Pod Times Square

The location is super central yet surprisingly quiet. The room isn't huge but it's very comfortable. The prime location alone makes it totally worth it.

Expensive and awful. The room was tiny and the bunk beds made it feel really cramped. The first hotel I stayed at in New York was cheaper and better. I wanted to extend my stay in New York for an extra day, but all the other hotels were booked. So I chose this one. There's no comparison – this place is terrible. I absolutely do not recommend it. The front desk staff weren't friendly either!

For this price in Times Square, what more could you ask for? Surprisingly clean and hygienic. Bunk beds, each with its own TV (though we didn't use them). The subway station is just 200-300 meters downstairs.

The hotel itself is budget-friendly, and for this location, the price is acceptable. The cleanliness is also good, and the small room size is tolerable. The biggest downside is the environment. Times Square is downstairs, and it's incredibly noisy. At 1:30 AM, there was a traffic jam on the street with drivers honking like crazy. The hotel put us on the 4th floor; I don't know if that's standard treatment for Chinese passports or a Ctrip agreement, as there are over 30 floors. Every night, there are police cars, ambulances, fire trucks, and street racers, making noise. Unless you're extremely tired, you're guaranteed to be woken up on time. New York's subway system is excellent, so I wouldn't recommend staying here. Besides the many homeless people, the moment you enter the elevator, there's that distinct 'M' smell of New York streets – a sour, pungent aroma.

The location is good, close to Times Square. However, the room is very small, only big enough for a 20-inch suitcase. The bed isn't very big either; two slim people might just manage. There was a foot odor in the room, and no complimentary bottled water was provided.

The room was small but very clean, and the facilities were new. The front desk staff were friendly, and the location was unbeatable.

The room was tiny, especially the bunk bed setup, which felt no more than 5 square meters. There was hardly any space for luggage. The handrail for the top bunk was not only short but also completely unsecured – it wobbled back and forth and could slide side to side. This made climbing down the ladder incredibly dangerous when trying to hold onto it. On top of that, the hotel building is really old, so the air conditioning was extremely loud, and the street noise was also very disruptive, making it impossible to get a good night's sleep.

Two nights for 2000 during summer vacation? That's incredible value for money in New York! I can overlook everything else. The room and bathroom were indeed super tiny, though.
