This was a lodging for a tour. The room was a Japanese-style room, old but well-maintained. The meal was a Japanese banquet, with rice cooked in a kettle for each person, and it was very delicious.

We stayed here during the cold season. It was a large inn with a well-built structure that evoked the Showa era, and we really felt like we were staying at a hot spring inn. The building itself is old, but the staff's hospitality was very good, with words of appreciation for our long journey. We also enjoyed the many delicious dishes prepared using local specialties such as blackthroat seaperch, crab, and shrimp. We were particularly impressed by the clear, delicious taste of the clams from Lake Shinji that were served in a soup, and the freshness that can only be found in the local area. Needless to say, the hot springs were of excellent quality, and we were able to relax and unwind in the spacious baths.

The service, hot springs, and rooms were all very good. The hot spring was a lovely open-air bath that felt like you were in a bamboo forest. For breakfast, you were free to serve rice made from Nitama rice and clam soup, but grilled fish and many other small dishes were individually prepared, so it was a luxurious and delicious morning. The portions were so large that I couldn't finish it. It was also fun to walk around Tamasakuyu Shrine and Yuyakushi Square, which are close by. Although the plan only included breakfast, there were bars called Ryuto and Sobatomi nearby, so I didn't have any trouble finding dinner. Both were cheap and delicious. There are frequent buses to Matsue Castle and Matsue Station from a nearby bus stop. There is also one round trip bus to Izumo Taisha Shrine, but it leaves from the same bus stop, so it's a very convenient location for sightseeing. It was a great inn that made me glad I came to Shimane.

The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable. I'm glad I stayed here and would like to go again next year. I was also grateful for the sake and rice I received as souvenirs.

On August 12th of this year, we held our wedding ceremony at Izumo Taisha Shrine and booked a stay at Tamatsukuri Onsen to commemorate the occasion online. When we arrived, we were surprised by the level of deterioration of the facilities, which is unheard of these days. It looked like an abandoned building. The front desk and entrance had a dark and damp atmosphere, and the room where we were given our room key had a low door, and when we entered, the bathroom was exposed, and next to it was a dresser? It was full of Showa-era vibes.... We passed through there and went to the room, which was a tatami room of about 20 tatami mats, and it was filled with a moldy smell. The cause of this was a fake air conditioner that was breaking down...the smell was coming from there. The dresser where we hung our clothes also smelled moldy...and there were dozens of unused chairs stuffed into it. It was so bad that it was hard to imagine that this room had been used as a guest room for a while. When my husband sat down on the chair, there was a cracking sound and the chair broke... The handle of the sliding door was also removed, and the wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling off. Above all, the air in the whole room smelled of mold, which made me feel bad. To change my mood, I headed to the large public bath. The large public bath was also bleak, and hair dryers and amenities were scattered around in a mess. There was a small lizard stuck to the glass in the dressing room, and I screamed. When I went to the open-air bath, the water felt slippery and strange. I like hot springs, but I felt sick and got out early. When I returned to the room, the smell of mold was still the same... It was raining heavily that day, so I couldn't open the window, and my husband and I put on masks and went to bed to avoid inhaling mold as much as possible. I was tired from the wedding ceremony, so I was shocked at how bad it was, and I slept lightly until morning and couldn't get rid of my fatigue at all. Since breakfast was included, I went to the venue, and there were about 20 guests other than us. However, there were no other guests in the building where we were shown to, so we were probably crammed into a building that is not usually used. Breakfast was all frozen food and tasted terrible no matter what I ate. I was so tired from the night before that I had no appetite. Looking at the website, the rooms and the large public bath were very nice, but to pay 14,000 yen per person for a hot spring inn like this seems like a rip-off. I will never stay at a hot spring inn like this again, and I hope that those who are considering booking in the future do not have the same terrible experience as us. That is why I posted this review.
