Alder Hotel Uptown New Orleans

Uptown New Orleans|1.41km from Columns
This is a hidden jew of New Orleans especially if your child is a patient at the Children's hospital. We booked this place because of it being close to Children's hospital, our son was having a operation there. We were given a medical discount, the room was clean and very roomy, each room had a balcony. The only thing that I didn't care for was that the parking lot was across the street but you can unload and load bags right outside the front door too. Ice machine was located on the 5th floor, laundry is on the 9th floor. They have a pool, we didn't use it but it looked very clean. The evening our son was released from the hospital the hotel had a wheel chair that we borrowed to get our son to our room and the next morning we used it to him into our car to go home. The receptionist was very nice, I had a bag of stuff I was carrying while trying to push the wheelchair it spilled on the lobby floor and she got me a trash bag to reload my things. This hotel doesn't serve breakfast but they have a mini store like area where you can purchase snacks and food to eat in your room. Oh I wanted to mention that the biggest surprise at this hotel was the real dishes and silverware located in our room along with a microwave and mini fridge. Thank you so much for this! It was so nice to be able to eat in our room after being at the hospital for 12+ hrs worrying about our child, he rested in bed while we made a small meal. It rained that evening and we were able to open the curtains and sliding door to listen to the rain. Internet also worked good at this hotel. We also saw security several times in the parking lot. Thank you Alder for making our stay comfortable and we know exactly where to stay on our next visit to New Orleans.

Clean, very clean, bed sheets and mattresses are very comfortable, the hotel is not big, cost-effective, parking spaces near the road are pretty good, no need for valet parking

stayed here twice in 2 weeks for business. First room had 2 beds as I was traveling with someone. 2nd time was just a single bed for a few nights. Both stays I enjoyed very much! There is a nice outdoor fenced area just to soak in the atmosphere of the neighborhood. The beds were super comfortable and I love that they had sooo many pillows on them! I showered at different times throughout the day and there was no issues with the water pressure or hot water. There is a coffee lounge bar right down stairs and they also have live sports on TV. This hotel offers every amenity that you might need- I hope to be back! Thank you Marsh hotel!

Nice one bedroom at Club Wyndham Avenue Plaza-New Orleans. Pros: Close to Garden District Street CarTrolley stop for Greenline is located right outside of the hotel to Garden District or Bourbon Street Within 15-20 minutes Quiet area Convenience store and several restaurants within walking distance. Igor’s had a good hamburger if you want something quick. Cons: Smaller room overall with kitchenette Restroom is very small, shower only Pool is half size of a regular pool Valet parking $$ or maybe street parking if you can find anything Tips: We checked in late and missed the wristbands/sign up for sales pitch. Unplug your phone to avoid early calls. Shower is tricky… push button and rotate handle. Start with hot water only and add cold. We had no problem getting hot water but other people reported that it was an issue. StreetcarTrolley- take cash/dollars and buy a Jazzy Pass on the trolley. You can get on and off trolley all day and I think it covers the bus system as well. Day pass $3.00 and Three Day pass was $8.00. They don’t give change… just a credit for trolley system. You can also purchase them online and show your phone ticket. **Use maps on your phone to locate your location. Then click trolley and it will tell you when the next trolley will arrive and how it will take to get there on the trolley. Visit Jackson Square, eat beignets at Cafe Du Monde, enjoy the street entertainment and go inside the church… it was beautiful. You can also go on carriage rides around the area. Lot’s of shops and restaurants. Have fun!

Great location at the garden district. Easy access to the tram ride. Staffs were friendly. If you like the old new orleans flares this would be the perfect hotel for you We had the suite. Beds were very comfortable. Extra living room was perfect. Don't miss out on their amazing rooftop bar view. However the hotel needs some remodeling. Carpet is old, bathroom outlet isn't working. Bathroom overall needs update. Needs more light fixture. 1 elevator is not operating. Another one was down for half a day.
Hostel Auberge Nola

For legal reasons all of this is alleged, of course. Word to the wise, especially women, there’s a predaceous atmosphere here. Seems like the intention is to hire attractive impressionable women and encourage alcohol consumption beyond belief. One of their own volunteers likened it to “sex tourism”. It makes for a weird time. Great place to go if you’re looking for underage drinking because they’ll supply that. Got my wallet stolen on Bourbon St (watch yourself if you go), can’t help but feel like part of it was the negligence of Kat the volunteer leading. She was too drunk to properly guide. She didn’t even check on me after my wallet was stolen. I don’t blame her though, it’s on the owners. They put all the responsibility on the naïve and unpaid volunteers. The owners are never around, they just do the paperwork there. I was able to make the most of the trip but overall the hostel has a weird vibe. —— If you want to know the full story; Everything turned extremely sour when there was a misunderstanding with my reservation. I don’t blame the worker who missed it, it was a simple misunderstanding. My reservation was booked for one day shorter than I thought, they didn’t catch the mistake so I slept the night there and was charged in the morning (had I known this prior I would’ve booked different hotel for the night. Due to how much sound travels in house it’s impossible to sleep). They had no card on file because I canceled it due to the theft. They would’ve been outta luck if I had refused to pay, I could’ve challenged it due to their lack of due diligence. But I enjoy being honest. Hence why I’m leaving this review. I was waiting for my mom to send her card info so I could pay and Kat insisted on watching me pack. She sat on the floor attempting to manipulate me while packing, even tho I had earbuds in. She wouldn’t let me walk away from the fight, which tells me she’s miserable in her life. Her pride finally gave up after I continued ignoring her and packing for 5 minutes. She was attempting to have me sit in the office until payment arrived, instead of packing up. Sounded counterproductive to me because I was making myself busy, having a panic attack, while waiting for my mom to send payment info. There’s only one door to leave so this intensity made no sense. She also refused to give me a towel, even though I had an hour until check out. Seemed like an ego trip for Kat. Not to mention she didn’t sleep the night before working, she was busy partying. Kat might’ve done it, but Myrridas didn’t do anything to stop her. It was so so weird. So unprovoked. Felt very “mean high school girls” which is not that you want from “professionals” while on vacation. I understanding wanting payment but I agreed to once the card info came in and I wanted to carefully pack until check out time. Kat was acting like I killed her first born baby. Honestly got the vibe they were trying to hold me up so I’d be charged another night. Some of the volunt
