OVerall its was a pleasant stay for 1 night. We stayed on the ground floor although there are passer-by along the corridor, there are night curtains to block the windows for our privacy. Room lighting abit dim, flushing system not very good, should provide more pillows for neck support. There is an additional charge from the the hotel if you need to bring your luggages from the main road alternatively you can pay the buggy driver (small golf car)and ride along with the luggages to the hotel. Night ambience in the hotel is super photogenic!

Awesome place! The most ornate hotel that I could find and it certainly was stunning! The staff were helpful and the breakfast was delicious. Amazing place :)

location is perfect. Hotel is located in a beautiful building. Room was ok. Please note that the beds are really hard, especially for European people. I knew we had original kan beds, and expected them to be hard, but they were really really hard. Our kids were to tired and we let them sleep out a bit, so we skipped breakfast which was until 09:30. People worlking at hotel could be a bit more helpfull. The hotel itself is bigger then expected. If you go for teh scenic adventure, you can choose to stay here as the location is perfect. You also only need to walk like 20 meters max from the drop off point where no shuttle busses are allowed.

What a wonderful experience! The hotel is located in a beautiful historic setting within the ancient city walls of Pingyao, right in the heart of the old town. The atmosphere is truly authentic—you feel like you've stepped back in time. It's the perfect base for exploring this charming city. The rooms are clean and reflect the traditional style of the surroundings, adding to the overall charm. But what truly made our stay special was the staff: incredibly friendly and always willing to help. Despite the language barrier, they went out of their way to communicate with us, using translation apps and lots of patience. We felt genuinely welcomed. All in all, highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and memorable stay in historic Pingyao!

The room floor is dusty and dirty without being mopped I think. The shower hot water is so unstable, we had so much trouble washing our two young children. One moment is super hot water coming off the shower and next moment cold. We had to dodge in and out under the shower, it's horrible and inconvenient experience. Even for adult I find it utterly annoying. The location is great nevertheless. But cleanliness must be up to par with the price people are paying.

This hotel is located in the middle of the action. On one of the main streets. They wrote me ahead of check-in to organize my arrival. One staff was proficient at English and very helpful. Overall a friendly place to stay and i enjoyed it.

The ancient city Pingyao and the Yundingxuan hotel blowed our mind. The hotel provide free pickup from the train station. We took the high speed train arrived at Pingyaocheng station which is around 15 minutes away from the ancient city. When you enter the city wall gate, you will be amazed of the narrow streets and cobblestone road. Picked Yundingxuan hotel because it was closed to the North gate so If the taxi was to dropped us off it’ll be a short walk but the driver dropped us off near the hotel because cars are not allowed within the main streets. The hotel is closed to 200 years old and have characteristics of the Ming and Qing dynasties. I was born in Vietnam, With roots to China but raised up in the US since I was 7 years old. I’ve seen Chinese movies but nothing will prepare you to the hotel and the ancient city. I was surprised how big the hotel complex was. All the staff were very nice, the main host spoke English, and the breakfasts were traditional Chinese breakfast. We stayed two nights and we felt safe throughout our visit. My wife and daughter appreciated the three hotel cats and all the felines throughout the city. I’m sure the other hotels are fantastic and will give your a unique experience but I can vouch for Yundingxuan. Just be prepared to get out your comfort zone but be amazed by the visual and taste of Pingyao Ancient City.

Good location

This B&B in Pingyao is amazing! It has seven large courtyards (five entrances) and an elegant and grand environment. The owner is friendly and helpful, helping with discounts on tickets to nearby attractions, recommending places to eat, and providing maps for the free shuttle bus. The makeup in the photos taken by the hostel (the seventh courtyard) is also beautiful, and the person who took the photos has a very ladylike temperament. The house is large and tidy, the kang is unique and very comfortable to sleep on, and the bathroom is also new and clean. Very, very good.

The hotel is located in the scenic area, which is very convenient. The courtyard is very beautiful and the rooms are very characteristic of Pingyao Ancient City. It is worth recommending.

