Normandie Hostel

I was greeted immediately by a guest who offered to help me with my bags & a staff member who confirmed my reservation. The area & house was clean. The bedroom has a privacy curtain for each bed. The kitchen had your basics except it didn't have a microwave. They do enforce quiet hours after 10pm, but even during the day it's pretty quiet. The neighborhood can be a little off putting to some, but it's down the street from the bus & if you drive it's in a central location to a lot of places (food & fun).

Street parking was easy and free, and easy to get into the hostel itself, instructions very clear. I stayed in all-female room. When I checked myself in, my bed did not have pillows, blanket, or any bedding except the fitted sheet on the mattress. Could not find any additional linens, towels, anything at all. Kitchen was filthy when I arrived, spilled food in fridge, no basics at all on hand including bottled water that I could find. Bunk had USB port but no electric outlet to charge, luckily I had a cable adapter that worked. Bathroom was clean but trash can was overflowing when I arrived at 4 pm. The other girls in the room were loud, left their stuff everywhere and filled the entire closet. No locking cabinets or storage to put your stuff securely, just a closet that everyone shares so your stuff is never safe if unattended. Also, our room did not have a fan, people on balcony were smoking ********* and it made our room reek like it. However, convenient location, very cheap, and I would stay here again if I was traveling very light. Definitely bring noise cancelling earplugs or headphones, and a USB charger. Also bring your own towel and pillow.

Relatively new place, everything is nice and pretty. There are bus stops, food spots nearby. Fast wifi, clean bathroom (one per each room),which is great. Only 4 beds in each room with big wardrobe space. Private area for bed, personal light and outlet by bed. Well equipped kitchen with kettle, stove, microwave, fridge. There is an opportunity for laundry if needed. So far was excited for accommodation.
