I guess it can't be helped since Male is so small, but the shower was right next to the toilet, which made it very inconvenient to use. It's in the city center, so there are supermarkets and restaurants, but there are so many motorbikes that it's difficult to walk around, and the exhaust fumes made it uncomfortable to stroll. Having to drag my suitcase to a road where cars could pass was also a bit of a downside. I also stayed at a hotel in Hulhumale along the beach, and personally, I found it much more pleasant there as it wasn't as crowded.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The shuttle service was very convenient for getting to the airport or other places. It's also very close to the fish market, city center, and a large supermarket. I'll definitely choose this place again next time!

This is my seventh time in the Maldives, and this is by far the best transit hotel I've stayed at in Malé. They offer complimentary hotel pick-up and drop-off, and handle luggage throughout your stay. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Malé, very close to both the fish market and the Grand Friday Mosque. The room was clean and tidy, and the service was impeccable. I'll definitely choose this hotel again for my next transit.

This time for our Maldives vacation, we specifically booked this transit hotel before heading to the island. The overall stay far exceeded our expectations, making it perfect for travelers arriving late and waiting to go to their island resort the next day. Both the value for money and the service were exceptional. First and foremost, the free buffet breakfast was the biggest surprise – it truly catered to Chinese palates! Unlike the generally unappetizing cold food often found abroad, the variety was rich, the flavors were mild and palatable, and the ingredients were fresh. The hot dishes, main courses, and side dishes were well-balanced and perfectly suited our tastes. It was honestly the most comfortable breakfast I had during this trip. It's a shame we arrived so late the night before and were too tired to wake up early enough to fully enjoy it – a real pity. I sincerely recommend that everyone not miss it! The hotel's free airport shuttle service was incredibly thoughtful. Upon arrival, we didn't have to worry about finding transportation or navigating the journey; everything was taken care of, making it completely hassle-free. The drivers were exceptionally enthusiastic, proactively helping with luggage, and drove smoothly. The round-trip transfers to and from the airport were very efficient, which was truly a relief for travelers after a long flight. Although the front desk staff didn't speak Chinese, their service attitude was excellent and incredibly patient. When there were communication barriers, they would proactively use translation software to facilitate communication bit by bit, carefully verifying check-in information and shuttle times. They answered every question and were actively cooperative throughout, with no hint of perfunctoriness. The service was absolutely spot-on. The room's overall decor leaned towards an older, Chinese retro style, not a trendy new luxury design, but it felt solid and comfortable. Most importantly, the cleanliness was impeccable. The entire room was spotlessly clean, the bedding was tidy and odor-free, the bathroom was dry and bright, and the facilities were complete. It made for a particularly peaceful and secure overnight stay. Overall, as a transit hotel for the Maldives, there's absolutely nothing to fault! The service is attentive, transportation is convenient, the breakfast is suitable for Chinese guests, it's clean and comfortable, and the value for money is outstanding. I highly recommend it to friends preparing for an island vacation who need a comfortable overnight stopover upon arrival!

The airport transfer was very punctual, and the hotel is only 15 minutes from the airport. It's a great option for a layover.

The hotel was a bit hard to find, but thankfully they offered airport pickup. I only realized how close it was to the bustling city center when I was out on a city walk. The room was very spacious; I booked a suite, and the sofa bed was actually a double. All the amenities were well-equipped. I also noticed that the bottled water in the Maldives is filtered locally, and the water quality is quite soft. Breakfast was decent; they had everything you could want, and the fruits and vegetables were much fresher than what I saw in the supermarket. There was also an à la carte menu available. Overall, it was a good stay.

The hotel is conveniently located near several attractions, including the fish market, national museum, and mosque, all within a five-minute walk. However, light sleepers should be cautious, as the surrounding environment can be noisy. Pigeon cooing, calls to prayer from nearby mosques, and construction noise significantly impact sleep quality. The hotel itself is older, and the facilities are quite dated. The minibar only offers complimentary water and tea bags. The bathroom lacks air conditioning, and the shower stall only has a curtain. The toiletries provided are of poor quality, so it's best to bring your own. On the bright side, it was relatively clean. Several power outlets were loose and didn't charge devices properly, requiring a travel adapter. There were no outlets near the bed. The sofa bed was sunken in the middle and very uncomfortable. The dining experience was subpar. The dinner buffet was awkward, with limited options, and the semi-open grill left a lingering smell on our clothes. Breakfast was a combination of à la carte and buffet. The à la carte options were quite good, but the buffet part was, again, disappointing. Our airport pickup took 15 minutes to arrive, and I paid an additional $15 for private transfer. The return trip to the airport was a shared, complimentary service.

From landing at the airport to the hotel, and even dining and getting around, everything was so comfortable, I didn't want to leave. 🥰 🚗 Transportation & Getting Around The hotel's location is absolutely perfect! Whether you're heading to the pier for a speedboat to another island, or exploring Malé city, it's incredibly convenient. During this trip, whether it was the expansive roads on the sea bridge or the narrow streets of the city, taking a taxi was always smooth. The drivers were really friendly too, so I didn't have to worry about transportation at all. It's super friendly for first-time visitors to Malé! 🏨 The Somerset Hotel Service & Details I felt so welcomed as soon as I arrived! The front desk staff were incredibly enthusiastic and prepared welcome gifts for us. Even the envelope had my name printed on it – talk about attention to detail! The room was clean and tidy, with full amenities. The lounge area was tastefully decorated, and the corner with dried flower arrangements had a wonderful ambiance. Coming back to the hotel at night to unwind after a long day was truly therapeutic. 🍴 Dining Experience The hotel's restaurant was another fantastic surprise! - The seafood platter was incredibly generous! Crab, squid, mussels, clams... all fresh and plump. Paired with refreshing lemon and herbs, every bite was bursting with the taste of the sea. The portion was huge, easily enough for two people! - And then there was the local-style fried rice. The grains of rice were perfectly separated, complemented by tender chicken and a soulful spicy sauce. It was so fragrant, I polished off the entire plate! The side dishes like fries and grilled vegetables were also very flavorful, even the dipping sauce was so good I wanted to take it home. 😂 💖 Overall Impression Whether it was the convenience of transportation, the hotel service, or the dining experience, I couldn't find a single fault! Every day here was so relaxing and comfortable. It's an excellent choice for a transit or stopover in Malé. Next time I come to the Maldives, I'm definitely staying here again!