After your hotel was dealt with by the marketing department, the owner offered to refund the entire room fee, but I declined this offer due to my negative review. This is a negative review worth 433 yuan, and I hope you'll take note. 😊 Although it's a negative review, your hotel has already dealt with the employee involved, so it's still a good place to stay. 🌹 Facilities: Due to overbooking (p5), the hotel moved me to a new room at 9:30 PM. The bathroom door was missing two-thirds, making it impossible to shower. After arguing until 12:34 AM, a sheet was finally hung in the bathroom. Service: If the owner hadn't severely punished the housekeeping manager involved, **, I would have continued to report it on Ctrip and Shanxi Province's 12335 hotline, fulfilling the employee's promise, "Then you can contact the Cultural and Tourism Bureau. I'm not afraid! ❗️," before hanging up the phone. 1️⃣ Overbooking (for example, a hotel with 100 rooms may overbook 5% to avoid last-minute check-outs). After I strongly refused the hotel's "room upgrade," the waiter informed me that the room was sold out (see P5 for evidence). I booked a room for June 28th on June 19th and confirmed my itinerary with the hotel on June 26th. ❓Why was my room sold out?❓ The former customer service manager demanded, "How could you be dissatisfied with the upgrade? If you had the guts, just ask the front desk for your original room when you checked in." I countered that they had overbooked the room, and I repeatedly requested to be moved back to my original room. The former housekeeping manager, Ms. **, ignored my request to shower, accused the customer of being rude to the manager, and threatened, "If you can't communicate well, don't call me!❗️" before hanging up. ⚠️The consequence for customer service representatives daring to hang up or refuse to answer a call is dismissal. Miss ** did this six times (see p7 for evidence). After being hung up on, I called a second time to ask how to resolve the issue of not having a shower in my room. Miss ** said, "I can't kick out other guests to let you stay," ignoring the fact that I had booked the hotel ten days in advance. Her unreasonable and arrogant attitude left me speechless. Then she hung up on me. ⚠️ I wanted to prove Miss **'s claims were true, so I called the Culture and Tourism Bureau and a government agency (I was furious and frustrated). This ultimately led Miss ** to become a truly unburdened lady. 🙏 Perhaps your previous housekeeping manager had different hygiene habits than us mere mortals and didn't shower every day in the summer. 🤣🙊🤮 2️⃣ Your hotel is prone to playing tricks on customers, leaving them angry and embarrassed, and then asking them to understand their difficulties. Perhaps I, a humble person, am unworthy of staying at your hotel. I demand an apology letter from the employee involved, **, and have repeatedly refused any financial compensation. I have recounted my experiences several times, yet I have been forced to endure the hotel's "gratitude education" since 10 a.m. ⚠️Please remember this: overselling rooms is illegal. When inquiring about this, please don't play dumb. After all, I requested my original room, and you acknowledged that you couldn't accommodate my request for the room type I reserved. I agree that the so-called "upgrade" was my attempt to accommodate and condone your "overselling" behavior. I hope you will correct your attitude. Your dereliction of duty is interconnected. I should have been sleeping in bed at 0:35, not standing and arguing with you. Proposing a hotel change is too late, so late that I, a greedy person, would rather give up my money than demand an explanation. ⚠️When criticizing customers, you should reflect on what led to their extreme misconduct. Please remember that my previous calls to your hotel always used the honorific "you." However, you either played dumb or bullied me. I was furious because you forced me to do so. 3️⃣The hotel's laundry detergent was a gift from the previous owner and is seven years overdue. If someone has been missing for eight years, they are legally considered deceased. 🪦 The fact that you ignored the fact that the bathroom door was missing by two-thirds is likely a sign of your kindness and commitment to the national call. This should be attributed to your good intentions in hiring blind room attendants. 🙏 4️⃣After noon, I received a letter of apology from the eldest lady. The handwriting was so elegant and graceful that it would have moved Yan Zhenqing to tears, and He Zhizhang himself to sympathize. I am vulgar and short-sighted, and my mother is old and dim-witted. I truly do not understand the essence of this. 😭 Figure 6 shows an authentic calligraphy by a renowned contemporary calligrapher. I hope your hotel's distinguished guests will be able to guide me. I'm utterly terrified. 🙇♀️ 5️⃣ The phone was broken, as shown on page 3. I had to pay for the call to communicate with your hotel. However, I was hung up on, which was truly unfortunate. To prove the former manager's authority, I contacted the authorities at my own expense. 6️⃣ Your hotel is short on transportation. My mother was worried about overdue her high-speed rail ticket, and your shuttle bus took a long time to arrive. You offered to refund the room fee, but you didn't realize you had booked a shuttle to the high-speed rail station for us. This shows your EQ. In summary, your hotel is a disgrace to the Shanxi hotel industry in terms of transportation, facilities, and service. However, the environment evokes the legacy of the Jin Dynasty's wealthy and powerful (P7), a place once home to the rich and powerful. Fortunately, your owner promptly addressed the employee involved, and your hotel remains a viable destination for other guests. I wish you continued success in your business. P8 is a cat mom wearing a pearl necklace (I love cats so much 🥰🥰 kiss cats 😚), P9 is a commemorative coin I bought while traveling in Shanxi, weighing eight kilograms, with a total of 89 pieces, which shows the ingenuity of Shanxi's cultural and tourism industry 😻

It was just the ancient city courtyard I imagined, with seven ancient houses. It was a great experience, very close to various attractions and South Street. The proprietress also upgraded one room for free. The service was very good, and the cat wearing a pearl necklace was very cute.

The old house with a sense of age has been renovated, and it is very unique and antique. The hotel is located on West Street, which is convenient for transportation, and the rooms are clean and hygienic. It is worth recommending.
