In August, 2019, my wife and I went to Bar Harbor, ME for a visit with two granddaughters working at Beal's, the seafood restaurant. For proximity and convenience, we found the Harbourside Inn. Once we arrived for our two nights, we knew we had found a wonderful, unusual accommodation managed with pride by a brother and sister whose grandfather had established the modest-sized business. The room was attractive and comfortable; we guess Harbourside has no more than 20 rooms in all. Harbourside is like a B&B: coffee, fresh rolls, fruit, other breakfast items in the morning, all kinds of cubbyholes, porches for reading or staring out at the trees and nearby ocean. The hallways have lovely, fine paintings in the Audubon style. The service and comfort were exceptional.
