The restaurants he recommended even gave us free drinks. Truly exceptional service!
