We had the pleasure of staying at Riad Jibril during our visit to Marrakech, and what a delightful experience it was! Our host, Iheb, truly deserves the title of a legend. From the moment we checked in until we checked out, he made our stay memorable. Whilr it may not be a 5-star hotel, it provided a unique and authentic Moroccan experience that exceeded our expectations. The riad itself, with its traditional architecture, was clean and inviting. The highlight was undoubtedly the serene terrace, a peaceful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the medina. One evening, we indulged in sheesha on the terrace, a delightful experience that only cost us around 70 MAD. We also had the pleasure of dining on the terrace, where we enjoyed delicious tagines at a very reasonable price of 60 MAD each. The chef's culinary skills were truly impressive. The breakfast served each morning was traditional and homely too! What made our stay truly special was the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by Iheb and the staff. We arrived as guests but left feeling like friends. We were even befriended by the two adorable resident kittens, Sofia, the long-haired tabby, and Leena, the ginger kitten. Their presence added an extra touch of charm to our stay. The location of Riad Jibril was perfect, and the camel in front of the money exchange served as an excellent landmark. The riad was on the opposite alleyway, second door, making it easy to find. We especially enjoyed its proximity to Kasbah, near Zeitun Cafe, a favorite spot of ours to visit at night. The lantern-lit terrace at the cafe provided majestic views that made our evenings even more memorable.

Lovely would recommend. Cheap and cheerful. Don’t know why people are so negative about this place, I would stay here again. Clean, beds made everyday, clean towels, friendly staff. Located twenty minute walk from the square, and the souks. Off licence around the corner, which sells plenty of beer, wine and spirits. £11.00, for a bottle of wine and six beers. Highly recommended!!!

The roads to the Riad were concerning very run down. Upon arriving Riad looked ok. We were offered mint tea and biscuits whilst checking in. The stairs to our room were very steep, narrow and lacked appropriate hand rails in places. Could be concerning for elderly people. Our room looked nothing like the staged photos on the website. It was dark even with the light on. TV wasn’t tuned in so unusable. The safe didn’t work. Dodgy plug sockets which weren’t fixed to the walls so came out and sparked at times. The bathroom was concerning overall lack of cleanliness. When we arrived the shower didn’t work and neither did the tap. The toilet moved as not fixed. When the water was working it filled the tray which over ran and took literally hours to drain. Towels were of poor quality and discolored. On the plus side there was a kettle and fridge in our room and these worked. I read the breakfast menu and was looking forward to trying it. Upon arriving on the rooftop I noticed that everything apart from the cereal was uncovered. Bees were crawling over the honey, jam, cakes etc. Not very appetizing so only ate the cereal. The next day some of the items were covered but still not the cakes. Unfortunately the acoustics meant that all sound was amplified, so noisy guests talking and moving around frequently woke us sometimes in the middle of the night. I booked the cooking experience which was rather disappointing. We were just taken across the road to a supermarket then an actual market where we purchased coriander and parsley. The chickens were slaughtered for you and prepared, the smell was awful and very offputing. No mint tea ceremony or bread making as advertised on the webpage. I had been really looking forward to that. We prepared a tagine and dessert which was tasty. Booked another excursion to meet the Berbers. Had a private taxi to the Kasbah Africa in the Atlas Mountains, who weren’t even expecting us. Had to wait 90 minutes for our guide. The ‘easy walking trail’ was hard going and dangerous at times. Arrived at a house and offered mint tea and nuts but again no bread making as once again promised. We were able to have a very late lunch and swim. Having paid £144 for this experience I do not feel it was worth it.

The hotel is located in the heart of the old town. Close to an ancient tomb that is more than 500 years old. There are many people visiting every day. This hotel can be said to be called Taoyuan in the city, but the surrounding environment is not very good. According to the waiter, the hotel started building a new building in 2002 and first bought a house, and later bought eight more. The owner, a Frenchman, renovated the nine houses as a whole and connected them together. The design is very elegant, reflecting the Moroccan national style. Every detail is very delicate and can be called a work of art. The three-story roof is covered with flowers and various layouts. Very novel. It feels extremely cozy. The hotel's food and beverage varieties are relatively small and the taste is average, not as good as other nine points. The price is not cheap either. Overall, this hotel is quite unique. Staying for a day or two is no problem.

