If you want to explore the ancient town of Pingyao, then this hotel is fantastic.
It's 15mins away from the high speed railway. They pick up and drop out off outside the city.
With the covid regulations in place, the hotel supported me through the process and helped me gain entry into the city. I was then collected and driven to the hotel.
Check-in was smooth and the lady helped me to book tickets for the Pingyao theatre show at the same time.
I received a free upgrade from a double room to a suite.
All in all, a fantastic holiday, and a great experience.

Nice hotel in very good location. Good choice for breakfast although only Chinese food. Currently the Main Street in under renovation so detour needed

Service and food are horrible considering to the 5-star rate(1088RMB/night).
Only 1 clean service during my stay, and the floor was always dusty. Don't they have vacuums?
Breakfast was horrible - instant coffee(too much sugar), dumplings, cold/dry toast...
You must be very selective on what the front desk tells you. For example, they sold me two free visiting tickets to me at 120RMB/ticket, and told me that local taxis are not allowed to transport to Wangjia Dayuan and I'd better get car services from them with 400RMB(the truth is, taxis are allowed to operate between Pingyao and Wangjia Dayuan with 300RMB).
Won't consider this hotel, or even this city in the future.

The bed in the room was very comfortable and the service was great. It was just in time for the film exhibition. Many stars stayed here. The tour bus provided free pick-up and drop-off from the parking lot. I will come again next time

The hotel is right on the street from the west gate, which is very convenient. The lady contacted us to pick us up at the west gate and helped us with our luggage! The yard is very beautiful, with five in and five out. You can take beautiful photos without going out. It's pet-friendly! They upgraded us to a family suite for free. The house is large and clean. It was very pleasant to spend an afternoon drinking tea in the yard. They also gave us Shanxi specialties as a gift when we left. We will choose here again next time we come, it’s great!

Traveling with friends during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day. The inn is on West Street in the ancient city and can be reached quickly from the Ximen parking lot.
There is a large courtyard with five in and five out. They were very enthusiastic to help us carry our luggage. The room was very clean.
