Classic hotel. The 80’ 5*. Great view from room 222. Nonetheless the room is outdated. The elevator is ages old. Good for short stay. The location is superb with walking distance to Morrisons and Aldi.
Great breakfast and environment.

No Wi Fi code given when booking in,otherwise enjoyed our stay and already planning to go back. All staff really helpful and courteous.

Just two complaints there needs to be a proper door on the bathroom and the food at the evening meal appeared to be microwaved but the breakfast was very good , the staff were very friendly and our room was excellent .

I love this hotel but since it has changed hands it feels less special. The reception is part of the bar so on arrival nobody takes much notice of you. The restaurant feels more like a pub because you have to order at the bar and nobody collects your plates for ages. Breakfast service felt more personal. I probably won’t stay again because it was a disappointing experience.

Loved hotel. Room quirky, loved the maze to shower and wardrobes, clever and unusual. Food in evening was not that fab. Fish pie needs looking at! Stewed salmon with undercooked leek is not a fish pie is it?? The staff were amazing, so I didn’t want to spoil there evening so just said food was ok, but needed fish pie improved as they were all so kind.

Booked this for partner’s 70th treat as we both love art deco. The room was lovely with a sea view. Took us a while to find the toilet due to ornate panels hiding access. Plenty of storage with pull down wardrobe hangar, very 1930s. Service was polite and professional by young staff who were friendly . We had a good evening meal which was well presented and hot! The ice cream was disappointing for £6!! A glass of wine for £11 seemed steep as well. Breakfast was interesting as you had to walk a way to collect cereals, beverages, yogurt , bread etc. Not enough choice from the buffet area , some freshly chopped fruit or compote would have been good. Full English was fine . However, we like the Inn Collection group overall @nd would stay again.

our room was pleasant ,modern ,clean, the only major problem was the constant droning noise, thus making it impossible to get a good nights sleep.When i stay in an hotel I expect at the least to get a peaceful rest especially after a long drive up from holidaying in Cornwall. Another issue I had was the disgusting state of the dustbin in the breakfast room. Yes it did contain a black plastic bag but the exterior of the bin looked like it hadn't been cleaned/washed for weeks. The general cleanliness of the floors especially the corners and edges of the ground floor,

The Midland is a nice place to stay and perfectly situated on the seafront with amazing views. I may have been a bit harsh on my sleep review for the following reasons - It was very hot that day and with no Aircon the room was stifling hot with only a fan and large patio doors, which I left open and then I had all the noise from outside and it didn't really cool down, at 04:45 a women started singing in the next room, so deep joy there (she was terrible too). Not a great nights sleep and a long day coming up, I felt I didn't sleep. The room overall was lovely but showing signs of requiring an update. I understand its art Decco but at £65 a night I would have expected it to be plusher with bottles of water supplied. Coffee pod machine very nice touch. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would I stay again yes.

Excellent stay, my only comment is that the television is very limited, my husband needs subtitles but there weren’t even those.
