The hotel is a lovely old Spanish style building. My room was clean and the bed comfortable after walking 14 miles on this particular day of the Camino. The downside? The NOISE! Every time someone flushed a toilet or turned on the water it was so loud it woke me numerous times. The walls are thin and I could hear a big party down in the bar. I understand that this is a very old building however, better care could have been taken in the updating and more insulation is desperately needed.

A charming blend of old world meets current day amenities! Plush towels with a variety of travel size treats--soap, shampoo/conditioner/lotion--even a rare box of tissues! Soft linens with a non-squeaky bed---hard to find it seems. All in an old world room of wood and stone(small but set up efficiently) with great full length windows to a small but appreciated balcony--lovely for morning and evening bevs of your choice! And a mini-frig to boot. Charging stations by each side of bed--each with it's own night stand was a nice find as well. I cannot think of one thing this stay lacked. Hope to return or try another Parador....or both!

typical parador; great atmosphere; central location, great breakfast of course; clean, very evocative. Nice little bar; Bartender was maybe a little indifferent, odd for spain/portugal. Desk was efficient but they made me sign for all 5 couples and at first seemed a little miffed at us but I think the person was a trainee and once we finished the paperwork he was very helpful.

This was another great stay at a Parador. Beautiful property and rooms with all the necessary amenities. Breakfast is excellent and includes buffet style service as well as custom dishes like eggs. It's conveniently located about a block from the Camino de Santiago Portugués.

I would love to be writing a positive review as on first impression, the palador was fantastic. The decoration, the history, the room, the bed sheets, the bed, everything was fantastic. I was even looking forward to future visits to other Paladors's. However, when my wife and I went to bed, we noticed a noise. There was a bang and a continuous noise that lasted for about 20 seconds and another bang to end 20 second break then it went again. It sounded a lot to me like a water pump turning on and off. For about 2 hours, from 01:00 to 03:00 we tried to tolerate it and go asleep but at 3 we rang downstairs. We didn't get any real solution and we ended up staying in the same room. Apparently the hotel was full and so we had a terrible sleep. We didn't get much sympathy at reception either when we were checking out, which was a little bit disappointing. Our night away was ruined by a bad sleep and next day ruined by tiredness. The room below us complained too and we got the impression that this was not the first time such a complaint was made…. Come on Parador accept responsibility and fix the issue, don't let any more guests suffer.

A lovely and dignified parador with significant architectural interest. I was sorry that we could only stay one night. Our room was very comfortable and clean. I would absolutely return to this parador.

Wonderful history, great location and the Paradores are always a tempting option to me for those reasons. I think the hotel was really good but could definitely use modernisation in the room as my room has a dusty or damp smell to it which was not quite to remove. The wooden floor was in a slightly sad state of repair and needed sanding and varnishing.
