Riad Jibril

Kasbah Marrakech|0.23km from Bab Agnaou
We had the pleasure of staying at Riad Jibril during our visit to Marrakech, and what a delightful experience it was! Our host, Iheb, truly deserves the title of a legend. From the moment we checked in until we checked out, he made our stay memorable. Whilr it may not be a 5-star hotel, it provided a unique and authentic Moroccan experience that exceeded our expectations. The riad itself, with its traditional architecture, was clean and inviting. The highlight was undoubtedly the serene terrace, a peaceful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the medina. One evening, we indulged in sheesha on the terrace, a delightful experience that only cost us around 70 MAD. We also had the pleasure of dining on the terrace, where we enjoyed delicious tagines at a very reasonable price of 60 MAD each. The chef's culinary skills were truly impressive. The breakfast served each morning was traditional and homely too! What made our stay truly special was the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by Iheb and the staff. We arrived as guests but left feeling like friends. We were even befriended by the two adorable resident kittens, Sofia, the long-haired tabby, and Leena, the ginger kitten. Their presence added an extra touch of charm to our stay. The location of Riad Jibril was perfect, and the camel in front of the money exchange served as an excellent landmark. The riad was on the opposite alleyway, second door, making it easy to find. We especially enjoyed its proximity to Kasbah, near Zeitun Cafe, a favorite spot of ours to visit at night. The lantern-lit terrace at the cafe provided majestic views that made our evenings even more memorable.

The hotel is located in the heart of the old town. Close to an ancient tomb that is more than 500 years old. There are many people visiting every day. This hotel can be said to be called Taoyuan in the city, but the surrounding environment is not very good. According to the waiter, the hotel started building a new building in 2002 and first bought a house, and later bought eight more. The owner, a Frenchman, renovated the nine houses as a whole and connected them together. The design is very elegant, reflecting the Moroccan national style. Every detail is very delicate and can be called a work of art. The three-story roof is covered with flowers and various layouts. Very novel. It feels extremely cozy. The hotel's food and beverage varieties are relatively small and the taste is average, not as good as other nine points. The price is not cheap either. Overall, this hotel is quite unique. Staying for a day or two is no problem.

Riad Beata

Let’s start from the beginning…. Myself and my son arrived at the Riad in the evening . We were followed by someone who spoke about knowing where the Riad was . We DID NOT ask him for directions . Once we arrived at the property the manager let us in. The man was demanding money from us for showing us to the property . I explained several times I did not ask for directions and would not be giving him any money . The manager stood with the door open and even allowed him to step in . Why wouldn’t you tell him to leave and shut the door instead of allowing him to try and intimate us ? Luckily I’m not easily intimidated but it’s not the point it wasn’t a nice start to our holiday . Once we arrived in the room it looked completely different to the pictures extremely small for 2 adults . Nevertheless we left our luggage and left out to explore for an hour . Once back I sat on the bed and noticed how hard it was . (Single beds were requested due to sharing with my 21 year old son). The next morning I had pain down my left side due to the bed being so hard so went to speak to the manager . This went on for a few days back and forth , asking for extra duvets to sleep on . I was then told there was nothing that could be done . As I was still unhappy I was told to contact *********** . I could tell the manager wasn’t particularly bothered or interested. I then asked to speak with the owner (the managers wife ) and was told she was away in the USA. I managed to get her number and sent 2 messages . Both messages were ignored . Over a period of 5 days I spoke with the manager face to face and on WhatsApp numerous times . Why as a manager you are communicating on WhatsApp is beyond me. Laziness and lack of interest ( you live within with Riad) Quick to ask for the tax on the first day though. I don’t think it’s fair I paid almost £600 to be treated like that . You ruined our first experience of Marrakesh. It’s not good enough to say ‘what should I do about it ‘ and ‘sorry’ I should have been refunded for the days left after my complaint so I could go and stay somewhere with a reasonable bed . I even explained I’d donated a kidney last year so needed a comfortable bed . This is not too much to ask it’s basic . Didn’t want to refund any money at all…GREEDY. Not sure why you some platforms you’ve advised a rooftop pool ? It’s a small terrace area with your personal laundry room . Over the wall is a building of rubble where rubbish is burnt and a graveyard so not a nice view at all . Also can I address the breakfast as it looks nothing like the picture . It consist of 2 flat pastries , a small orange juice , an over sweet Moroccan tea , a small jam & marmalade and a huge basked of bread . This is the same every day . The bathroom Was not upto a good hygiene standard (see pics) I informed the manager the hot water had gone cold . This went on for 2 days with an ‘engineer ‘ who had no idea what he was doing banging for 2 days throughout the day and night causing the

The architecture and design of the riad are absolutely stunning. A true authentic Moroccan experience with great attention to detail such as mosaic tiles, fountain, hammam, tearoom and rooftop pool. The roof terrace is charming and the property is located right in the heart of Marrakech. The breakfast was abundant and extremely tasty, best yogurt we've ever had! Our rooms were stunning and clean. But what truly makes this hotel so special are the people. The staff here and incredible. The hospitality was on another level. Ismail, Mustafah and the rest of the team were incredibly kind and helpful, always happy to help with a smile on their face. You can really see the passion they have for their work. They made us feel like the only guest at the hotel and truly made our stay seamless. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we returned to Marrakech.

There are milk, mint tea, coffee. Here is a new one, the boss is very dedicated, the front of the house is also very dedicated, I wish business is booming!
Riad Dar Massai

Kasbah
It is very hard not to like this place and its charming hosts. First, this Riad is located in the kasbah, which is the old city of Marrakech. You will get picked up by a driver and he will drop you off on the main artery. The host of the Riad will pick you up and walk you through a labyrinth of old cobble-streets that are not wider than your hallway at home. Once you get through them .. several left turns and a couple of right turns you will land on an undescript front door. Don't be fooled, get ready to be completely enchanted by the decor, the details, the colours, the smells - you will step into a time machine that will take you back to an epoc where time stood still. The rooms are unique, each one with its theme and colours. The room I stayed at was spacious with ample room to move around. The bed was a queen size with an enchanting entrance into a marvellously decorated bathroom in a terra-cotta colour. The water pressure on the shower was strong and the hot water was instantaneous. The morning breakfast is prepared by a kind lady, but she arrives after 8am. The breakfast is very light ... don't expect a hearty meal. The hosts are always there, to answer questions and to engage in discussion of all kinds. Sitting in the Riad by the inground pool is a delight. The sunshine seeps through the top comings to give you just enough ambiance to put the setting in place. They all speak several languages, so they can accommodate you very well. Having lunch and dinner, I strongly suggest you roam around the streets and sit in any of the local cafés to have a meal. You will be pleasantly surprised at the quality. The name of the property is Massai, the host said it was because of the owner's belief the Riad was home to people from the Massai tribe. In fact, this is an old Jewish property, as the symbols on the wall are clearly pointing to that. Go up the stairs and onto the terrasse to appreciate a view of the top of the city... There is no TVs and no phones ... but this place will be memorable for many years to come
