Hotels near Piazzaffari Shopping club in Milan

The hotel is somewhat off-centre (away from the business districts of Milano), but within broader city centre with reasonable public transport (~20 mins tramway including wait at the stop) and ~10 mins by taxi. Lively city area for non-business travellers (tourists) with choice of restaurants and more public transport links to areas of interest. The cleanliness is rather good, I only scored it less (2/5) because of the interior in bad need of renovation. The design is 1970-s/1980-s and the age since last decoration is probably not much fresher. This gives it the appearance of a run-down place, although they make good effort to keep it clean. The choice of darker brow-nish colours, combined with the installation of (very) very economic light bulbs, makes the room feel too dark and thus - less pleasant to stay in. For a business traveller it is impossible to read anything outside the spot of the reading lamp. It is also impossible to shave in the dark-ish bathroom, except for people who know their face well enough to shave with their eyes closed. The extra lamp above the mirror did not work, it was a bare little bulb (apparently in need of replacement) and the lampshade gone. Further need for maintenance in the bathroom was the sink - with the waste plug not opening to empty the sink, and the latter filling to the safety hole near the top, even form just a brief handwash.. The breakfast area has capacity for a busy crowd in the rush hour of all tourists taking a late breakfast, but the staff struggle to serve everyone fast enough. Some supplies were not replenished (e.g. bread, the fruit juices, milk for coffees) and later nobody ever came to the table to ask if we need something (perhaps they are not meant to serve tables, just clean them and replenish supplies?) The reception area was much brighter lit than the rooms, had modern automatic glass doors, and overall felt newer and better. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Based on the overall experience, approx. 4/5 is a reasonable score, but by the hotel categorisation criteria I think 4 stars is too much and 3-star would describe it more accurately. They should remember that satisfaction is always biased by expectations - from the higher expectations of '4 stars' there would be more dissatisfied guests (like yours truly) than if you honestly promise a decent 3-star experience (then I'd have scored everything 5/5). This wouldn't impact revenues as, from what I know form MIlano hotels, the price was very competitive and would fit a 3-star property. Would I recommend it? To tourists - yes; to business travellers - only as a backup in case of fully-booked Milano like duringthe trade fair or Fashion Week ;)

This hotel is under refurbishment Our double room was clean tidy unfortunately scaffold was up and to make matters worse the aircon didn’t work on arrival I went called the concierge and he came up to room presuming I couldn’t work it Immediately he told us to pack and gave us a upgrade to a room with a kitchen and superb spa shower and working air con The parking area at rear is secured The location of hotel is excellent only 5 mins walk to City Life Mall with shops and restaurants Or alternatively cross in front of hotel and catch the NO 19 tram it is only 8 stops to Cathedral and city centre and passes the thriving city restaurants and shops in 10 minutes This hotel has a James Bond theme a bit quirky but overall a great place to stay in Milano

The breakfast was good. The room and the bathroom were clean. The place where it was located was near the stations. Restaurants were also near. It was very central. The service was also very gentle.

A few years ago this was Mini Hotel Portello, very known among conventioneers heading to Milan Expo. Recently it has been acquired by B&B Hotels. Husband and myself spent there six days during our house renovation, we are very pleased about our staying. We got an updated room, spacious and bright, overlooking Via Silva; we were on third floor and never were annoyed by traffic nor by noise from street. There is storage space enough for an urban stay or short vacation, just one drawer though. Plenty of plugs for your devices, two chairs ( no sofa nor armchair - in Milan space is very precious!!). Bathroom was ample, well appointed, but a bit dated - very clean though. Room was serviced every day, I would say it was sparkling clean. We loved their buffet breakfast/so called ”Better than brunch”, they offer choices for everyone, gluten free and vegan included. The ”Sweet corner” had brioches,muffins, donuts and different cakes that were constantly replenished. At the ”Salty corner” we enjoyed Leerdammer and Brie cheese, assorted salami (Parma included) , scrambled eggs and wurstel. Of course there were freshly baked different kinds of bread, jam, Nutella, yoghurt and assorted cereals, milk , tea , a coffee machine (so so expresso for us Italians!!) and fresh orange juice. Definitely that good breakfast display can keep you going until dinner time!! B&B offers also a small bar and ”shop” with essentials such us ”forgotten” toiletries,bags of chips, shortbreads , sodas , bottles of water and, I believe, a few choices of wine. At walking distance - less than 5 minutes - there are two underground stations with different lines, you can reach Duomo square in twenty minutes! At walking distance,10 minutes, you can reach Citylife centre that offers many restaurants and various shops. A convenient supermarket is nearby as well. Highly reccomended

