Aparthotel HG Jardin de Menorca

My wife and I had a lovely two-week holiday at HG Jardin de Menorca. Everything about our trip was perfect (hats off to Jet2 Holidays too). The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Everyone spoke good English and tolerated my attempts at speaking Spanish. Wi-Fi was excellent throughout the hotel, including our room and even the pool area. We stayed in a Superior Junior Suite, room 2A101. It had everything that we could need, including UK TV channels (sometimes there was some flickering but nothing to get fussed about), hob, fridge, microwave etc. The room was very clean and tidy, with a very comfortable bed. Loads of hanging space and room for all your stuff. It was cleaned every day, including new towels. The shower was great, tons of hot water and great pressure. We had a good view over the pool area, and sometimes sat there just watching the world go by. The grounds were immaculate with grass areas all round the pool and lovely palm trees everywhere. The pool area was well laid out with lots of loungers and parasols. There was a lifeguard on duty all day, every day too. We stayed B/B and the breakfast was superb. A good mix of cereals, all sorts of breads (including a toaster), hams, cheeses, jams and coffee machines. Also a great range of hot stuff including a chef making eggs and bacon dishes. We ate at the hotel bar area (just next to the pool) a few times. It was great, with a mix of salads, burgers and local dishes. Everything we had was well presented and reasonable value. We had thunderstorms on a couple of days so we made use of the Fitness Room – a treadmill, stepper, cycle with multigym and free weights – everything you could need. We used the free local shuttle minibus a few times too: down and back to the beach area in Son Bou. We always booked to make sure we got a seat, and everything worked well. There is a well-stocked supermarket within the hotel complex and we found everything that we needed. Overall, we had a great time at the hotel. We would definitely go back: we couldn’t fault it at all.

Currently coming to the end of my stay, what a great stay it was, I wasn't expecting much, I just wanted a cheap short break away in the sun, I was pleasantly surprise. Firstly as a female solo traveller, I was a little nervous, but the friendly reception made me feel welcome and safe I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a Sea view which was a lovely touch as I was celebrating my Birthday. Beaches are beautiful, shallow waters ideal for little ones, a lovely beach restaurant that I used daily for lunch, reasonable prices (Pizza and a drink 13 euros) All the staff were so friendly and hard working, nothing was to much, considering the hotel closes soon for the season, they remained upbeat. Should you want to venture out there are shops,a supermarket and restaurants all within walking distance. I booked an Island excursion which was a great way to explore Menorca stress free .You can book ticket's at the same place as you exchange money, which is by the supermarket opposite hotel entrance, (follow signs, slightly down some steps) it cost £32 we were picked up at 8.45am back 6ish. The your guide was called Rafael, he owns and runs the business, as he has done for over 50 years! he is so passionate. You could join group lunch for 17 euros for a set menu, I did my own thing found a lovely cafe Back to the hotel, there is evening entertainment, a small kids park, I think 3 pools, lots of areas to chill, the main clientele at the time of my stay were Spanish, as Oct seems to be a popular time for locals to go on vacation, I quite like that, felt like you were actually in Spain The only thing I think that could do with improvement is the food, breakfast was fine, normal sausages, bacon, waffles, pastries etc, unfortunately dinner let it down a little as more of a canteen feel, quite bland, lots of beige. I did HB as it was a minimal extra cost, however I'd probably stick to BB in future, it may have just been me due to being vegetarian, however I did hear other guests grumble. As I mentioned there is the beach restaurant, and restaurants within the vicinity so plenty of other choices. All in all I would definitely stay here again, you couldn't fault the staff, the beach, the atmosphere, the pool, given all the positives I can oversee the canteen 😁 Ps Airport was about 30mins away, I booked transfers with Shuttle direct online, as you come out of departures turn left, the desk advise ETA, on return you just scan your QR code, (also shows return time on confirmation they had you on arrival)
