The room was comfortable and tidy, with a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom. I really enjoyed the public bath; it helped me wash away a full day's fatigue. The buffet breakfast was more Japanese-style with a wide variety of dishes. All in all, I'm very satisfied."

"advantage: The location is good, the attached hand soap, body wash, and shampoo are very high-end, the room is nice and tidy, the lighting is good, and the breakfast is good (meal coupon for sandwich in the cafe next door) shortcoming: There is a kitchen in the room. Occasionally, there will be a little smell wafting out, maybe a few times (I thought it was us, but it wasn't), and it is a bit inconvenient to get in and out. The door can only be closed after one person takes off his shoes and goes to the entrance, and the room The key is physical, not a card, so you have to hand it to the counter when you want to go out (be careful if you don't dare to communicate with the counter)"

Outstanding
GGuest UserThe price doubles and goes up. I have stayed in this hotel many times. It always feels good. I came here again after many years and felt that the overall service and the quality of the food in the hotel were much worse. In particular, the service may be understaffed during the peak season, but it is indeed a very good hotel. Be sure not to make any mistakes when booking a hotel, otherwise he will be unkind and only care about money!

GGuest UserWhen I booked, I didn't realize that rooms on the 5th floor and below had their windows completely blocked by the building opposite. I only found out upon arrival, and had to pay extra to upgrade to a better room – it was a total rip-off! The upgraded room was great though! It had a very unique Japanese style and even a private onsen. The public lobby was also very nice, and the breakfast was exquisite, with both Japanese and Western options.

LLiujingyanWe chose a large corner room with windows on both sides. The hotel building has a history of more than 200 years. The location is great. It is right at the entrance of Kiyomizu Temple Commercial Street. It is quiet in the bustling city. The hotel is very quiet and elegant, with high-end decoration, complete facilities and excellent service! Breakfast is served in a library-style restaurant, which is very special. I highly recommend Japanese breakfast. Everyone thinks it is high-end Japanese cuisine when they post it on WeChat Moments. There are also vegetarian and children's meal options for breakfast. I also strongly recommend the window seat in the executive lounge. Drink Japanese tea or Japanese whiskey in the afternoon and look at the quaint buildings outside. It is worth the effort!

GGuest UserThis hotel is located in the heart of Kyoto's main business district. The rooms on the Higashiyama side offer a direct view of the Kamo River and the eastern mountains, making for an excellent location. The hygiene is impeccable, and the service is very attentive. What's particularly noteworthy is how surprisingly good value the breakfast is. For 3800 yen per person if purchased separately, the buffet offers a rich variety of delicious food. For those of us who often feel a lack of vegetables when eating Japanese cuisine, the unlimited salad bar here is an absolute delight. Several types of small fish and the tofu soup were also unexpectedly delicious. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Kyoto.

GGuest UserWe took a taxi to this location because it was a little too far by bus, and we had all of our luggage with us. The location is beautiful. If you're only staying for one night like we did, then you should check in at the earliest (3:00 pm) so you can explore the local area. There are some really nice shrines nearby. We were only able to do this after breakfast the next morning. We also had to be out by 10:00 am, which surprised us because it was listed as 11:00 am on Trip.com. You will be served traditional Japanese cuisine for dinner and breakfast. They do an excellent job of presenting all of the dishes, and the service is also incredible. But if you're not used to eating raw fish, or traditional Japanese cuisine in general, you should definitely bring your own snacks to eat in your room! We stayed in the Garden view room with tatami mats. The staff will actually rearrange the room for you during dinner and set up your beds if you select this room. That was a very nice touch, so make sure you don't leave your room a total mess before dinner! I have added a picture of the beds after they were set up. The garden view was well worth the money we spent for it. Very relaxing and beautiful. And surprisingly enough...the tatami beds were super comfortable and warm!

GGuest UserMy wife and I booked the Classic Room for 3 nights in April 2025. We thought this was one of the best hotels we stayed at during our trip. From the moment you enter the hotel, you are welcomed by the hotel staff. You leave your bags with them and you walk up to a separate reception area where you are seated and offered tea and macarons. Check in is conducted while you sip your tea. After you get your keys, you go up to your room and your luggage bags are already there. We were very impressed by the reception. The room itself is fairly sizeable and offers a cabinet of Fauchon snacks. We had a good view of the alley behind the hotel that was lined with Sakura trees. We could also see the mountains in the distance. The location of the hotel is also great. It is located about a 5-10 minutes walk from downtown Kyoto and about a 5 minutes walk to Kiyomizu-gojo station. We also had breakfast which included a free flow selection of bread and pastries like French croissant, baguette and brioche. You also get a fruit plate, salad, and omelette. If you stay for more than 1 night, you also get a premium breakfast menu for your 2nd night onwards. We will definitely return to this hotel the next time we are in Kyoto.

GGuest UserWith our family of five down the mountain near the hotel price is too expensive, we accidentally found this room type, room is large, the price is close to the people, suitable for us. To reach the front desk and room, you need to climb the stairs (may be a remodeled old building, but very Japanese style). Since we drive by ourselves, we need to walk for3-5 minutes from the free parking space, but the luggage is large (next to Hankyu Busan Station), the handsome and beautiful staff are very dedicated to helping with the luggage to the room, and the Lobby puts a lot of Busan tourism information, (just happened to be summer festival, there are also Japanese nostalgic traditional gadgets for passengers. Overall, the hotel is close to the residential house but the room is very large and you can see the mountain. The environment is very comfortable and quiet. The handsome and beautiful staff wrote the thank you card before leaving the store, which made us feel sweet.

IiamnotdelicateThe basic room type isn't in the main building; you have to walk up to the main building each time to have breakfast or soak in the onsen (hot spring). And it's not a real onsen; my friend's superior room was the real onsen. We were given a small room at the back of the hotel, but thankfully there weren't too many graves. When I asked the staff at the entrance to take photos for me, they were very reluctant and had a sour face. At night, on my way back to my room from my friend's, the receptionist on duty in the lobby was also very rude. Overall, I was dissatisfied with the service. The facilities are excellent, very new, and the hotel is quite small, but that's typical for Japanese hotels. The decor is also very nice; the aesthetics are on point. There are at least three cemeteries and a bunch of shrines nearby; bring some amulets if you like.

GGuest UserHighly recommended. 1. The breakfasts are amazing. Looked forward to it every morning during the trip. 2. The room we booked includes 2 beds and 2 futons, I like that combination, suitable for the elderly who may have problems sleeping on the floor. My kids also said the futon is super comfy. 3. The location is very convenient too, within walking distance to many places of interest. 4. If you prefer to have no room service during the stay, you can also opt out of room service, and the hotel will gift you a box of cookies as a replacement for that option. I like that. 5. We booked a Kaiseiki dinner one day in advance during our stay, a bit expensive, but the experience was amazing, and we had the entire restaurant for ourselves for that dinner. But, I won't recommend booking all dinners (with the room) though, there are a lot of good meal options around the area. So definitely should explore more; must try more options in Gion as there are many amazing Japanese places within walking distance. Overall a really good experience. Thank you.

NNaxieniandeshiguangThe location is just opposite Nijo Castle, within walking distance, very convenient. Kyoto is not big, very leisurely, and the hotel is generally good to the attractions. The front desk and lobby manager are good, their English is online, very international, especially the European and American guys hired, the communication is very smooth. The facilities in the room are also good, the breakfast is also great, especially the freshly squeezed orange juice machine is quite interesting.