The gardens and pool are beautiful, well kept, clean and very relaxing. Low music on in the background. Plenty of sunbeds. Drinks brought to you. But - inside the hotel is very different to the outside. The hotel is very dated. Our room to be fair, wasn't the nicest. The bed was rock hard and we both had back aches the next day. The room was cleaned daily but it's the little things that aren't so little anymore. The build up of grout and silicone turning black and broken tiles in the bathroom. Dirty cups to rinse your mouth out. The bedding is too short for your feet. Not kidding,! The plus side was we had a balcony to sit out on. Hot water. We met the cleaner and she was very friendly. We only had breakfast. Very minimal choice but enough to fill you up. Eggs, ham, cheese, tomato, cucumber, cereal, milk, cakes and croissants, handmade flat bread and coffee. No tea. We bought pizza a few times for lunch, quite nice but the salad tasted off so we didn't buy that again. Drinks at the bar, cocktails, beer, spirits. Nice big lounge to sit in next to the bar. The location is definitely up there with the best. Short walking distance to everything. The staff, I have to say, are very friendly. All of them. The bar staff especially. Had some nice chats with them. We found to be the only English as everyone there was French. This didn't bother us. This hotel could be really good if it had an overhaul. For instance, the balcony door lock kept falling off. We were in room 245. A lick of paint, finishing touches sorted out. Made a bit more modern. My 3 is based on average/good. We enjoyed our stay. But glad we only done 3 nights as the bed so hard. If the hotel was as good as it's gardens, I would have given more stars. You get what you pay for. I knew it wasn't going to be outstanding, I definitely feel I got my money's worth. But I hope my comments are taken on board as this could really help the hotel going forward. Also the cost of food a tad high for what you get.

The location is right by the sea, the scenery is very good, the downstairs is the beach. The end of the hotel can see the endless Atlantic! The room is not facing the sea (maybe there are very few, the estimated price is very high), but the balcony of every room can see the sea! The room is very large, clean and comfortable, and the internet is very good. The room has a kitchen, the tableware is also in line, you can make your own instant noodles. Moroccan things are not very appetizing, or noodles! Especially if you have been in Morocco for a few days, you are tired of eating Taji pot and other foods. At this time, a bowl of instant noodles can make you burst into tears! When it comes to buying instant noodles, you have to mention that the Wanda's commercial center (one-twentieth of Wanda's) is next to the hotel. This is one of the few super-comprehensive markets in Casablanca. This is a wealthy area. Carrefour in the mall, everything! There are also fast food such as KFC and McDonald's in the mall. This place is not far from the Hassan II Mosque, just take a taxi! You are a tourist, the driver does not give you a watch, you can price! We checked in to our deluxe room, and it was a horrible stay. First off, the deluxe room building is the furthest building away from the hotel, and by the time we get to our room, the view from our balcony is of a construction site and parking lot. Our room had a particularly strong vinegar smell to it, and we asked to move rooms. We were told that every deluxe room was sold out and we would be able to move rooms the next day. Next day comes around and we didn’t hear from the hotel. Every call to guest services took at least 3-5 minutes until someone answered or called back. We also came back to our hotel room unlocked, and it seemed housekeeping didn’t truly close our door when they cleaned it. On our last night, the A/C didn’t seem to work. We called guest services and the lady I spoke to told me that it was turned off for the whole hotel. When asked why or when will it be turned back on, she abruptly interrupts me and says I’m transferring you to the front desk. I waited for at least 2 minutes on the phone before someone from the front desk to answer my call, and he informs me that someone will come check our A/C. We love staying at different hotels in different countries and had no issues with other hotels in Marrakech, however, our stay at Movenpick was very underwhelming and staff didn’t seem to care at all. This has been a very awful experience, and hope that the hotel management can make a much better experience and improvement for others.

Well it’s a beautiful hotel the staff spa and food are all fantastic . Beds super comfy and all around very relaxing . However the check in took forever and the gentleman checking us in seemed a little ‘off’ . He didn’t seem ‘present ‘ and dragged it out . We just wanted our rooms . We had a lovely time until our last night when we asked the same gentleman ( I think he’s concierge ?’ To advise us of a good restaurant . He sent us to place that was in short like an airport cafe . We fought the crowds to get there which was awful . I guess there was a festival and it was so chaotic and anxiety inducing . He should have told us . The couple next to us were listening to us talking and she said “ omg I was just thinking it’s like an airport “ There was no alcohol which he should have informed us . He did not . The tables were plastic the lights bright and the speakers were shorting . We put our order in but after waiting sooooo long for it we told them we were leaving . They made us pay for food we DID NOT eat . Sometimes concierge sends you to a friends family restaurant . How he thought guests from a luxury hotel who drink would like it here I have no clue . So we returned to the hotel paid for ANOTHER dinner . I spoke to the manager and he had no clue why the weird concierge would send us there and mentioned all the lovely places we could have gone to . It ruined our last night … waiting to hear back from the manager at the hotel as he said he would compensate us . Still nothing .

The hotel is amazing the staff the food the services… everything is wonderful. Essadi hotel located in te city center where everything is closed: restaurants, drug stores, coffee shops and supermarkets. I recommend it strongly and hope you will enjoy it as we did 😌