This hotel is in a good location and the staff are very helpful and friendly, although those on reception are not always very fast (or their systems are unnecessarily complex). The breakfast is excellent and there is a lovely garden for al fresco eating. The ladies on the breakfast team were brilliant; the men rather less so. (Why keep on clearing tables without a tray so you have to go back and forth three times as much, as well as it looking and being very unprofessional?) The hotel is quite dated and the bathrooms definitely need an upgrade. Our room had a small TV on a stand, which I haven't seen for ever, with no Sky or international channels as far as we could make out. They also don't appear to have enough housekeeping staff, as when we returned to our room at past 3pm, it still hadn't been cleaned. But the main problem was the group of Greek 16-year-olds who spent half the night (until near 3am on one night) rushing around, yelling, banging doors, etc. The person in charge of the group couldn't have cared less about this antisocial behaviour, and the hotel staff were far fewer than all the rowdy adolescents, so it was a losing battle. This ruined our stay, as well as that of many other ”normal” travellers.

Just a word: I'm a shit! I have sleeped a night in this hostel for need (with two friends fortunately!!), an experience I don't advise anyone. At first the girl who checked in told us “it's a 50s hostel, so wait for this,” we thought at the beginning it was ironical but it was really like that. It was still in the 50s for the CLEASE speech. The structure is decadent, dirty. A room on the ground floor, half-stop door, “balcony” connecting to all the other rooms with door that is directly on the traffic without even a tent (so they could see inside)!!! The beds were linen, no couchs (and I have to say less bad, because I used the towels they provide you...). To do not mention the bathrooms with unexisting cleaning: washing boxes, bathrooms with no key to close, and on 5, 4 was without toilet paper. I did not do the shower for fear of the conditions in which it was. Well, I and my friends have laughed not to cry, but it would be a place to look again or close, given the price you ask for a night!!

It is good to find such a hotel in Milan at this price. Although it is a little expensive, it is worth it. The rooms have been upgraded and the view is particularly good. I also helped park the car in the garage 100 years ago.

I stayed in this hotel for almost two weeks in March and April 2023. I was satisfied in every way. The reception staff are all very experienced, helpful and kind. Special thanks to the Mr. Stefano and Mr. Simon and the all other colleagues. The breakfast was also very good. The hospitality of the ladies in the breakfast section was excellent. I had a long stay and the hotel staff treated me in such a way that I didn't feel like I was away from home. My room was big and very clean. The ladies who were in charge of cleaning the room were experienced in their work. All in all, I had a very good experience of staying there and I also strongly recommend this hotel to others. In Milan, I have also stayed at B&B Hotel Milano Cenisio Garibaldi, Hotel degli Arcimboldi, Lloyd Hotel, Hotel Pierre Milano, Hilton Milan & Mokinba Hotel King. My reviews, to compare, can be found on TripAdvisor. Pros: - Location: (Walking) Porta Nuova (6mins), Corso Como (8mins), Brera Art Gallery (15mins), Monumental Cemetery (17mins), The Fashion District (20mins). - Bathroom amenities: Soap bar, combined shampoo/body wash, shower cap, hairdryer. - Free in-room WiFi (average speed approx. 29Mbps). - Quiet at night. Cons: - Room design is rather impracticle: no chair with back if you need to work (only a pouf stool), small desk not deeper than a laptop, almost no storage spaces, very dimly lit, bright neon light for the keycard slot that you cannot disable during sleep, in-room safe not large enough for a tablet or laptop, no door on bathroom area (so if you travel with someone else, make sure you are comfortable seeing each other intimately). - Breakfast is quite odd and overpriced. Located in the reception area, you can see and overhear all the discussions with guests (or gossip among staff about guests, which we found rather unprofessional!). A set menu plate with no choice (so we had a lot of food wastage). No standard items, ie. no fruit yoghurt, no cereal, no pastries (only a mini donut and mini muffin), no fresh fruit, no hot food, savory items only a couple of slices of ham and cheese from a plastic supermarket packet. Same items every day, mainly bread-based. - Staff need more training for a 4-star hotel. Check-in was slow, used toiletries not replenished when cleaning rooms, unprofessional staff behaviour as mentioned above. - Quality of towels and toiletries very low (more suited to a 3-star hotel). - Many fire escape maps in the hallways are completely incorrect, wrong room numbers and wrong hallway designs. Unsure how these passed safety inspections.

Had a room with a balcony. A nice view from room on upper floor Staff are in general polite. Even 🏨 is not in downtown Milano, guests can utilize public transports to move around. ( - )Lack of commodities in the 🚽.
